This is not a reflection of 99.9% of all police. Your logic, if applied to Black people who commit crimes would then justify persecuting all Black people. Some cops, like some Blacks and Whites, Hispanics, etc., are just shitty people. RIP Tyre. This incident is more a poor reflection on the Memphis PD than all cops.

Not ALL tactics. They didn't forget to block the camera and yell "STOP RESISTING" as they beat him to death. Us black folks know that tactic all too well. Just because a cop yells "Stop Resisting", or "Stop Reaching For My Gun" or "Stop Tensing Up", it doesn't mean that's what the person is actually doing. They yell those orders so to the camera and their mics, it appears the person is disobeying so it gives them justification to beat the CRAP outta the person. Oldest trick in the book.

That's very true Caden, they do those "tactics" so it justifies the bullshit that they do to us. They feel as if they are the law, when in reality they are law enforcement. Which there's a big difference, but this is a systemic problem, their qualified immunity has to go. And every officer or official representing the public should be held to a higher standard than the normal citizens.

The barbaric nature of this heinous crime is utterly disturbing to watch. The senseless brutal beating of Tyre Nichols that lead to his death is beyond incomprehensible, reckless, and disgusting. The five x-officers, possessing criminal and gang mentality, who beat the victim to the pulp, deserve more than life in prison. These additional "accessories" or "accomplices" are as evil as these five thugs who were charged with murder. It is appalling, terrifying, and sickening that we have so many bullies behind badges hiding in police departments all over the country. I can't begin to imagine the pain and suffering his family is enduring. My deepest condolences go to Tyre's family and friends as they struggle to cope with their loss. Rest in Peace, Tyre Nichols.

Years ago there was a small uproar when a Sheriff pulled over a car with a small family and their dog. Everyone had to get out of the car . The Sheriff didn’t inform them as to why. The dog ( size of a loaf of bread) kept barking and pacing. The Sheriff told the family tor restrain their dog, but would not allow anyone to move. Sheriff pulled out his revolver and shot the dog six times within a few feet of the two children. After, he let the family go. When a complaint was filed, the internal investigation concluded that the officer was acting within his bounds. No charges were filed and still no reason was given for the stop. Yes, they do protect their own with no consequences or accountability. There are also good law enforcement, but we’re not focusing on them right now.

They did this with NO FEAR of job lost or being prosecuted for the behavior. Everybody one knows on a job people do what they are allowed to, especially on camera. Who or What allowed this behavior, internal culture or something. These cops was too comfort doing this to Tyre. I personally think these cops probably had stacks of complaints. MPD did nothing!! Scorpion Unit -
I don’t know about y’all but it certainly
sounds like a friendly easily approachable community oriented law enforcement group
    And not like
Some type of blitzkrieg branch of the special forces military operations…
The officers behaviors probably have no correlation to their moniker telegraphing their threatening nature and the fear folks have of getting stung by a venomous creature…
I am sure that the unit had no intention of marketing themselves as a branch of law enforcement to be feared.
Scorpion Units sounds like they simply wish to serve and protect the citizens in the community.
It was probably a toss up between naming it the Scorpion Unit or the Partnership Policing and Community Outreach Program… Scorpion Unit probably had better public relations polling data.
