    Hi everyone - let me know if you have any questions about Quantifier in the comments below! :)

    Nice work Justin! I'm glad you showed examples of creating objects with the built-in tools rather than with Profile Builder. Some people don't realize that you can use Quantifier Pro to quantify any type of SketchUp geometry, not just ones created with Profile Builder.

    This looks very good, I might give it a go soon, thank you.
    What I do like about this, is how it's flexible and can use materials or tabs - things that are created anyway.

    Thanks for making cool SketchUp videos they are very informative 😃

    Hi Justin - is it possible to have a dynamic link between SketchUp and a spreadsheet, so that an update in the spreadsheet automatically updates SketchUp? What I would like to do is create my layers/tags in the spreadsheet with all their data, and then have SketchUp create the layers/tags from that? I'm trying to template my work, and this sort of reverse creating of layers/tags would work well for me. Looking forward to your thoughts :)

    Can Quantifier costs transfer between models? Having a bit of trouble doing that

    Hi Justin, I’ve only recently started using quantify. Like yourself I use standard codes e.g 09_M Stone Crusher 19mm, 10_M River Sand, 11_M Plaster Sand, however quantify a doesn’t seem to keep a recording of the codes used when I open a new project. This means that I need to re-enter my codes and their descriptions on every new project. Is there a way in quantifier to record all your codes and their descriptions, so as to use them continuously without having to re-enter them on each project?

    Hi- I bought the extension because of this video! When doing my material report- it does not include the waste %?

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know the answer to this. Where did you apply the waste? Was it a material based calculation? A calculation based on the area of an object? Did you run the same report I did?

    Another great video, Justin! As an estimator in the construction industry would you say this is one of the best estimating plugins you've come across for Sketchup? Thanks!

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I'd say so - there's another "estimator" extension from John Brock that I haven't really tested much. This one seems to be the most polished so far

      @@Thesketchupessentials is this what you use professionally?

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Z-add Not for large projects - since I work for a large commercial firm, we get a large majority of our models in Revit rather than SketchUp. Obviously you can't use a SketchUp extension to quantify a Revit model. I would definitely use it for smaller projects where I have more control over the SketchUp model though

    Thanks for helpful vid. If I had 3 different thicknesses of stud, eg 4 x2, 6 x 2, 2, 2, on a layer/tag called "Studs" would I actually need to create 3 layers to get a cost per linear foot for each type of stud? I am worried about my layer/tag list becoming bloated if thats the case. Thank again

    i hope this plugin could earn their expected profit but the functional design is below expectation that you should warn the developer the improved version:
    1...various materials related to cost table item by mouse click, 2...timeline specifier to apply on different layers built for he models at different period of time, 3...generate section cuts from the built layers with several default animation options to show progress for user to select & present to boss......otherwise the plugin is for free....

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well first of all - you don't get to dictate what features are required before a developer can charge for their extension. For item 1 - you can already relate costs to materials in the extension. Item 2 - I think you could do this with different layers, but are you actually creating cost loaded schedules? Otherwise why would you want this? And for 3 - you can create these animations in SketchUp already.
