  • Mizuno ST200X Driver: A Slow Swingers Paradise!
    Slow Swing Speeds looking for a Driver that will help them create speed. The Japanese Spec ST200X Mizuno includes a light weight head with a proprietary 39 gram shaft that helps increase the golfers swing speed.
    With a slightly Draw biased head, its designed to help the golfer that wants a little extra speed whilst removing the unwanted fade.

      Hi Adam, glad to be back making content although my day job keeps me more than occupied. Newborn and considering moving homes doesnt allow for a lot of TH-cam time.
      Thanks for the comment and for watching.

    I do enjoy your reviews Jay and think it'll be the ST200 for me, but will test one day! If you get a chance to review the 3 woods that would also be great as I am looking for one of them as well. Thanks

      The Fairways are on the list for me to finish. I have done some of the videos already but need time to finish off. This lockdown hasn't helped. Only being able to do online lessons is a bore to say the least.
      Thanks for the comment and for watching.

    Would love to see a follow up video when you put a 60gram shaft in the head, keep it at 8.5 degrees, and try and hit gamer drives at a 113 to 115 mph range versus the 39 gram shaft. On your Max drive, with the 291 carry, you had a 12.2 launch and 2250 spin - for me, that is right in the killer sweet spot for a gamer if you can keep it there. My swing speed on a Quad is 108-112 I I love a setup with the face slightly open for start line, that works back to target - and this driver is something I'm really think about because if the head design is a soft draw / not a crazy draw, I like that idea if it is controllable. Thanks

      Paul a great idea and one that I intend to do once this lockdown is over.....

    Hello Jay would you say it would help a senior golfer.

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mel. Almost certainly if it's correctly custom fit. Never be afraid to use as much loft as necessary to gain the extra distance. Too many senior golfers complain about losing distance yet still play with driver lofts sub 10 degrees.
      Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍

    Great review Jay , do you find the draw bias in the same league as a ping sftec and other d type drivers

      Well the SFT has to take the Daddies seat at the table as its probably the most neutral looking hugely draw (anti slice) drivers ever created. It can dramatically reduce fade spin axis more than any other.
      The 200X is more suited to the slower swing player coupled with the ridiculously light 39gram shaft with a medium amount of draw bias. It's not crazy draw, Mizuno don't get involved in the who can be the biggest and boldest conversation. They felt they needed to have another driver head in their arsenal that covered draw bias in a better way than just moving the weights in the G model.
      Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍

    Yes I had a draw biased (closed face driver once)... I just used to set it down slightly open to bring it back square... I couldn't use it as intended as i just thought I was going to hook it off the course.
    But this driver you can alter loft by +/- 2 degrees and doesn't that change where the face points? So does it look closed when you change the loft and if it does as its draw biased does it go off the planet draw?

      Hi Adam, yes the face will be altered by the change in the loft sleeve. The good thing about having this being more draw biased in standard form is that increasing the loft in effect makes it more draw biased, if that isn't what's required then a fitter could use the standard 200 and increase the loft on that and only make it moderately draw biased. Because the standard 200 comes in 2 lofted heads it means how much its draw/fade or neutral it is, can be fitted around the different lofts.
      The party piece of the X is by far the increased speed potential because of the sheer lightness.
      Definitely will test the X in a standard say 60 gram shaft to see just how much the 39 gram shaft is making 👍

    Hi Jay, do Mizuno do their drivers for left handed players?

      Hi Paul. I believe the Z is available for the left handed market 👍

    What do you believe is the maximum swingspeed for a forgiving driver?

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Anthony. To be honest there is no maximum. A more forgiving driver will continue to be more forgiving regardless of speed. Once distance becomes not a overriding factor then using a more forgiving driver can help accuracy.

    What an insult! "Senior " Bloody hell Jay! Well...I used to have a 43g shaft in my Callaway...broke it. Now I use a 54g shaft...and I can't go back feels too light to me. You would have thought the 44g would suit me at my swing speed? Perhaps I'm not "senior" enough yet!? 😅🤣😂😉😊 Stay safe... lots of worzel's in the fields down here. Not much has changed! 😉 Still drinking cider! 😉

      Hi Neil, as with everything in golf its always down to the individual. Just because I saw and increase doesnt necessarily mean others will..... you are one of the group that wont.I have seen small percentage that actually swing a heavier shaft faster..... Yep humans are a strange species.
      Glad the lockdown hasn't tainted your taste buds.
