    I always knew about Fiskars axes, recently found their hammer at a local salvage store, I was so impressed I bought 3. Looked into their other products and I have since added the 8"utility snips, HVAC seamer and hatchet. Retractable utility knife and tin snips up next!

      Fiskars X7 hatchet, is my winter tool, because I use a woodstove for both heating my house and cooking. Their scissors, are some of the best, if not THE best brand of scissors. KAI from Japan and Klein from USA,are the only who make scissors at that level! The other handtools I swear by, are Knipex Cobra 180, Vicotrinox Spirit X multitool and Victorinox Explorer for edc and Victorinox Rucksack for the outdoors. Finaly, Fenix flashlights and Bic lighters, complete the list of the tools,that I use daily to survive!!

    I had to use a quality ceramic rod, to sharpen my Fiskars cuts plus more, to make it cut as it should. The ceramic rod system on it's sheath, doesn't work on mine, because it was not set at the proper angle from the factory. I did expect that to be the case, even before I got the scissors in my hands, because I sharpen knives for living, since the early 90s. Other than that, the fit of the blades, that does the cutting action on scissors,, even without a screw, on this model, it's still siprisngly good! Product seems like a gimmick, but it works, better than I thought it would, very happy with it! After I made the edges razor sharp, it now cuts betetr, than any Fiskars scissors, with the factory edge.Sharpness was the only thing, I wasn't happy for, on this product. If any of you were happy when you got it, you don't know what sharp scissors or sharp knife is! Ttrust me on that, I know my job well! My next buy, is going to be OLFA SC2 Scissors! Keep them sharp and stay safe guys!

    Great review! Some say pull the scissors to sharpen. You say push. Which is it? I've had a Fiskars hatched for years. Great product and very inexpensive. EDIT: I just found this on the Fiskars site. Says about sharpening: "The compact Fiskars® SewSharp™ Sharpener quickly and easily restores scissors back to their original cutting edge. Simply insert a scissors with the slot opening facing up and apply gentle pressure to the blades as you *pull* the scissors toward you. The ceramic sharpening rod will restore blades to their correct angle for sharper, more precise cuts. This handheld sharpener is small enough to fit inside your pocket or sewing kit for convenient portability." Maybe it doesn't matter but I'm going with what the tool maker says.

      I'm shocked that your tool lasted 69 yrs. without breakage or losing them!! I've got a Plumb brand axe I've had for 68 yrs.! Replaced the head twice, and the handle 3 times. Really tough tool! It may go on forever!! I love my Fiskars too, but haven't had them that long. Gave a pair of Fiskars scissors to my nurse. After she tried them, her gratitude kinda scared me!! So my advice is, be very careful with sharp tools!

    Hi from a scissor enthusiast from the UK! Why is it that these PowerArc sheers, only some of which are available in the UK for some reason, do not have Titanium coated blades as I understand that this makes them much harder, sharper and more durable?

    I know Fiskars paid for this because anyone who uses scissors for a living owns Weiss investment cast shears. Yes one pair of Weiss shears costs more than 10 pair of sheet-metal un-resharpenable Fiskars, but I own a pair of 1893 Weiss 6 1/2" dressmaker shears that were my Great-grandmothers and have been sharpened once and will cut feather silk cleanly. I also own my Late Grandmother's Weiss pinking shears and her 11" shears. Hello Fiskars, wanna cut 14 ounce wool on a test with ANY scissors you make??? I own several pair of Fiskars for cutting dry mounting tissue and paper. They are throw-away scissors-even the titanum ones. They CAN'T be sharpened, and they dull cutting paper like all scissors except Japanese paper shears that cost $600.

    • @TonysCoolTools
      @TonysCoolTools  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I retired from Fiskars 4 years ago and am not being sponsored or paid for my review. I can’t argue with you, Weiss is a very good “Professonal” scissor but as you pointed out at 10 times the price most people can’t afford them. Fiskars only got into the scissor business in 1967 and is probably the most recognized brand of scissor in the US market. They are affordable but in most cases people don’t consider sharpening them, they just go out and buy another pair.
      I appreciate you watching and commenting. 👍TCT
