FORESTELLA (vocal-crossover-group) is considered the kings of harmonies and simply masters every genre. Technically highly qualified, they are known for unexpected reinterpretations of legendary songs. Adding a twist and their own spice to it (always respecting the original), are they very creative, set new accents, like to experiment and the result is always TOP. A step up from that are their own original M/V's auditory and visual masterpieces that show what this unique group is really capable of. "Utopia" is part II of a triology (what ever Part III will be) / Part I is "Save our Lives".

This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world!
Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed.
You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! And they broke the record of their own with EXO's MAMA winning 6 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs. Check their magnificent performances of Bad Romance and Lazenca Save us in King of Kings and Unwritten Legend too.
Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible.
Don't miss their new m/v for Save our lives! It's full of wonders. Each of them is representing an element in the m/v. Recently they sang Fake Love of BTS and their song Save our lives at MAMA.
Now I see they are creating a genre called Forestella. They showed "What crossover is" with Save our lives and showing "What Forestella does" with Utopia!
This song is super hard to sing live.!! Anyone who listens to this song live will definitely say it's the most impressive. Their live performance is just beyond amazing. I strongly recommend anyone living in States to see their live concert.

Oh I didn't expect you'd react to them! I haven't been long diving the rabbit hole to Forestella, but assuming that they have a continuous storyline I think you'll need to see "Save Our Lives" MV as the prequel to Utopia here: th-cam.com/video/97JPv9ni1vw/w-d-xo.html
For the concept of this group it's called classical crossover since there are 2 of them (the bass Ko Woorim and tenor Cho Mingyu - the one with sharp eyes and light brown highlights) who are clasically trained. Other than that, there is a musical actor (Bae Doohon, the one with white hair steaks in the dark outfit concept) and an "amateur rock singer" (Kang Hyungho, the red haired guy).
Before he became a member of Forestella, he was a chemical researcher or amateur rock band vocalist, but now he is not an amateur rock singer, but a professional rock band vocalist.
He released an album of music he wrote and composed. He gave a private concert and it was successful.
And he is Forestella's producer and vocal director.
Kang HyungHo WAS an amateur rock vocalist when he was a research chemist. But now he has longer career as a professional musician than his chemist career. He has another soloist identity Pitta, rock vocalist of a producer band. He had solo rock concert twice already as Pitta.
And he was in charge of vocal directing from since Save our lives according that Forestella members said..so for me it feels not justice to call him an amateur rock singer as he IS a professional musician now.
*there is a reason why I "quoted" the word amateur (thanks to those correcting) because it was his previous experience when he debuted, of course now he's a professional

Thanks for officially reacting to a Forestella original track!! They are truly a group beyond definition. Too much vocal talent to really put into words. I would recommend reacting to "Save Our Lives" from them, next; Utopia is a sequel track to that one. The MVs are intentionally starting to form a story-line.
And yeah, I feel you on the styling and art of the MV!! FORESTELLA is now with Beat Interactive, the same company that manages A.C.E. As both a Choice & SoopByeol, I know just how super-powered the concept & styling team (headed by Regina Suh) is. They don't have much budget to work with, compared to the big 4, but they know how to use it to its fullest potential!!

Was this a MV for a single song or for and entire release? Because it seemed like there were different "acts", which could correspond to tracks? Apologies, I'm not really familiar with Forestella.
"Utopia" is part II of a triology (what ever Part III w'll be) / Part I is "Save our Lives" - also fantastic M/V. Background is a look at our civilization and how it deals with the resources of our earth.
A single song, the story they are telling is shown through the Acts
Here you saw act 4~6, you can find act 1~3 in Save our lives m/v. It's a visual delight too. Give a try! Each of them is representing an element like the Fire, the Water, the Air and the Earth in the concept.
And I think their concept began from Inner Universe and connected with Lazenca Save Us, Bad Romance, Fake Love and MAMA covers. (Maybe with Warriors cover too). Try any song you know well the original, you'll love Forestella's cover alot.
