Im absolutely obsessed with these michigan mr.brightside singalongs and i've never even seen a american football game. I know nothing about the game nor the team but these videos give me the chills and i cant stop watching them :D cheers from finland
@x Michigan Stadium, biggest stadium in the U.S. with a capacity of 107,601 people. That’s a lot of people singing Mr. Brightside. And that is a big reason why I 1) am a Michigan fan, and 2) love college football. I hope to experience it one day.
Learn a few American Football rules, watch some condensed American Football games and book a trip to the Big House in Ann Arbor, Michigan - then you can sing along with the crowd and be a part of it all. Might I suggest Ninh Ly's "Rules of American Football - Explained"...he's from the UK and does a fantastic job of condensing the most important rules into a short video
@@xanderriebock Indianapolis Motor Speedway is more than double that, Plus if you wont consider that a stadium, theres bristol motor speedway that can hold 150k and its actually a stadium
Michigan wins Big Ten crown, and the words match the reality! "No alibis, taking control, destiny is calling me"! Michigan's football team answered the call!
@@christianlibertarian5488 Yeah I'm still learning the lyrics. The meaning is still the same. Thanks for your help! (I'm over 65 y/o! Do you want to sing the song "Mr. Blue Sky'?)
For the people that have never been to the Big House in person, the video does it no justice. As any Big House Video does. Mainly because the stadium is so open, the sound escapes from the top. You have to actually be there to know how deafening it can really be in games like these.
I was at that game. Our tix are at the other end of the field, but believe me, the GenXers and Millennials were in on it too! #awesomegame #maizeout #hailtothevictors #goblue
so are only the students given the pom poms? On the right there seems to be a clear line in the rows where the colour changes & beyond that you don't see much movement
Some years ago they were playing it over the public address system during a television commercial time-out, and the large Michigan crowd was singing along. When the TV coverage returned, the system stopped playing the song, but the crowd continued singing it to the end. The following week they did it again, even louder. Since then, it's become a tradition. They now also play it during UM basketball and hockey games.
My brother is a student here and I had no idea they did this and I litterally ran out of the room getting recommended this to his room being like "OH MY GOD Y'ALL DID WHAAAAAA?!?!?"
Not all students. Colleges sports programs get insane loyalty from alumni, alumni family, and the surrounding community, so a little less than half of the approximately 110,000 in attendance 9/11/21 could actually attend the school (U of M has 50,000 enrolled this year). The rest are all non-student fans.
Ever been to an Arizona State University game? Don’t go, it’s horrible. Forget about any singalong. All they can say or cheer is “A-S-U, A-S-U, A-S-U” in that order, don’t confuse them. Great stuff and really original.
I'm Irish and don't get the whole 'epic' or 'goosebumps' comments. It's a fairly tame effort compared to fans in stadiums in Ireland or the UK. But having said that, have a lot of respect for the Americans and your country and cannot wait to visit this year!
I wonder what the most amount of people to sing a song at once is. There’s a chance that this might be it since there is about 100,000 people in attendance, just a matter of how many of which were singing edit: the record is under 5,000 so if somebody were to nominate this for the record it would probably win edit: According to guiness book of records “The most people singing in a round is 4,166 participants and was achieved by the government of Turkmenistan (Turkmenistan), at Türkmen's Ak Öýü in Mary, Turkmenistan, on 26 November 2015.”

I know crowd chant traditions are nothing new, but this one in particular makes me want to get into college football and root for this team.
I do root for this team and I'm embarrassed that this sh*t is some kind of "rally" song.
One of the most beautiful noises in the world, ever, EVERRRRRRRRRRR - is a crowd singing a great melody in tune, just mesmerizing! I love it!!!!!!

Music brings us all together, no matter who we are, what our past is, where we come from. It doesn’t matter, music brings us closer together
This is legendary, teams/schools will copy this in some shape or form for years to come
Meh...you should go to a Texas Tech home game. They may lack in stadium capacity, but you get to frisbee tortillas!
It's played every game at UCF. I think schools know that every Gen Z student knows this song by heart

I am a long time, hard core Miami Hurricanes fan but the "big house" in Ann Arbor Michigan is the absolute ultimate in college football!!!
I was at a lacrosse game this night and they played this song and they cut the music at some point and it was a whole choir. It was amazing
This has to be a lie. Nobody goes to lacrosse games
When one stadium hold 1.5 procent of your country inhabitants and is dancing/ singing toghether. Love it 😍 belgium speaking. Goosebumps

So wholesome! …not intimidating in the Euro soccer sense but a great spectacle!
This ain't the first song from the 2000s in which the Michigan Wolverines fans made an anthem of their own.

anyone know the song that played immediately afterwards? Like the last 7-8 seconds of this clip?
