The creature Boba killed looks like a creature created by Ray Harryhausen from his old movies like "Mighty Joe Young" (1949), "The 7th Voyage of Sinbad" (1958), "Jason and the Argonauts" (1963) which featured a sword fight with seven Skeleton Warriors, and "Clash of the Titans" (1981). Just fantastic.
I really enjoy how the Disney Era of Star Wars has given more depth to the Tusken Raiders on screen, they’re not just savage beasts, and have some complexity to their culture, and what it means when you earn their respect. Judging by his Attire when we saw him in Mandalorian, Boba was taught the ways of a Tusken Raider, including their methods of combat using the Gaffi stick.
What I find interesting is how there seems to be different tribes of Tuskens. For example, the tribe shown in Mando were a lot more open to trading/interacting with outsiders. Meanwhile, the tribe shown here seem a lot more raidey and brutal, not unlike the tribe that kidnapped Shmi back in Ep 2. Just goes to show that no matter where you go, there’ll always be good and bad people.
I thought the Goro character was stupid looking at first, but then i realized his look is perfectly in keeping with original trilogy rubber mask/stop motion animation characters. As Kyle says "big dumb rubber heads" characters.

Solid start to the new series. Can't wait to see more, Boba Fett has been my second favorite character, after Darth Vader, since I got into Star Wars 18 years ago. I've missed Star Wars shows so much.
When Boba tunnels his way out of the Sarlaac, where did he put the sand? Tunneling your way out an underground trap is dangerous...you might get buried alive!

Boba Fett can be summarized in one word: Beastly!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏👏💪💪💪💪. Seeing live action Kamino for a brief second is super cool, and the music in the background is perfection. I’m excited for next week.
In the legends book Takes from Jabba's Palace Max Rebo and the Band survived Jabba's sail barge and escaped before the explosion. Looks like maybe he was playing in that cantina.
I think the scene the little sand person showing what happened at the moisture farm was the sand people showing Boba how bandits etc attacked people then made it look like a tusken raider attack. Like the empire did to the jawas in a new hop
Great to see you guys together again and your reaction video. I've never been a big Boba fan but this was a cool 1st Ep. Seeing that multi-armed sand thing reminded me of the Kraken by Ray Harryhausen from the old Clash of the Titans film. Totally looking forward to the next episode.
If we get more of the Matt Berry droid I will be very happy. FYI, Disney moved everything to Wednesday from Friday starting with the Loki series last June. I think it was because they wanted to free up Friday nights and encourage people to go to the movies (Marvel or general Disney) on that night.

same. always checked out these guy's episode reviews for the mandalorian, its nice seeing people who have an extensive knowledge on the lore of star wars talk about the show.
The part where Boba escapes the Sarlaac pit is an exact re-creation of Patton Oswalt's description from the iconic Star Wars filibuster scene in Parks and Rec. I'm not sure if that's a coincidence or if Favreau did it that way on purpose as an intentional reference lmao

I think that the kid that beats Boba up at night is the chief’s son and heir. And since Tuskens are known to be warlike, he probably sees this as a way to prove himself as a “warrior.” Or he was just trying to flex for beating a tired slave.
Brought to you by Disney+ and created by Jon Favreau starring Boba Fett as he survived the Sarlaac Pit. Now free he, alongside his companion Fennic Shen, try to establish himself as a crime boss. But becoming a leader brings about more difficulty than expected
The episode answered some questions, but it left a major question hanging in the air. How long was Fett in the sarlacc pit? I do not think his escape was a recent event. I have the gut feeling that Fett must undergo regular bacta treatments for the rest of his life.
my favorite part of the episode is at the end the kid takes credit for the kill, which is why everyone is patting him on the back. but the elder knows better, which is why he gives boba the water
Ok, it was creeping me out that Bendu is on the right side of the screen. Episode 2 review needs to have him on the normal side of the screen, where he belongs!!! :O)
I loved it. What they are doing with the show appeals to my sensibilities and the only thing that pissed me off was that it ended. Roll on 2022. BTW, so good to have you both back at it. So very awesome.
You guys continue to be my favorite reactors for Star Wars content. You guys are so knowledgeable. I always learn something new. Also, have you ever played the mobile game Star Wars, Galaxy of Heroes? They just added Kyle Katarn to the game.
Yeah they took the approach from the books, which I love, Boba's armor isn't Beskar in the books, its Durasteel, so the scaring you see on his face, neck, and chest is from the Sarlacc's digestion acid. You also see the Sarlacc tentacles slumped over, so it's possible the explosion from the sail barge killed it with the shock wave, or severely injured it, which allowed Boba to burn a whole through its side and exit. Either way it was masterfully done, I'm really excited for what happens next ... I wanted so much more for Ep 1, but I will take quality over quantity.
They're releasing these Wednesday because they don't want them to conflict with future Movie releases on Friday. - Loved the reaction as always. - LOVED the episode and really made me like Boba SO MUCH MORE
Boba and Fennec have clearly known each other way before The Mandalorian. Maybe we'll see their first meeting in a Bad Batch episode. And yeah, the desert creature looks like Goro crossed with the Gorn from Star Trek
I didn't really have any expectations for this, pet alone I really wanted, that said, I was pleasantly surprised by it, and the sarlaac scene was a surprise and really cool, was not expecting them to go full live action hemtai with it like they did... But that whole no/low dialog opening was majestic loved every second.
The funniest moment was when Boba, beat the kid, ran away beat the Doggo, the Queen of that Tusken Tribe herself beat the s..it out of Boba and got him chained in the camp. In his state of training and condition even a Tusken Woman could kill him at a whim. But in the end he saved the Chieftain's kid and got the praise he deserved by sharing a drink with the big man. ))) P.S.: I got a Django Unchained vibe from that one. )))
Boba was seriously weakened by his time in the Sarlac and was extremely dehydrated. One imagines that the Tusken warrior trained all her life to fight with her staff. In melee combat the person with the longer reach weapon has a really big advantage. Boba is extremely tough and skilled but he is not superhuman. Him getting the shit beaten out of him by the Tusken is the realistic outcome.
