      Very strange, you deliberately left out the profession of the 'Rac*st woman' who is in fact a professional NHS Nurse giving her own personal account (which can be used as evidence) of communication costs of signage all throughout her hospital & expensive interpreters on call 24/7, which you also strangely left out. Heavily pregnant 'tourist's' abusing the NHS is common, mass migration is the direct cause of our entire infrastructure struggling to cope with high demands, & last but not least, the high cost of crime & the devastating effects on the victims' families which you hard left deceivers love to ignore.

      I was expecting the old woman complaining about the french going on their roof without a safety rail when we follow the rules and that's why she voted for brexit. I'm paraphrasing but it was something idiotic like that.

      @@jacobprice2579 you can find it with Google search, it was done by members of both parties but the tory/dem coalition was the firest time it was outed as they wanted to bolster a case for austerity. Funnily David Laws the man who made the note public had to resign shortly after for an expense scandal. In reality no incoming government has any money as it is paid via public taxes and borrowing.

      Conservatives... pissing all over a tradition for political gain. Who's shocked?

    • @luke-alex
      @luke-alex 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@jacobprice2579 I think the extent of the tradition has been somewhat overstated. Byrne wasn't chancellor in any case (he was Chief Secretary to the Treasury). There's certainly a tradition of outgoing politicians leaving humorous notes to their successor, in a general sense.
      The important point that I think is important to remember is that, the reason the finances were in such bad shape was because of the global financial crash, not mismanagement. I personally think the note showed a sense of humour and I didn't find it insulting, but I guess if you really did blame everything on Labour just being reckless with our money, I can understand why you might see it differently. I personally find it worse that Laws didn't respect that the note was a private joke, and allowed it to be used as it was.

    The bananas thing, is silly, but there's actually a serious point behind it that doesn't get articulated well enough. it's not the shape or length of a banana (stop sniggering in the back)... it's that firstly, time is spent discussing it by paid officials, then a decision is made, then someone (likely an office) has the job of setting the standard, and someone else has the job of monitoring the standard, then someone else has the job of issuing fines or whatever injunction, then someone else has the job of making sure fines are paid, then someone else has... and so on. before you know it a whole office, department, commission, tsar, council is formed for things like this. and once the office is created, it almost never gets decomissioned, because the first role of a bureaucracy is the maintenance of the bureaucracy.
    and then there's a mission creep. it starts off with bananas, but obivously you cant have a whole workforce just dealing with bananas, so before you know it they're doing the same with other fruit, then they're involved in trade disputes between fruit producers, then they're involved in food security issues, health and wellbeing, food research wrt biotechnology... it's the nature of these offices to branch out unless you get strict with their funding.
    just let shops sell whatever bananas (or other fruit) they want and let shoppers decide whether they care enough to buy or shop elsewhere. at a minimum there should be standards set strictly for health and safety - which the EU did have a pretty good record for.

    • @lidbass

      I think the point was more that he expressed himself very badly. Ireland = Island. By that logic he should be off to plant trees all over Greenland.

      @@Macca-rb5ok Er, no he didn’t. He is actually saying that Ireland should be unified because it’s an island. Not because it might make political, economic and geographical sense. Not because more people might be better off with a unified Ireland. And not because, well, it just seems to be the right thing to do after all this time. No: Ireland should be unified because the word ‘Ireland’ sounds like the word ‘island’ and, wow, Ireland _is_ an island. Q.E.D.
      Or alternatively, he _did_ know his stuff, and explained himself very badly. Which is the charitable view, and the point I was making. Either way, you have to admit that he is a little bit of a moron. Not much, and not as bad as some others in this video, and again, let’s be charitable and remember that he’s not a TV presenter and was in a difficult moment. But it was still a bit of a silly way to express himself on national television.
