- In Season 3 of Miraculous Ladybug, we were introducted to the concept of Sentimonsters. A Sentimonster is a monster made from the Peacock Miraculous when an Amok is tied to an item containing sentimental value.
The Agreste family has been in posession of the Peacock and Butterfly Miraculous for quite some time now, raising some important questions as to the disapperance of Emelie Agreste. Is it possible that her disapearance is linked to the Peacock Miraculous as well as Adrien's hidden identity? Join me to find out!

I originally added this in the video, but I took it out because I thought it was too much speculation. But I think if this theory does end up being true, Felix's inclusion would make a lot of sense from a narrative standpoint. When the show was first being made, he was the original Chat Noir and was replaced by Adrien. If he has the ring that the Amok was tied to, that sort of puts him in the Chat Noir position again (if he has influence over Adrien, and by extension Chat Noir). It would also make sense why they look identical, since most of the time cousins don't look like twins. We also don't know what Felix's Father looks like, but I doubt very much that he looked like Gabriel's twin. The only way he and Adrien would look the exact same would be if their parents both looked exactly the same (and even then, genetics don't work like that). It's possible that Adrien was based off of Felix, or even the other way around (I don't think we know enough about Felix at this point to call him a Sentimonster, though).
The other interesting thing about this theory is that it would fit with Adrien's overall arc. While he's learning to communicate with people and form healthy relationships, he's also learning how to stick up for himself and break away from his Father's manipulative grasp. I certainly think that even without an Amok Gabriel could very easily manipulate Adrien (which I think is what he's been doing up to this point), but with an Amok it gives him even more influence. Adrien needing to rise above a force beyond his control and break free I think would be a powerful message, since often times with abusive parents especially if feels as though you have no control (and you comply out of fear). But that's just my two cents. I don't necessarily believe that this theory is true (it has a lot of holes), I just think it's cool.
If Adrien were to be a sentimonster, and the amok to be contained in the ring of Gabriel's possession, it would be seriously useful/harmful from Gabriel's point of view. If Gabriel grasps this information and uses it on Adrien, he could figure out and then manipulate Adrien to whom ever or whatever he desires, like upsetting people for akuja opportunities or even him finding out he is indeed cat noir and taking back the miraculous jewels.
@@x.xematax.x3434 I believe that the miraculous was not damaged when bunnyx first showed up in timetagger, due to it being in the future it happen and they were in the current time whilst she was in the past.
Hear me out, what if Natalie is a sentimonster? Thats why she has such loyalty to Gabriel. She was created by Emily when she was dying to take care of adrien and keep the family afloat. Thats why when she made Centibug, it was draining her because she was draining her (Natalie's)power. Unfortunately the centimonster(Natalie) started to fall romantically for Gabriel and is devoted to him. It could be a possibility because in feast technically the centimonster was dormant and it would make sense to give the centimonster her own miraculous aka the peacock. But it breaks her from the inside out. An opposite of this would be when Chat Noir cataclysm reflectdoll. If you look at Natalie's eyes you don't see much dimensions as you do with the other characters. And she looks tired and or depressed until she's around Gabriel. My big clue is how he trusts her with his identity vs the whole staff like the bodyguard. If she was under his control as a centimonster then she wouldn't tell his identity. I just find the whole relationship odd. Maybe Natalie is being controlled by the Graham De'Vanili rings both by Gabriel and Emily. Aka now Felix and Gabriel.

This theory is pretty cool and I heard it a lot but very unlikely because cant a miraculas holder only use their power once? If Adrien is a sentimonster the next time Myura makes a senimonster Adrien would have been gone. Or maybe that's not true and Myura can make multiple sentimonsters? Idk.

the idea that adrien could be a sentimonster honestly just makes me sad. imagining how confused and scared adrien would be if he found out he was just a sentimonster created by his parents and not actually a human is srsly heartbreaking. i know i would be horrified if i was in that position

He is real not a monster. If he was then there would need to be someone controlling his ever move and what he says but adrien has been doing and saying what he wants so I doubt he is a fake.

I think another character who could be a sentimonster is Felix. I don’t think it’s too far-fetched to say that perhaps Omelie (Felix’s mother) attempted to create him using the peacock miraculous, and ended up killing her sister in the process. Maybe she was jealous of her seemingly perfect sister with a perfect family, and such jealous emotions manifested in Felix by making him a “darker” version of Adrien.
That would also explain why Felix is jealous of Adrien because he's just a carbon copy of him and that his cousin is alive and he's just a sentimonster. Maybe Felix just figured out he's a sentimonster lately and that's why they were so close as kids and rn Felix drifted apart.

ASSUMING THIS THEORY IS CORRECT:
Imagine what a twist it would be if when Gabriel finally gets his hand on both Miraculous, he ends up accepting the fate of his wife's death. Then, he will wish for something that fulfills Emilie's goal since the very beginning (that ultimately led to her deteriorating health), which is to humanize Adrien. By wishing his senti-son to become a real human, Gabriel will exchange his own life-Gabriel sacrificing, basically-as a sort of of payback for all the times he has restricted Adrien from freedom. Damn, what a great villain redemption it would be.
I gotta be honest, that writing is better than Astruc's. I want a plot twist, a redemption arc, or you know an actual plot. Things like Cat Blanc are good, but something always happens so it doesn't affect the show, it's like they are steering clear of all deep emotional issues and focusing on [soon to be resolved] negative emotions rather than mental issues. There is a difference. Take Truth and Lies for example. They could finally realize their feelings for each other, and be confused with who they love... Marinette making a sacrifice for Kagami and ending up with Luka, and Adrien realizing that he loves not Kagami but Marinette, but he's still loyal to Ladybug all the same. I know it's confusing, but imagine the characters suffering from that exact confusion. It's real drama. Except both relationships ended within the same week that they started. I don't think the reveal is coming until the end of the show because of their need to keep people on their heels for it, because that's why people watch the show, at least for me. They need something like this, probably at the very end... A good show needs drama and heart, and as much as I like the show, it has none of this. If I were them, I'd hire you.

I feel like Felix would be the sentimonster here. Felix is extremely good at fighting and basically a copy of Adrien. I think maybe Amelie was the one who couldnt have children and Emilie tried to help her by making a copy of her own son. And slowly it destroyed her causing her to fall in a coma. And the amok might be the rings which could be the reason Amelie wanted them so badly

I think that’s a good point. But it was actually explained why Felix could fight. When Adrien is looking for the chessboard and deck of playing cards. He asks Felix if he still did Karate. And felix said yes. But I agree that Felix is a inhuman jerk and I support this theory 1000%

I think Felix is a senti-monster and he stole the ring for complete freedom. Hawk Moth couldn't stop him because he didn't want to risk holding the peacock miraculous at the time and falling ill..

sentimosters are not complex, they are simple vessels for other's will. Even Sentibug didn't have her own will, she asked Ladybug what to do. and you don't have to hold the peacock miraculous, you hold the amuked object. Also if Gabriel had the ring, he would have complete control of Felix

Feast swallowed its own amok, that's why Nathalie recognized it's a sentimonster. If Adrien is one, I doubt he carries his amok around

There's still one piece of conflicting evidence. In your Feast point, you've proven that sentimonsters don't age. However, in the Timetagger episode, Bunnix tells Ladybug and Cat Noir that she's from a future where they're all adults.
only marinette is confirmed to still remain as ladybug in the future because of her voice tho. cat noir's body is shown but there's no proof that it's still adrien.

after season 4 and ephemeral, i can’t help but believe that adrien is a sentimonster. the way adrien was trying so hard to resist being akumatized, and then gabriel suddenly touched his ring and asked if he understood, and then adrien’s face just suddenly changed completely to nothing and gave in to his father. i don’t know but that was kind of suspicious to me.
i’ve seen so many people saying that adrien obeyed because he was being akumatized. but i don’t think that’s necessarily true. gabriel can’t really CONTROL his victims. i think akumitizations deepens their negative emotions (in addition, gabriel’s manipulation) so they won’t want to resist or it would be extremely difficult to resist. but if you try hard enough, you CAN resist and break free. alya resisted an akumitization. so i don’t think shadow moth can force his victims into giving into him.
with that being said, it looked like adrien was doing everything in his power to break free. he REALLY didn’t want to be akumatized. i feel like if he was able to continue trying, he would have broken free. but gabriel touched his ring, and it looked like adrien was being controlled and had no choice but to give in. and the fact that the writers made sure to show gabriel touching his ring has to have some sort of significance. you can’t deny that that must be important.

I say that there was some misty-smoky kind of magic in that ring causing Adrien to obey him!
In the episode Gabriel Agreste, Felix also resisted the akumatization without turning into a super villain unlike Alya being Lady-Wifi.

There Felix also obeyed Gabriel when the ring was touched.. but the ring was with Nathalie so, Gabriel got tensed that he doesnt have the ring to control him but Nathalie showed the ring to Felix, then he obeyed..

My theory on why Gabriel is so "protective" over Adrian by not letting him do anything, is because he is attempting to turn his home into a farm for negative emotions by affecting Adrian or those around him with those rules. He wants to cause Adrian or his friends to get mad because he isn't allowed to do anything with them so he has more people to akumatize.
but then why did he have those rules before hawkmoth? in origins we saw him go to school the first time in his life

The peacock miraculous isn't what's making her staying in a coma,the peacock miraculous itself damaged Emelie's lifeline to the point she went into a coma,she used a broken miraculous guys,a damaged one but if Gabriel actually really does make a wish to bring her back,if Adrien really is a Sentimonster,he will die since technically if Emelie made Adrien,and since Master fuu has already stated that if one makes a wish, something else will be gone,for their world to be balanced. So if Emelie were to come back,Adrien will be gone.
The flowers might have magical properties that help keep her body from decaying because I'm 99% sure she has already passed. Now we know Adrien isn't a senti monster because of NY special but still this was an intriguing theory

@@abbysworld05 Gabriel is either inconsistenly written or is conflicted about his son, but given the Chat Blanc episode he will use him if he has to, so, yeah, if he kills Cat, it won't be a surprise, as for Evolt, he killed Build's father right in front of him and shows a disdain for life, he destroyed a planet on screen for no other reason than because he can.
@@abbysworld05 Heck, even Pretty Cure can pull that off, it was with a villain recently, but still... in Healin' Good Pretty Cure, Cure Grace, the leader was asked by a villain to help him as his leader decided to kill the guy, by letting said villain take refuge inside her body (he is like a disease given humanoid form, fits with the theme), said villain, Daruizen, was responsible for giving Cure Grace a chronic disease that affected her for her whole life up until said disease became a kaijin and was going to become a commander until the Cures killed him, he also tried to kill Grace multiple times, so, Nodoka/Grace said no, and just bolted out of there, with the fairy that gave her the Cure powers assuring her that it was the right thing, that it wasn't wrong putting herself first for once, come next episode, the villain is on a rampage and tries to guilt trip Grace, who shoots him down with one question: "If i had helped you, would you have stopped attacking humans?" him getting angry and trying to kill her again was all the confirmation she needed that he was unrepentant scum, so, they fought and she finished him off, with no lingering feelings whatsoever.

SEASON 4 SPOILERS: I came back to this video after watching season 4 episode “Otigami” which shows that a sentimonster can use a miraculous just like a actual human. Senti-Nino just said the transformation words, and became Carapace. I just thought it was interesting that the show confirmed that sentimonsters can use miraculous.

I just saw the Ephemeral episode aka chat blanc 2.0 and there's this uncanny resemblance of the two episodes and that is how Adrien couldn't resist the command from his father whenever he touches his ring. Therefore, this strengthens your theory that Adrien is a sentimonster.

I believe that Adrien is not a sentimonster. The particular reason for this circumstance is due to the fact that Adrien can wield the miraculous, which is of course known by now to be used by humanity for the good of the human race. Because Adrien has used multiple miraculouses before, the cat and the snake, he could simply not be a sentimonster.

my question is though, Adrien has memories from when he was a kid with chloe and that they used to hang out. I mean one that could debunk the theory or two it could further prove it. Powering Adrien for that long broke the miraculous and further lead Emilie into a comatose state. It’s a really interesting theory.

It would make sense because Adrien said he didn't remember having any dreams as a child except that he wanted to be what his parents wanted him to be and if he was a copy of the real Adrien instead of being the original he would still have the memories of when he and Felix used to play as kids.

Him being a sentimonster would also explain the issue of Chat Blanc. He didn’t resist akumatization, which we know IS possible by what we saw with Chloe. Adrien would have 1000% fought akumatization based off our knowledge of his personality.
It also explains how Gabriel would never let him outside. We never really get an explanation as to why he does it, but it would make sense.
He did resist cat blanc but he was just struck by the shock of choosing his family or his love so he tried to kill himself by the cataclysm that's why he said 'i didn't mean to'

Seeing as we’ve seen a sketch of Adrien and Chloe as Toddlers in Despair Bear, I would be more inclined to believe something happened to the old Adrien, as the inability to have children would mean they’d been running the Adrien sentimonster for over a decade and facilitating growth as he becomes a teenager, which we don’t know if it’s possible or not.

It would be bad writing to pull such a twist this far into the show and in bad taste mind you.

I think Emilie used the peacock miraculous for creating Gabriel as the perfect partner. She told Gabriel everything he needs to know and how to act, but when he gets into a situation he's never been in before, she has to take control of him to tell him what to do at say sind he doesn't have a mind of his own. That's why she used the miraculous. And that'S also why Gabriel shuts out the world and his son. With Adrien he is in a situation he's never been in before and out in public he can get into one. With Emilie away, she can't take control anymore. So he stays at home to avoid people getting sus.

I think its interesting as well- in Wishmaker, Adrien's childhood wish was to obey his parents- wouldn't that make sense if he was a sentimonster? Created to obey, to fufill a purpose? I like the idea, and if it was more realistic/backed up I think it would have a lot of potential.

I’ve heard this theory a few times, and it always makes me sad, because that means there’s a chance that Adrien could cease to exist. I think your theory of the original Adrien having died prior to the show would make more sense than him just being created from nothing in my opinion, because he and Felix have childhood memories of being close, so he had to have existed prior to the show at some point, as there doesn’t seem to be an explanation as to why Felix and his mother would acknowledge Adrien as having always been there. I always thought Adrien was perfect and good at everything because he’s a forced recluse, and probably spent more time learning new skills out of boredom and loneliness, but it totally makes sense that Gabriel would design a perfect child - it’s super on brand for him, because he rubs me as being conceited and a type to want things to be just right. My theory was just always that Gabriel and Felix’s dad looked identical, even though I know it’s highly unlikely. It is proven that if identical twins marry identical twins, their children could come out identical or scarily alike, there was a whole segment on this talk show about why doctors advise people not to do it. (I believe one of the kids could also be ill, which could also help with the theory of Adrien having passed before.) There’s an article about this happening, and a different set of cousins on tiktok are identical as well because their parents are two sets of identical twins. The only difference is one having a looser curl pattern, and I think that’s more to do with styling. Even with this evidence, it is still a very rare occurrence, but I don’t think it’s rare enough for Thomas to not know about it. This is probably the least likely theory, but it keeps me from overthinking it haha. However, as fun as speculation and fan theory is for us all, I don’t think there IS an explanation for why Felix and Adrien look identical. (And if there is, it’ll probably take us forever to get the answer.) Because the target audience for mlb is children, I find it more likely that Felix and Adrien look identical simply because and no other reason. Throwing Felix in as a head nod to the original was probably just easy to do, because they felt like kids wouldn’t question it/care. (As most children’s shows tend to think.) I do kind of hope it’s addressed in the show, because I think Adrien was just placed in to be more likable / approachable for the kids, but it would be really nice if they would stop treating him like a simple side character and expand on his life. In Timetagger, we see adult Chat Noir (who is Adrien)
This obviously means that Adrien ages into an adult, which contradicts the whole sentimonsters dont age thing, therefore he can’t be a sentimonster as he is capable of aging.
Not only that, but I'm pretty sure he's gotten taller throughout the season as the show progresses. From what I understand, Sentimonsters can't change or grow without outside help.

Why would Adrien's mother be smiling at death or when she fainted. I feel when she died it was in the joy of having her son living a happy life sentimonster or not. One more piece of evidence of Adrien being a sentimonster that is often overlooked is that ladybug and hawkmoth don't have any ladybug or moth traits yet Adrien can purr and has shown other cat-like quality almost like the magic of his miraculous is having a greater effect on him which would make sense if he was a sentimonster because he would be made up of magic and therefore more effected by his miraculous magic.
I personally think this is a flimsy theory since him acting cat like as Chat Noir is just a joke the creators made to add more humor to the whole cat boy persona for the fans and kids who actually watch the show. And like she said this whole sentimonster plot might not happen since they made this into a kids show and people/creators might feel it’s a little too complex for children to understand completely.

It’s so sad seeing Sentibug die... gets me every time. I couldn’t imagine what the characters would go through if Adrien turned out to be one. It’s an interesting theory, but ultimately one that I think is too complicated, and honestly, rather dark, for this show.

When a senti-monster is cataclysmed, pieces of the monster break apart all over its body forming cracks. On top of that, the monster loses all sense of reason going berserk. When Adrien was cataclysmed he did not go berserk and did not break apart. Yes, it's possible that while he is cat noir he is somewhat immune but I believe that de-transforming back to Adrien would cause some problems (after losing the protection of his magical suit) while still under the effects of cataclysm.

I always thought that if Gabriel agreste had the ultimate power from the two miraculous and made the wish to bring emelie out of her coma, adrien would fall into one because of how the wish needs balance, so like a loved one for a loved one

I honestly didn't fully believe the theory when I started writing my sentimonster adrien fic, but I managed to get a chapter out mentioning Felix being a sentimonster before the episode Gabriel Agreste came out, and I had someone comment saying they didn't even know it was a theory. But to me I figured if adrien was a sentimonster, Felix was also probably one. I was so proud lol

@@Clownzyy his mother is literally being kept alive by his power hungry dad in a coffin in the basement, he’s died several times, sacrificed himself multiple times, and tried to purposely kill himself at least once (as in suicide because for the Juleka episode). It’s still a possibility. I don’t know if I believe he is one, but I wanted to propose a theory .🤷🏾♀️

Felix and Adrien are the same age/height so it would be weird if they created a Sentimonster that looked like Felix as a baby when some babies look the same when they are born.

I wouldn’t say Adrien himself is a sentimonster. But there is something very deep and dark within the Agreste family that will eventually come to fruition. Something that’ll stir very shaky emotions within Adrien to a dangerous point. There have been some theories that he may even become the next Hawkmoth.
While this makes sense, the producers aren't creative enough for this, or they are afraid to do anything that genuinely affects somebody emotionally, not just because of the betrayal of a friend or something like that to get people traumatized, but a sincere deepness such as this to actually affect the plot. If you don't believe me watch Cat Blanc. I do think something sinister is going on, I just think it won't affect the course of the show like we wanted., unless it is in the finale. Well, the series made a lot of mistakes. Like Luka being Juleka older brother and then becoming her twin, LB and CN fearing to wear a mask even if their appearance is changed, Alya thinking CN and Adrien look like each other and more, so they could just have overlooked this thing, like they overlooked that magic creatures can’t be seen on cameras and technically, Sentimonsters too.

i would first like to point out that i personally disagree with comparing what happened with an akuma with what would happen with an AMOK : they're not the same and may not work the same. but let's imagine they do work similarly.
- just like seen in some episodes, nathalie can sense the amok and not the sentimonster itself; could it be that magic interferences for a sentimonster would only been seen if the sentimonster have its amok on them? which would mean : an akumatized villian would only be perceived with magical interferences when they have their akuma on them ? let's take an example.
- any akumatized just like puppeteer or even troublemaker with an akumatized object that is easy to snatch away from them, if you were to not to break this object but hide it away ; how would uncanny valley perceive these akumatized people? as seen in the nyc special, magical interferences are blue but there's sometimes a bit of yellow. if we would take the akumatized person be perceived as entirely yellow? just like a sentimonster could appear as completely yellow without it's amok ? if adrien were to be a sentimonster, he surely doesn't have his amok on him.
- either way i personally believe (and here it's just my opinion, of course you're totally free to disagree) since what permits mayura to spot a sentimonster is the amok, it means that any magical interferences would be caused by the amok, not the sentimonster itself and adrien does not have his amok with him. the other argument people can come up with it "but if he's a sentimonster then he can't be filmed or seen via technology, because he's a magical being"
- in an episode tikki said to marinette "we're magical creatures marinette ! we can't be seen nor heard by technology !" before anything, sentimonsters aren't kwamis :(
- and in the episode "ladybug" sentibug was filmed on tv ! so uncanny valley may not be able to see kwamis, but she shouldn't have any problems with seeing sentimonsters !
- but here again, all we can do is theorize, right ?
This evidence is VERYYY good but, adrien remembers his child hood with Chloe and that was many years before. We know that emilie went into a coma or whatever happened to her only a year before.
She could've gone into a coma because of all of the years of keeping up the senti-monster, making sure it was growing like a normal child.

@@orangechicken1005 im pretty sure thats not how it works remember the object allows people to control the senti monster if they have it that doesnt include a form of telepathy unless you are using the peacock marculous its like saying you can hear the akumatized person's thoughts if you have the object with the akuma it just doesnt work like that as for being brain dead thats also not true as with senti bug or the mariculous eater (i forget its name) senti creatures typically do not feed off life energy to keep them afloat and can think like a sentient creature or person hence the name senti monster they are independent but can be slaves due to the nature of their existence, now the whole theory of adrien being or part a senti monster is based on the idea that adrien wasnt created with the same purpose as most senti monsters therefore probably took alot more power to make him even more independent and more like a human that can grow physically as for where the amok could be in other places than just rings after all if the theory of adrien being part senti monster meaning it was to bring him back to life it could be anything in the panic of trying to save him heck they probably dont even have it as it could of been lost like with the miraculous eater

Adding on to this theory, Adrien may be a sentimonster. We saw in the episode where Mayura made a senti-labybug, she was perfect nothing monster-like in here, just like Adrien.
I'm a Adrien/Chat Noir fan and never deny the many flaws you can easily see in Adrien Agreste.
OKAY, HEAR ME OUT, a very farfetched theory BUT, what if, for some unknown reason ,Emilie was a sentimonster and that's why she couldn't have kids, so in order for her and Gabriel to have kids together she had to use the peacock miraculous, and that could explain why her and Amelie look alike, because her parents could've used something that belonged to Amelie (anywhere from a favorite toy, to something like a strand of hair, i don't know) so that Emilie looked human and related to her sister instead of being suspiciously different looking and for that same reason when her a d Gabriel wanted a child, they took something from Felix so that Adrien looked human. and you might be wondering why wouldn't they look human, well, the only confirmed human sentimonster we have seen was 'ladybug' and to me it would make sense that you can't just create a person from thin air but you CAN make a replica where as a 'monster, their genetic makeup wouldn't be so hard cause you can easily draw a monster outta anything, but to make a person you've never seen before would be much more difficult. Also side theory from this, if Emilie and Adrien were to be sentimonsters connected from objects from their identicals, it would also make sense to me that they age WITH them not exactly with actual time.
Someone down below made a good point. Adrian means dark while Felix means lucky. Hmmm. I have this gut feeling that Felix will be the new chat noir.

And given production timelines and how thoroughly it was foreshadowed, it is literally not possible for it to have been 'inspired by the fandom.' The first line Felix says to Adrien is "Do you always do what your father tells you to do?" so it was definitely already planned at least by the time Felix was made, but there's also lines foreshadowing it as far back as season one
