A retired couple lost nearly £40,000 to scam artists after the scammers posed as Santander staff and requested that the couple transfer their savings to another account. The fraudsters used the bank’s fraud hotline number to appear on their caller ID, making the couple believe that they were talking to legitimate people. The elderly couple Douglas and Ruth Macfarlane lost their life savings and to this day are still waiting for their refund from Santander. Douglas and Ruth join us to warn others about this cruel scam.

Spoofing is easy best thing to do is hung up and call back the number on the card or better yet go to the bank.
Agreed so simple to do so the million dollar question is why doesn't everyone do that & that way scammers would be out of business
A fool and his money are easily parted.
I wouldn't have been a victim of that or any other scam I would have immediately phoned my bank, problem solved
Santander will never call YOU!
Poor poor presenters
Presenter says give their money back. But the couple gave it away to a stranger.
Yes and then ALL the people who have had issues will be on Santander for money back, if they can’t recover the stolen money then they can’t give it back.
The presenter looks like Tom Cruise
