Great fix! Thanks for the info. If you are planning on selling it on eBay again make sure you show a photo with the serial number on it. I was watching accessarea6 videos and he got scammed a few months ago. Someone bought his SNES then said it wasn't working and returned another SNES back to him (it was in rough shape and smelled like tobacco smoke etc). According to his video he couldn't do anything about it because none of his photos in the listing had a visible serial number.
I've seen people mention serial numbers in their listings for this reason. It's a good idea, thanks. There's a bunch of stuff, Gameboys, DSlites and others that I have fixed waiting to be sold on as Chrsitmas approaches. I'm running out of space fast.
Well done Brotha! That Tri-Wing in teh Batt Compartmen was Nasty, I was thinking you might crack the plastic trying to force the driver down enough to get torque.
@@PhilipBryden You know, I Honestly cannot believe there is something, Relitively Safe, that Could/Should ReCondition Plastic, I know I have my OG 7800 from Christmas '89 Safe in a box, It was Lost for 30 years so before I found it, I purchased another 7800. It fell off my desk maybe 3ft and Shattered, WTF,
@@SebastijanStanivuk I haven't worked on a GB micro. If you're sure the battery contacts are clean, you could try bypassing the switch. You will probably need some soldering skills to do that tho.
There's a tiny F1 fuse that often goes bad on the Micro, you may need to solder a new one on (can just go over the old one which is a bit easier than removing the old one). I think makho had a video on the replacement maybe. The part I got was from digikey, 0402 @ 1.25A. Also be careful not to rip that start/select ribbon when reassembling, that actually happened to me on one I replaced a fuse on.

Nice fix, thanks Phil 😁

I was very lucky to get that one out. Perhaps warming the plastic night have been a good idea to prevent possible cracking. What do you think?

@MotownBatman That's just bad luck lol. It must be some kind of chemical deterioration over the years.
Fascinating Philip thank you, you put a lot of hard work into them 😊
Trying to fix stuff is the easier part. Recording and editing is the time consuming part. It's a labour of love lol.
Great video Philip
Thank you Matthew. I've tried doing an intro on this one too see if it improves audience retention.
@@PhilipBryden I always watch your videos from start to finish regardless, always enjoyable
@@matthewmaidment8464 I'm glad someone does. Lol. It's a lot of work, so it's nice get some positive comments.
Great video again 👏👏👏👏
Thanks again Frozerino

@@PhilipBryden Micro doesn't have typical contacts but in my opinion they work. I have tested the switch and it works. I have pictures of the console.
