Well played, anyone with the sheer dedication to do this is impressive, especially for Lucifer. I know the Lucifer fight in Chronicles has that Diarahan condition at 40k damage, and now I wonder if Nyarly's attempt at it buffless was affected by using the Maniax version to bypass the softlock and grinding? cause he does have that fight recorded, and yeah, Lucifer never uses Diarahan. Regardless, very well done on your part.
Just to let you know, the leveling up lowering magic damage, crit chance, and accuracy was all changed in the had version. The videos you linked are about the ps2 release.
Cant wait to watch this later!! I swear i watched the stream vods at least twice. Excited to see all your hard work editing this dense banger of a challenge run. Merry christmas Nitsua, thanks for the present.
32:25 This is so funny for some reason, and I didn't even know about the "Pisaca Situation" until I saw his comment section of his Run without Buffs or Debuffs of Strange Jorney (Because I thought it was a joke I didn't understand).
underrated channel, nice content as usual. I've been playing smt5 V recently and it is so much fun. In my opinion best jrpg now, in terms of gameplay. Hope You will do challenges in smt5V too. Thank you for great content!
Definitely a for a man challenge. It's interesting but dang this is pure hard and almost masochism at some points. Glad your sanity is intact right Nitsua?
That's a good question. Didn't realized that. So I looked at the stream footage and Dante got muted because I used a muscle drink to heal him. An item that has a chance of a negative side effect. I just didn't bother to cure the mute as there's no point in curing an ailment that means nothing in this challenge run.
You can totally escape battles on Hard! The chance is just 0%. And no, that isn't me fucking with you - if you bypass the chance check, you can escape. This is done by ailmenting all the enemies and then Escaping. In the remake, there's a weird bug where ailments get cured faster, so this is pretty annoying...though this is how low level runs of Nocturne are done; early game, you have to fish for Zio shocks to escape battles and if you fail, you have to reload your save - miserable stuff. Alternatively you can also just get an Aeros and Erthys before entering the network and talk to the battles to forcibly end them - doesn't work on Choronzon, though... Troll is easy, even on this run. All you have to do is use the 2 Mahama Rocks you have access to by this point. Troll has no resistance to them whatsoever so you can very well kill him off this and skip the fight entirely. There's no reason you have to even think about this one. Other challenge runs usually either ban Dark Might because it's really OP or are running solo where you can't get it, so Dante proves a real tough nut to crack. Doesn't help that his attacks have absurdly high accuracy (over 100%) so Sukukajas are mostly useless. Here, though, where Dark Might is literally the only thing you can grasp, he doesn't seem so bad. Watchful is 50% of EXP, btw. Cursed corridor halves HP with every three steps. So yeah, grinding HP doesn't really help much! You probably should be killing the Virtues on White Rider's fight. With what you were doing, they'd begin physically attacking you and that'd be bad, but if you swap out a demon every time you get to -4 Rakundas, they'll keep wasting their time doing it, and on each turn you kill them, the enemy gets three turns post-summoning the Virtues instead of their usual four. If you had a team of Repel Fire users, I could definitely see it being worth it to try to get White Rider to use Prominence to skip his turn entirely, but I don't think you did at this point. Puzzle Boy: lol git gud I absolutely get using a guide for this if you're here just for punching God in the face, but come on, you found the other puzzles fine, why not dedicate an afternoon to the block puzzle game? Level 19 is really stupid considering there's spam of 4 quadrillion blocks and you only have to use three of them but the rest is fine. For Girimehkala, why didn't you intentionally get Muted by random encounters? That solves the entire fight, doesn't it? I feel like Girimehkala should be totally fine if you just get phys null off Arahabaki and let that coast you to victory. You'd need a mind null to stop Arahabaki from giving extra turns to Panic Voice unless you got Arakabaki muted too but it still sounds preferable to grinding to level 58! For Red Rider, I still feel as long as you kill both Powers at the same time, then you're better off than leaving them alive. You can't Sukukaja buff, so you aren't getting avoids, so Red Rider gets one turn, they get one each, then he gets one after. If you kill them, he Dragon Eyes to five turns, uses two summoning them, they get one turn each, then he gets only one to attack you. Sounds like a decent option if you can't penalize his turns, and Attack Mirror spam is the only way to do that. Oh, also if you have at least 3 allies alive, and are particularly unlucky, Terrorblade can hit one target 3 times, like 3 trucks. Lol, lmao even. But yeah Dekaja Rocks make it fine. For Kin-Ki, you should've been throwing Mabufu Rocks. Unlike Girimehkala, he can be frozen, which nullifies his physical resistance. With that and Arahabaki he should be fine...keyword should because debuffs suuuuuuuuuuck. You can swap out demons to remove them like White Rider, though! Ah, at Pale Rider I now see why you've not been swapping out demons - because someone told you they have to die to have their stats reset. Well, sorry, not the case. You could've been swapping to cut your debuffs this whole time. Hey, at least this is the fight where that matters the least, since you can't swap out Demi-Fiend and he's what matters here! I'm still shocked you first tried this even overlevelled - -4 in all stats on Demi Fiend + Loas suiciding = game fucking over.
Cant wait to see demifiend sliding forward and punching demons for 3 hours straight
I like to think he could just walk up like a normal person but he has the sick sliding power and he's gonna use it.
Since I have a skill issue this challenge is just me playing the game normally 😎
Ah, what an amazing journey,
I was there & i can't wait to go on another journey~
What a... Strange Journey, you could say
@furiouscorgi6614 indeed let's just hope it's not the Last Surprise for us
@FankyRonald some Mass Destruction might happen if it was

Just to let you know, the leveling up lowering magic damage, crit chance, and accuracy was all changed in the had version. The videos you linked are about the ps2 release.
I'm pretty sure it was not changed, and there's definitely evidence of inferior magic damage and physical accuracy later in the run.
Jeez, the effort put into this is insane, you’re a g nitsua
This is a certified NitsuaGamer classic
Cant wait to watch this later!! I swear i watched the stream vods at least twice. Excited to see all your hard work editing this dense banger of a challenge run. Merry christmas Nitsua, thanks for the present.

oh yeah, we're eating good tonight boys.
How is Dante Sealed in the Ahriman fight? Hes supposed to be immune to Ailments.
That's a good question. Didn't realized that. So I looked at the stream footage and Dante got muted because I used a muscle drink to heal him. An item that has a chance of a negative side effect. I just didn't bother to cure the mute as there's no point in curing an ailment that means nothing in this challenge run.
@NitsuaGamer So I guess that means Muscle Drink ailments, unlike in SMT 5, can actually affect demons who should be immune.
3 hour SMT 3 challenge run, let's goooo!
1:49:42 FISH.
Ah can you beat nocyurne by mashing x
insane
