I showed this incredible workbench to my wife and she said it would make an amazing dining table! Oh, the humanity! The love and respect for the 500 year old tree, that is so apparent in this phenomenonal build transcendences traditional workmanship. You are a wood working god.

Agreed 100%. TH-cam is full of hipsters that have been fooled into believing they're "woodworkers" by an algorithm. This channel is actual woodworking. No pocket holes, no corners cut, no hiding errors with trim, etc. It is great to have another quality channel to look forward to learning from, because there aren't many left!
ps- I prefer the solid top as well.
I love how the things you make aren't simple straight lines etc. They're not simple, you put real thought into what you design & put huge effort into doing it well. Def one of the best workworking channels on YT imo!

I prefer the solid top as well. The opening in the split-top is just a catch-all for all the dust, chips, and that one tool you can't seem to locate.

Yeah bring art nouveau back.. that workbench looks like an elven workbench in the Lord of the Rings fantasy world, I just love elven architecture because it's art nouveau..

That is a design and skill level of making I have not seen, a true master of the craft. The table deserves to be in a dining room or Art Gallery for all to see! That design with the arc legs would make a fantastic dining table.👍

What a wonderful tribute to so ancient a tree.
I am constantly amazed at your skill repertoire, whether it be with large workshop machines, hand power tools or straight out hand tools. It is a joy for an 'old' man used to working with his hand tools to see you so happily transition to power tools to pure hand tools with such comfort & accomplishment. You will happily pick up a plane of any size or a chisel etc & use them with such great skill. This bench you have made may be a work station but it is also a work of Art & be admired as such. Some of the joints you worked out for this piece were so complicated but made to look relatively simple by your skills & thinking ability. Magnificent stuff my friend, I will watch this many times to come such was the pleasure for this old disabled man. Cheers, Don from South Aust.

Most people use a workbench to make a masterpiece but you made a masterpiece out of the workbench.
The bench is a work of art and this video about it was amazing I'm glad I found this channel.
Contrasting inlay strips on the joins between the bench top and the legs and supports would look awesome as an addition. Nether the less, an amazing bench and something I will look forward to building for my own shop once lumber prices are down.

I think I’d like to compliment this for what it is; an exercise in design and masterful technique. It is lovely to look at, very well made, and skillfully fitted. The hardware is superb. In the end, like many masterwork style pieces, it’s not super practical. However, you are a true craftsman. Well done!

This is not only a work bench it's a dining room table and piece of artwork as well. Ironically its much to beautiful to be a work bench. It's more of a look at and admire bench.
As the builder of my own Roubo style bench, I can only say Wow!! Napoleon Hill wrote 'Anything you can conceive and believe you can achieve'. -Veteran '66-68
As a US veteran suffering from PTSD and trauma from life’s ups n downs, I found woodworking as a way to cope and balance out life’s pressures. I find it quite relaxing, rewarding, satisfying, and sometimes complicated lol I love the masterpiece you’ve built. I would love to have the toys in your shop too. I love learning the various techniques and technologies used in woodworking. Great job my friend, a fan from MT
