Yeah from personal experience I had a really bad time with wiccans when i was 18 i tried to get into the religion and honestly it was mostly just people roleplaying had nothing to do with casting spells infact most wiccans i know will only maybe try a spell once every like 7 years, and a lot of wiccans are very much like Christians in terms of how they believe in certain diety's ect and why i say their like Christians is cause they worship them pretty much the same way.
Now witches i met outside of wiccans are honestly a lot more fascinating to me cause many are heavy practioners they don't just do it every sunday ect. (not saying all wiccans do that but just ones I knew)

Thorn hit the nail on the head: we're all weird in our own ways. Our task is to learn to embrace and celebrate our collective weirdness and understand that the weird that works with you may not be the weird that works with me, but that is totally ok. What is never ok is using your weirdness as a tool to abuse others. Basically, do you unless "you" is an asshole.

In spellwork, that's a reminder for me to put in the effort towards whatever that spell was for. I usually place them around the house in places I know I'll see them. And for tarot, I believe that what my initial thoughts on the reading are is a look into my subconscious and a window to how I really feel about a situation.

    • @BUGHUNTER6
      @BUGHUNTER6 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

@@darkljs That's aaalmost accurate. The name "Satanism" does come from Satan, because Satanists have their own interpretation of him and hold him as an important symbol. The thing is that most Satanists don't actually worship him as if he is or was ever a real person or being. Of course beliefs vary, but most believe in Satan/Lucifer as a particular collection of human traits (like rebellion against and liberation from religious authority, self-love and acceptance, rational thought, pursuit of knowledge, among other things) and we can "call upon him" from within to empower ourselves. While Wicca isn't directly tied to Satan, originally most witches were thought to be pagans doing the Devil’s work. Many were simply natural healers or so-called “wise women” whose choice of profession was misunderstood. So there's obviously a gigantic Biblical and historical connection between witchcraft and the idea of Satan. But yeah, the most important take-away is that the Christian idea of Satan as pure evil does not reflect neo-pagan beliefs

@@artiekirby8826 hey, just to let you know luciferians don’t worship the “literal devil” they worship Lucifer. in christianity these may be the same thing, but they actually have very distinct differences. it’s the difference between worshiping evil incarnate or the “light bringer”. Lucifer (also known as the morning star) is a symbol of liberation and the pursuit of knowledge. of course, beliefs vary so some worship him as a being while others follow him as symbolism. all in all, i understand where you’re coming from as i made the same mistake when i first started out :)

As a practicing witch, I loved getting to hear others journeys in their spirituality and what their beliefs mean to them. What I practice is about setting intentions and creating positive energy in my environment and within myself. One of them spoke about it not being so focused on belief and more focused on the act of doing it, I believe that is so true especially regarding my spiritual beliefs. I love these so much, can’t wait to see more! 🥰

I'm sorry you've been taught to think this, it simply isn't true. I practiced witchcraft for over 20 years. I started out as a Gardnerian wiccan and later I became an eclectic witch and a Celtic pagan. Over time it took a dark turn when I made a pact with my then goddess to protect a family member. After three nights of chanting in tongues she told me she wanted two of my organs. A year later, I was in the hospital with organ failure both in my gallbladder and pancreas. For a week I lay in the hospital while the doctors were stumped, they couldn't find out what was wrong with me. They performed surgery on my pancreas first, they had to cut some of it away. Then they removed my gallbladder. While I was in the hospital I prayed to my goddess and all I saw was empty blackness. Earlier that day my cousin and her husband came by and held my hand and prayed to Jesus, and I thought, well, they mean well. And after seeing the black void, I prayed to Jesus for the first time in 20 years and felt guilty because I was betraying my goddess. I remained a pagan witch for a year after the surgery. While laying in bed pondering over my life, I decided to give Catholicism another try. Returning to the Church was a heluva culture shock, but over time I got used to it. So, now I'm going to teach you one thing that I learned through being a pagan witch. I had great faith and beautiful love for my deity and the craft, (before it tried to attack me). When I returned to the Catholic Church I applied that same natural love and faith to Jesus. In fact since I've returned, that love and faith grew so much that it gushes out and I find myself wanting more. I have love for the Catholic Church, which is the very institution Jesus founded. It's only been about 2 years since I've come back and I've learned so much, yet I feel that there's a lot more I need to experience in my life and faith in Jesus. I turned 50 just a few months ago, and I wish I knew way back then what I know now. So, I'm talking to you now, not being condescending in any way that you're going to regret this path. It's not a matter of if, but when. Are you going to be as old as I am when you realize the mistake? Or are you going to be smarter than I am and change now while you're still young?
This turned out to be a lot longer than I thought, so I apologize for the rambling.

Been doing a fair bit of research about Wicca as of late, mainly looking for inspiration about how to write the magic system in a book I'm working on, it was really nice to hear some about it through this! It's seriously fascinating, and it's really not as outlandish as people think; belief in what you're doing, even if it's a placebo, can genuinely help people, after all.

I grew up doing a Wiccan prayer before bed, slowly building a toolbox of stones and crystals, and doing spells with my mom. It's nice to see that people are more open to it now. I always had to hide it as a kid. I've been learning Tarot the last 2 years because it was one element I didn't learn when I was younger. It really is all about setting an intention that will help you be in the right mindset to achieve your goal not doing a spell that will do the work for you.

As a Witch of 20+ years I appreciate this video. I am not Wiccan but do practice witchcraft and follow an Earth based spiritual path that I enhance with Buddhist teachings. I consider myself a modern traditional witch and I have taught witchcraft for going on 10 years. I really do appreciate this video. I believe that it answers some of the most common questions that I have been asked over the years. Even though I am not Wiccan, I believe that their answers were accurate and the magick bag spell was on point (I love that she provided the materials and let you use you intuition to pick what went in the bag instead of doing the spell for you.) No we don't worship the devil/Satan/Lucifer or work with demons. In fact, most of us don't believe in those entities at all. We do not think of our path as a cult as it is used in modern language, we believe that our spirituality is our spiritual truth and that it is just as valid as any other mainstream spiritual path. A spell is a decision to manifest change in our lives, we don't believe that the Powers that Be will do all the work, we do believe that we have to still work for our goals and that the Powers that Be will just give us a boost towards completing our goal. (I used the phrase "Powers that Be" because in this path because it is a generalized term to describe a higher power or power of the self. Some people that practice witchcraft are atheist and believe in the power of self and not a higher power.) As a general overview of the Wiccan tradition and witchcraft I have no issue with this video. Good job Anthony Padilla!
Btw, just finished a book by Thorn Mooney a few weeks ago... Highly recommend her works...

I never really fit in and eventually was kicked out for not being “Christian” enough. Since choosing the pagan/ occult path at the begin of this year, I have never been more happy and free to be myself. You need to repent of this sin, your attendance to these Christians events as a child means nothing regarding your heart. Everyone is imperfect, everyone has rebelled against God’s Law, yet God loves us and has offered forgiveness through Jesus’ atonement on the cross. This is the message of God and if one understands this they would not seek solace in witchcraft. Jesus saved me from new age practice in 2019, I practiced meditation, ancestral worship, mudras, chants, scrying, etc.
Maybe some reading this assumed im just some stuck up hypocritical caricature of a “Christian” like the world wants you to believe, but in reality I grew up in the same world as you, seeking fulfillment & acceptance, experiencing rejection from hypocritical people that even claim to be of God, but these people do not represent the full message of God and His character, only He does.

It's so interesting how much wicca bounces off of native American culture. We use pouches too, we call them medicine pouches. We put essentially whatever you want that helps you stay grounded, when you're feeling anxious, sick etc. For me I got sage, sweet grass, tobacco, bear root, and a turtle trinket my dad got my mom and I one year for Valentine's day. We can also share to others what we have in there if we please. Mine was made by an amazing native elder and he also put a blessing in there. You're supposed to wear it all the time except for like sleep, shower and something that could break it. You also can decorate the outside. Mine has our tribes colors on it made out of beads. I recently made my brothers and he hangs it over his bedroom at night. To feel comfort. Its a really great and cool thing and I love teaching what I know about it but I also wanna learn more as well.

As a Wiccan and a practitioner (witch) I would explain magic in this way, when we test light to see if it's a particle or a wave... It actually depends on if we watch it or not. If you observe light it can appear like either a particle or a wave if not observed(I'm not sure of which is which) we also know matter is affected the same way. If you create an intense emotional reaction with intent for a certain outcome, I believe you can affect the matter or light surrounding this desire... Affect the universe.

hii! i've been wiccan for about a year, learning from my dad who claims to be a wiccan priest, and i love the way you're able to correctly portray wicca. a lot of people automatically assume it to be like little kids mixing mud, salt, and water and saying if you drink it youll become a mermaid, or they see it as devil worship. My christian ex bf/current best friend isnt the most understanding and has sceptically asked if what i do is even real and scientifically proven. that has really stuck with me and i have grown to be a little insecure of being wiccan because theres so many people who dont understand dont try to open their minds to fully get it so they just make assumptions and say rude things. It has helped me to grow more comfortable in different ways though and it is great for my own self-improvement and i love doing what i do, just people are rude and cannot keep to themselves sometimes which is rather disappointing. bless it be, everyone

Not exactly. It uses Affirmations and goal focusing but in a ritual setting with "props" that have actual meaning to us. It differs from purely "the placebo effect" by also using prayer and connection to a deity, at least that was what I was taught. I've been doing this for 35 years, and at this point I mostly have let go of the "props". It still works. I believe my Tradition is more deity focused than some, and our Deities are very real to us.
