    Hi,
    Great video.
    In my case I have a canon 5DMIV and non of the solutions works.
    When I connect the cable to the Mac, the Canon goes with “BUSY” message and in Lightroom the camera is not connected. 😩

    • @FrankDoorhof
      @FrankDoorhof  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure to double check the camera is not setup as mass storage but PC remote. If that doesn't work maybe try another cable.

      What do you need to know ?
      The connection is mini-b
      I would advise the IQwire cable with a pigtail from USBC to mini-b we sell that combination a lot and works flawless. Even on ipads

    I've been tethering my D810 to my macbook pro for a couple years now via a tether tools cable and the booster. During a shoot last month, the camera would no longer connect. I started trouble shooting and this is what I am noticing.
    1. I have the booster connector and when I plug it into the computer, the blue light stays lit.
    2. Once I plug in the cable to the booster, the blue light stays lit
    3. As soon as I plug the cable into the camera, the light goes off.
    I don't know if it is an issue with the port, or an issue with the booster. Any thoughts?

    • @FrankDoorhof
      @FrankDoorhof  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Does it work without the booster via a powered hub ?

    • @dgyoungphotos

    • @FrankDoorhof
      @FrankDoorhof  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't have any usb hub with an external power supply? Could be usb2?
      Otherwise to exclude defects try it on another machine

    • @dgyoungphotos
      @dgyoungphotos 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FrankDoorhof yeah, my understanding was that you only needed external power after a certain length of cord. I’ve tried it on both my Mac and my windows laptop.

    • @FrankDoorhof
      @FrankDoorhof  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Normally yes. But the problem is that sometimes the camera needs more than the computer gives. And some computers even put usb ports to sleep or in powersaving.
      If you test on 2 machines I would advise to test it with another cable. Probably the cable is defective

      @Cynowyn vreemd. Als je camera op de lijst staat en je hebt de software zou het moeten werken. Helemaal als je het in andere software wel voor elkaar krijgt.
      Je kan in Lr even de preferences wissen. Soms helpt dat. Anders is het zoeken welke software blokkeert. Je moet met lr wel vaak zorgen dat er absoluut geen andere tethering software open is. Op een Mac is het een kwestie van opnieuw opstarten omdat veel apps niet afgesloten worden maar actief blijven tenzij je echt zegt sluiten
