Book videos are my favorites. If you still have your circut you can add the book covers to cricut design space adjust the size and print and cut onto sticker paper. I use window cling as the material setting and less for the blade pressure so it cuts like a sticker sheet instead of die cut stickers.
I do have it, I just find this to be super easy and honestly my cricut is frustrating
I love this kind of videos. Please do it every month!
I’ve never been much of a reader. I’ve been following you since you first started your channel because of your planner content. But now, I look forward to these videos about the books you’ve read! I’ve learned to really enjoy audio books and have listened to 15 in the last 2 1/2 months! 5 of those are Abby Jimenez books. Love her books! Can’t wait to check out some of the new authors you you read last month. Thanks for sharing!
I love Better than the Movies too! It was the first book I ever read in English (not my first language) and it was such an easy read it pushed me forward. On Lynn's website, there are bonus free chapters that tell the most iconic moments from Wes's POV. I highly recommend reading those for some extra fluff!!
I would LOVE more content like this. I find you so relatable and interesting. Also I think we might have similar tastes in books. I read The Teacher and loved it!
I didn’t connect with A Man Called Ove, don’t feel bad 😎I had to dnf it. I was reading an Elin H every summer for years but lost interest. I still enjoyed the many I read.
❤️ this was fun ! Now you are a Booktuber! 🎉
PS I’m 57 and can’t keep people straight anymore so I put all the characters with a one word description on a sticky note and keep it handy.
@@cherylmusgrove7I love this idea!
Love these kind of videos! You inspired me to set up a journal too! I love reading!
Omggggg I finished reading The Nightingale over a month ago and I can’t stop thinking about it. And yes I was sobbing in the end.. that part.. you know the one… I couldn’t.. it was so sad and beautiful…
❤ Kristin Hannah. The Four Winds is also excellent. I also really enjoyed Frozen River by Ariel Lawson.
A Man Named Ove is one of my favorites!! I never realized he’s 59 years old… I assumed he was much much older. Also, I think that about 20 years ago people in their late 50’s didn’t know what iPads are….
The people I knew in their 50s and 60s did lol
Hi! I’ve been watching your channel for years now, and you are one of my favorites that I continued to watch. Thank you for just being you.❤
I really enjoyed watching this video with all your book reviews. I missed the one where you set it up, so I’ll have to go back and watch that one. I love to read and have read some of the books that you talked about. Kristin Hannah‘s books are fantastic. I read Nightingale awhile back (profound, and definitely stays with you), and I am about to start The Women.
Keep doing all the things that you love and sharing it with us. I appreciate you!
I love this type of videos and seeing you put the book stickers. My favorite book genre is romantic dramas and who done it. I also tend to read comedies or courtroom mysteries.
Loved this, Mary Ellen! Would be so happy to watch you update this every time, as well as your fitness/health journal.
Abby Jimenez is one of my favorites, too. I haven't read Ove yet but I absolutely loved Anxious People by Backman. It's quirky and moving. I always tell people to stick with it because things are revealed in layers. For an easy to read book I would suggest One Last Day of Summer by Shari Low. If you'd like a new thriller author, I really like Charlie Donlea's books.
Hi Mary Ellen! I love seeing how you set up your reading journal and hearing your thoughts on the books!!! Please keep it coming! I already follow you on good reads!! 🎊 ❤
I loved Kristin Hannah’s The Four Winds 💕📚
Going out to the local Public Library keeps me from being isolated. Large print books have become my friends (when a publishing house prints it in LP.) And of course you can also borrow audiobooks and eBooks, on specialized apps like Libby. No commitment to purchase and store a title you don't like. (As you probably realize since you mentioned the library.) The local library also has all kinds of free events you can participate in, if you chose. It forces me to plan to be out of the house, meet people and talk with people, and even learn new skills. I also find out about other activities I can participate in out in the community. Nice video, do enjoy these.
Other great historical fiction pieces are by Kate Quinn. The Alice Network and The Rose Code
I’m from England and your last video inspired me to go to my local library with a list of books that sounded interesting from your video but sadly they did not have a single one. 😞 I will try again! Maybe they will have The Nightingale.
I may have to check out the nightengale!
I especially like this video and appreciate the book recommendations! I felt the same way about The Switch - cute plot but it got too boring I didn't finish it. Good to know it wasn't just me
Yes, was disappointing! It could have been done so well.
I love your reading journal updates (additive) and watched two in a row...just found you today.
I just have to help you out with your bingo card...Christina Lauren are two authors (multiple authors). If you haven't read Love & Other Words, I highly recommend.
Thanks for the great content! Your journal is so fun and beautiful 😍.
Yes I knew that and forgot!
Having a video about your Kindle reading Insights and what book you pick for Amazon 1st reads would be a lot of fun as well.
I love your channel and your reading journal 😍 I haven't read a novel for over a decade as undergrad killed my joy for reading. This month I read The Nightingale as I saw you were reading it. I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN! I read that book in 2 days 😂 Like you, I teared up several times and at the end, I was crying so much because they had been through so much suffering. I am so glad I read it so thank you ♡♡♡ Keep being you.
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Great book to get over a reading slump.
I totally agree about “The Nightingale”!
I started a book journal to after watching your video, you always inspire me. There are some Elin Hildebrand books I didn’t care for too. I’ve been reading a couple of beach series books from Jan Moran, fluff but light hearted. I read The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah, also first book I read by here and it made me cry so many times, I even dreamt of it. I have a few books from her to read but I keep falling asleep which is so maddening! I haven’t ever done audio books, not sure if I can stay focused if I’m doing other things at the same time. Keep on reading!
Love this! I started a book journal last year and am really enjoying it. I love seeing what you come up with for journal pages. Keep it up, please!
I love Kristin Hannah. I haven’t read The Nightingale yet, but it’s on my list. Kristen Harmel also writes great historical fiction. The Forest of Vanishing Stars is amazing.
I read Meredith, Alone after you talked about it in another video. It was great, too, also a 4 star read for me. My daughter just finished Better Than the Movies and loved it as well. I’ll read it soon, too.
I love your bullet journal videos bc you make bullet journals seem manageable instead of tedious and totally overwhelming
I am really enjoying the reading journal updates! Keep ‘em coming!
I absolutely love these videos! Might be my fav video from you so far this year
I LOVED the quiet tenant. It was a four star for me. Read it in 3 days. I am in my thriller era so I felt that the ending could have been better but the way it’s written is dark and freaky and I loved it.
I liked The Only One Left as well. It was another 4 star for me for the same reason as the Quiet Tenant.
I bought Meredith alone and the nightingale based on your recommendations. Thanks for sharing your book journal with us. I love this aspect of your life. Hope you’re doing well❤
I wasn't a fan of a Man Called Ove either, it got a little better at the end but the majority of the book was pretty bleh, I couldn't tell you what it was about 🤣 and I didn't realize he was only 59!! that is not old at all! a book I read recently that I loved that I think you might like was The Travelling Cat Chronicles.
I love to see these. The reading and health journals are great. Thank you for sharing. I’ve made a list from your videos of books to look up.
Love this type of video!
Okay here are some of my reads. Love your reading journal videos. The longest was My Name is Barbra by Barbra Streisand, The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford and 5/8 James Herriot books in the All Things Great and Small series. I have read 16 books since February 17, after zero reads last few years. Love your content!!
Don't forget Swan Song by Elin Hilderbrand (I didn't see it on your author list). It's so good! 🤯
I have it reserved!
I read Summer of 69 by Elin Hilderbrand in June. I really enjoyed that one of hers. I recently read Birding With Benefits by Sarah T. Dubb. It's a romance where they fake date to win a birding contest. They are older divorced people and I just really enjoyed having empty nesters in a romance. The Nightingale is one of my most favorite books. Another of hers that made me sob was The Women. That is her newest release about army nurses in Vietnam. It makes you weep for what our country did to our military during and after that war. My current read is The Briar Club by Kate Quinn, one of my favorite historical fiction authors. Loving it so far!
I love these videos and I like how you've set up your reading journal. I've never done one and I'm getting some great ideas.
I love these videos! I've gotten lots of books to add to my TBR lists from you and I've really enjoyed them!
Glad you like them!
I learned recently that there are some books in Kindle unlimited that also have an audio option that is included. So you can read with your kindle then listen and it keeps up with where you are in the book in both. Not sure if I explained that well, but it’s nice to have the option for both without paying extra.
I love Reading Journal updates. Man Called Ove is on my TBR for this month so now I'm even more curious about it.
Most people love it!
Love these videos! It's interesting hearing about each book! Thanks for sharing 😊
The Women will be my favorite book of the year. I know this and it’s only July. It was absolutely riveting. And horrifying. It had all the emotions! I hope you really like it!
Can’t wait for my library copy to come in!
Inspiring me to grab a book -kh
Kristin Hannah and Elin Hildebrand are two of my favorite authors!
The “T” in LGBT by Dr. Jamie Raines is excellent it follows a trans man journey to find himself the audio book is him and his wife as the narrator.
Love your star system! I’m totally copying it. 😊
I feel like that text message romance book could easily turn into a thriller book 😅
Loved this video, thank you so much for sharing 🤩😍
Have you tried any of the Catherine Coulter Sherlock series? It’s about a couple that works for the FBI. Really great!
Ive been on a Lisa Jewell kick lately! Have really liked most of the ones Ive read so far!
Watch the movie a man called Otto which is based on that book. I think you will have a better appreciation ache book. A case of where movie is better than book
Kristin Hannah is goopd!
I liked The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah and The Five Star Weekend by Elin Hillderbrand.
I love books so I would love more content like this. I’ve never read any of those books. I’m more of a dark romance reader.
I really enjoyed "The Nightingale" and "The Women" by Kristin Hannah, also read the her book "The Four Winds", such a good story.....until it wasn't. Probably the worst ending of a book since "Cold Mountain".
We like a lot of the same books. Here’s a couple for you to try, I use Libby exclusively as I have eye trouble. Mary Jane by Jessica Anya Blau, The Bookwoman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson, and one of my all time favorites, The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See. You will love it! I wish we could chat about all the books we have both loved
Book Woman is an all time favorite of mine. In case you didn’t know, there’s a sequel, Book Woman’s Daughter.
@@deetee8100 yes, thank you for commenting. It is on my list. Sometimes books on Libby are hard to get when you want them so many are on hold.
YA literature is one of my fave genres because they get some of the best books. A friend who is a teacher says that it's because they work harder to entice kids to read. Don't waste your time trying to read anything by Tolstoy. I HIGHLY recommend "James" by Percival Everett and the Bridgerton series. Also, Fairy Tale by Stephen King is not like other books he's written. There is suspense, but only very brief explicit violence. It started a little slow, but I found it very compelling.
I’d never read Tolstoy, sounds absolutely miserable lol
I loved "Archer's Voice! But I didn't care for how the middle did drag on. And then everything 'major' happens right at the end. It has hard to keep an interest.
You can do a five stars plus, like an A+. Or you can do five stars plus a favorite flag.
Yeah that’s true. I guess I go by my Goodreads rating and you can only do straight stars not even halves
@PlanningwithBumble have you heard of the CAWPILE rating system for book review
I do love theee videos. I’ve read many books based on your recommendations so thank you! I think I need to switch to a kindle though. Do you use the paper white?
Yes, I love it!
Have you ever read the “Outlander” series. It is great on audible.
Not yet!
I didnt' read the book but saw A Man Called Otto in the theater. Had no idea the underlying dark story it had. . I also have that trigger in my life (not as awful as you) so I was caught off guard and hated the movie. Too triggering for me. I'm super surprised there's no mention of it in the premise of the story.
I like your reading journal but two starts for a Man Called Ove……. I am so bummed that you didn’t enjoy it. I LOVED it when I read it. But I know what you wanted to say but didn’t and it threw off one of my friends too. Will you read any of his other works?
I’m not sure. Never say never!
I have found I don’t enjoy the stories being read to me on audiobooks as much as reading it myself.
❤ 📚
Have you read First Lie Wins? Recommended to me but don’t want to 😂waste my time if not good
Hello !! Did you see the movie of the book, A man called Ove ??? It is with Tom Hanks, I loved the movie so so so much. Maybe try it.. Not to be mean, I love your videos ❤
I was thinking of watching it but I was annoyed with the book lol. Maybe I’ll give it a try
Funny. I loved the book but really disliked the movie. And I’m a big Tom Hanks fan. Books (and movies) hit us so differently…and a lot depends on where our mindset is when we experience them. Loving these videos! Getting some great books to add to my TBR. 📚
I'm going to have to give The Nightengale another shot. I HATED it and could not get into it at all. It was a DNF for me. But everyone gives it such rave reviews so I'll have to try again.
@@GoFish2006 reading is so personal! Sometimes people dislike books that so many love.
I understand that you were upset. I wonder if the writer is very young or if the publisher told her they wanted the book to be read by twenty year olds.
I wasn’t upset, I just thought it was unrealistic and a bad portrayal of someone that age
@@PlanningwithBumble I understand, you're right.
A man called Ove is a old man, and it is the beginning of the time internet came.
He’s 59!
@@PlanningwithBumble 🤣 I read the book when it was publish. At that time 59 was old to me 🤣
@@eivetjafrasenjaI’m reading Agatha Christie and they refer to an old lady bashed on the head and she was in her late 50s. It’s quite interesting how 50 is the new 40 concept is quickly becoming very realistic.
