Got to love it when its the monster big move to, clash of the special moves haha.
The thing I love most about the charge blade is just how absurdly over the top it is, the size the technicality, even just the concept of just sticking a powered, spinning shield to the tip of a sword to make a gigantic axe of discharging doom is hilariously badass

the gratification of doing an air dash, uppercutting a monster in the face mid air and having it fall to the ground is a chef kiss
I mained CB after learning how to use it in IB because of offensive guard. The sound of gp and offensive guard proc is to die for lol
I've mained LS since MHFU, then switched to the evergreat CB, played the hell out of it through both MH4U and MHW
But CB didn't make the cut for me in Rise, don't know why, maybe doesn't feel as impactfull for me as in previous games
So I went back to the banger that is LS in Rise (to my taste of course)
I swear man you create some of the greatest clips ever that is honestly beautifully done I hope you keep making videos for all the future generations of these games

What I can't help but love about so many of these clips is that when you knock a large monster out of the air in the middle of a flying attack, they always just stop and fall straight down.
It would be really interesting to see momentum maintained to some degree if a monster is knocked out of an aerial attack in Wilds - like if you flinch a Bazelgeuse while it's attempting to dive bomb you, it keeps going, only stopping when it hits a wall or something. It would only be hits with very high motion values that could stop monsters in mid-air. I expected it would probably require a lot of difficult programming though.
Besides, dunking monsters this way is WAY more satisfying.

P.s, question: how do you block with the shield without losing the axe mode? I tried to block while the axe is on but I just ended blocking with the shield and losing the axe
You have to use the Wirebug move "Ready Stance" but you also have to have enough Guard too withstand the attack though, after that you can just do the round attack or a roll and it will keep the axe mode :)

This is tempting me to try the charge blade now 😆 but is there a cb where the shield is just invisible? Just like the "hi ninja sword" for sns where the shield is just a bracelet so it looks like your fighting with just a sword and your fist. Would love to see something like that with cb.
Dante's Devil Sword was something like that back in World/Iceborne
Yeah Dante Sword in MHW but I don't thing we have an equivalent in Rise unfortunately

How do you get the glowing blue charge blade phial explosions?
You have to use a CB with elemental phials. Blue is for either Thunder or Water
I miss all my big hit for sure but still practice 😅I spend more time healing and dodge

I loved this weapon in mhwi, i miss Dante's chargeblase t.t. by the way, ur videos gotta be ur best moments, but u look for it,right? ... You are so flashi, every hunt u do, its amazing, i feel like my best move in a month, is 1 of the 30 flashy moves u do in a single hunt.
Usually, I try it on the run and if I see some potential for good clips I try again to get better positioning and camera angle

1:31 I thought the afflicted explosion goes through Counter Peak Performance. Every time I do it I block one hit then get blown back anyway. Like there are two hits or something (maybe the orbs?).
Haven't had the money for Sunbreak but longtime player here. Could be an attack that requires the Guard Up skill to block? Seems Mikarai is running offensive guard in a lot of these clips so running Guard Up as well wouldn't be a stretch.
@@properlydicedonyon3624 good thought. Haven't played in a while, but I'll mess around with skills. It was confusing cuz I'd hear the *tink* but then get hit anyway.
I wanna learn charge blade now
High element and spam CPP Ultras. It's completely gutted utility compared to past games but it's still fun because monke brain like big number. That being said it's still my secondary after Longsword since I do element CB and poison LS mainly
CB is my main since I started in world if you decide to put some time into learning it you will soon be able to slay Black dragons in no time!😁 Ps. Sunbreak CB is really fun especially with guard

it's an awesome weapon but some people make it seem way harder. it's basically sword and shield 2.0 that can combine into a chainsaw. if you even have a rough idea how sns works, charge blade isn't nearly as hard to figure out as some people make it out to be.

how do I do the axe attack when the shield is spinning? is that with sunbreak only? I only have base game. I know how to do it in Iceborn tho
No, it's not in sunbreak only
In Rise, It's a switch skill that replace the sword charging animation

With "Ready Stance" a switch skill they added in Sunbreak

MHRSB CB is fun but still MHW is the best of it, you can do both style at the same time unlike here it feel like chainsaw style completely a seperate weapon to normal CB playstyle, not addtional

These are showcases so I try to use as many different switch skills as possible
im curious, what build do you use for SAED and SAXE
?
I use a lot of different builds so It would be difficult to say, especially since they vary a lot depending on those two playstyles

I've been toying with the cb but don't play like that
