Thanks for this video. When I saw this thing for sale, I couldn't fathom how they were going to fit the text of 20 light novels into a footprint that is 1/3 of the size of the entire 1-20 collection. This looks really incredible.

I wonder how long it's gonna take them to release the 3rd hardcover in this format. :P If Unital Ring is 9 volumes, that would be perfect for this. Would be neat if some western fantasy novels were published like this. The closest that comes to mind is the illustrated version of Harry Potter.

It seems tough to get discovered when you focus on more niche things like light novels, visual novels, etc.. @@infasis it's definitely hard. It's why I've expanded a little more with manga and anime reactions. But light novels will still be featured. Just at a slower rate.

Thank you for the video...It is the first I was able to find, beside the Yen Press' official...And it a good quality. Though, is it possible for you to suggest, if those volumes have all the illustration of the original books? Or only follow the illustrations partly? I look at this thing as someone, who prioritizes the materials for Laughing Coffin, and it feels like the content with Death Gun and Vassago is generally missing. About these transparent boxes for volumes you mention in the end,- I am not sure that those would not scratch the books each time to pull it out or put it in. I have the abec's art books for the volumes, but this set might still bring something.

The books weigh about 7 pounds each. I would recommend reading on a table because 7 pounds is enough to make your arms ache unless you have some sort of support like having it lean against something while holding it.

And even if they did make a big box set for the last books, it would be a very long time before that happens. You're better off buying the small books as they come out and selling them later on if that ever happens. Highly unlikely in my opinion.

It depends. If you don't own any SAO light novels then this is absolutely the most economic way to buy the 20 translated volumes in one go. If you do own the novels, then it's up to you whether or not you feel it's worth it. If I was in that situation I would try selling the novels I have in order to make up the cost for this box set. This product is absolutely worth it imo.

According to Yen Press twitter, they do advertise that this box set is a limited edition box set and encouraged people to pre-order before it's all gone. There are still plenty copies available in retail, but once it's gone then that's it.
Would you recommend this as a worthy option to read the novels? I would love to get this as it looks fantastic although at some point i may want to read the volumes, also how does it look when shelved next to regular volumes in a row?
So first off you have to take size into consideration. This will not fit in a shelf next to other small LN unless you adjust the shelf to be as big as this box set. I would personally recommend this set if you want to catch up on the 20 LN. After that you can start getting the remaining individual LN.

The text is definitely smaller than a regular light novel. The spacing is also a little tighter. It's still clear and legible but not as big as the regular LN.
I knew I forgot something! The pages are premium quality. Slightly thicker than a normal LN and it is matte coated. Meaning the paper is very smooth like you would see in most large textbooks. This also allows the illustrations to look clean and gorgeous when printed on this paper.
From my understanding, the author had a satisfied stopping point at Volume 20, but then decided to continue the main series with another 5 volumes out in Japan. We recently got Volume 21 in English this past January. I doubt we will get another large book for the last 5 books. I'm assuming 21-25 is going to be it but I'm not fully caught up so that's just my guess. Most people are just buying this box and then buying the individual books starting at 21.

@@Emrystatari It's about 3 and 1/2 inches taller than a normal LN. These books do not include Progressive. Only volumes 1-20 of the main series.

It only took a few days after it shipped, but I live fairly close to Rightstuf so my packages usually come fast anyway.
