Just watch both videos and I'll say this was the most thorough and simple pre-trip inspection of a bus I have come across. I know my fair share of a bus's aspect - transit/bus hobbyist - but I am not an operator as of yet. Going for my class-B and just need a refresh of information. I will be re-watching this video up until and throughout my six-day course.
Forgot to make sure the emergency door at back is secure when open, should’ve wiped the oil dip stick, transmission fluid gets checked while bus is running, roof hatch should’ve been opened, and you need to make sure your emergency exit door and window stickers are there and not peeling, and wipers
You should've opened the roof hatch completely, to check that the rubber is not glued to the roof... I'm in NJ and you have to do it here... just saying...
You can do it however you want, just cannot miss anything. The way he did it generally saves time. Because he was demonstrating, it took longer than it might for an experienced operator who knows it by heart.
This video was for the pre-trip inspection, not the post-trip inspection, so that is why it wasn't included. Adjusting the mirrors would only be required if they weren't already adjusted to your preference.

You do not check transmission fluid while the bus is running...
