@@roflchopter11 For sure, DA/SA is my jam... CZ P07 being my personal fave... But I like the novelty of the rotating barrel design... And it doesn't hurt that most variants ARE DA/SA...
@@roflchopter11 Yeah... The optics ready gun is almost becoming mandatory these days... The tactical variant I hear is both optics and silencer ready... With a better trigger to boot... But the general pistol's trigger gets much better over time...
Thank you John for the bit about the C-clamp - made a huge difference in my grip. I was putting *way* too much pressure at my fingertips and tended to hit left even when I wasn't anticipating the bang.

Do you think it’s worth it to get a .22lr version of your EDC to practice at the range with? Or are the differences between .22lr and 9mm too vast for it really to be beneficial. Just got a range membership and trying to not break the bank on ammo too bad.

It's a double action/single action. I own a DA/SA (CZ-75) and I love it. The heavy double action trigger pull acts as a safety to prevent NDs, then after it cycles you have the light SA pull for follow up shots. I personally carry it Condition 1 (locked and cocked) so I have to remember to disengage the safety but I can get the light SA pull on my first shot.
I'm not a big fan of clearing by touch. I'm a mechanic and I've seen pins meant to hold stuff randomly let go. And that's spring loaded. Sticking your finger in isn't the best idea in my opinion.
@@neilweidner7037 that's also a fair point. Which is why I'm all for a double visual check. But safe gun handling is safe gun handling and puting your fingers in the way of spring loaded stuff isn't safe.
You get to do you. This is a pretty acceptable way to confirm that a gun is unloaded among folks in the industry. That doesn’t mean you have to do it that way but with my child on the range, I appreciate the extra steps.
@@neilweidner7037 i know. I see a lot of other channels recommending to do it by touch too. I've just got to many alarm bells in my head from work to be at all comfortable doing it that way.
@@Direwolf1166 I do the chamber check with my pinky finger as a compromise; it's definitely worth doing the manual check because it can be done in low light/no light, but I wouldn't use my trigger finger to do it in case of something somehow happening to it.
