      I live in North Dakota. I’m 25 years old and a mom of a 2 and 1 year old. I likely wouldn’t be able to travel. I did get a referral from my dentist for sleep apnea and cronic headaches. I feel like I’m choking on my tongue at night. I hope this ends up going somewhere. Thank you!

      It cost me about 2000$ in my country called Nepal for 2 upper teeth. But i had my gum loss in that new gap, my orthodontist was saying new implants wont last long and to close that gap again.
      Gums above my teeth have visibly come out with the roots of my teeth but gum above that gap slightly moved inwards, looks like implants wont fit properly
      I decided to put implant since almost gap is made. Hope i could get good suggestion. Hope i could live relief.
      If you decide consider this.

      @@N.L.-ul9ld I've been to countless doctors, but most doctors do not know anything when it comes to TMJ disorders and especially when you've had your premolars removed. I went to a doctor back in 2011 and he was a neuromuscular dentist and he was able to cure me then and he's the one that diagnosed me properly. He told me they should have never removed my premolars. My lower jaw protrudes back and it cuts my airway off now and I have no room for my tongue. My vertigo is screwed up and it has affected my speech. And I also get symptoms that are similar to Parkinson's disease. I'm in chronic pain and muscle tension in my neck and shoulders. I have chronic anxiety. The neuromuscular dentist was able to help me back in 2011 and I had no issues until I was in a car accident in 2015 and it shattered my repositioning plate that he made for me unlock my jaw back out of place. I went back to see him but he would not take my case on a second time because he was getting ready to retire and he said my case was too complex. So I've been looking for a doctor ever since. I did find one in Houston, but he wants $80,000 and it's not covered by insurance. And for those that are unaware that you can apply for disability due to TMJ disorder. The neuromuscular dentist could have fixed it permanently back in 2011 but it would have cost me $1,500 per tooth on my lower jaw. Didn't have the money for that so I had to go the cheapest route which was still 3500 add to my pocket.

    Hi Dr.Hang, how can I become apart of helping spread this information and helping orthodontist change this! I am a dental assistant also suffering from this! This is tremendously important and I’ve gone from orthodontist to orthodontist saying they can’t help me! I have breathing problems, constant headache and neck pain, I can’t breathe making me tilt my head back, and I feel like the muscles in my face aren’t supported having an effect on my mood and face! It took away my natural beauty as well I’m 22 suffering from this! I also almost lost my job recommending a parent not to have those teeth pulled as my doctor suggested, I had to give them perspective from someone who suffers from this! I couldn’t let that little girl go through the exact same thing as me I showed her parents a before and after of me and they questioned, that’s you? I explained to them and they saw exactly what I was talking about, this procedure should be illegal or considered malpractice in certain circumstances, I had mild crowding, that is the treatment they chose and now I have constant pain, emotional stress, and overall health issues because of this! How can I receive treatment? But more importantly how can I help become spar of helping other people!?

    I also had my upper premolars extracted to match my upper jaw to my underdeveloped lower jaw when I was in my late teens. Unfortunately my jaws never supported each other and I’m in braces again at 36. My current orthodontist wants to retract again although the extraction spaces opened up on their own quite well. @@timschulze4162 I see. I hope it will be fine. In my case, i had 2 premolar extractions with my upper jaw (ortho nerver tried to analyse my tongue posture (i had a restricted tongue-tie)). Other orthodontists told me the treatment is done and that they don't want to expand and reopen a correct alignment. I have pratically all the extractions and mouth breathings aftermath. I will try to see an ENT and a maxillofacial surgeon specialised in sleep. In my country, if your anatomicals aspects block your airway or damage you some functionnal aspects, you can get a free jaw surgery.
      Even if some ortho agree about extractions and expenders, they still only consider orthodontic results and not functionnal aspects when they see you as an adult, it's really sad. The only thing I know, now, is that my kids (if I have ones in the future) will never have to deal with those sorts of problems, i can assure you that.

    • @X11CHASE
      @X11CHASE 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Use your common sense to figure out what’s refractive or not. Is the planned movement forward or backward. If something is being moved back to compensate than that’s retraction. If something’s being moved forward to compensate-that’s what’s ideal. (Unless of course the patient already has “too much” ‘forward growth,’ at which point anyone could easily justify a retractive approach

      I do. There was nothing wrong with them, just a few small cavities, and some gum tissue overgrowth on the lower ones, but they were straight. I foolishly caved in to the advice from the oral surgeon ( who insisted that they are not necessary) and my mother, who never got me dental care as a child, ( fir whatever her neurotic reason, she didn't believe in dental care, and even tried to pressure my into have my second lower molars removed , just because of a small cavity.
      All I wanted was the cavities treated and the excess gum tissue removed, but they nagged at me saying that Wisdom teeth would cause problems. Removing them didn't affy my face shape, but, still, they are part of one's body, and shouldn't be needlessly taken out
      One of my biggest regrets.
