    Subaru Robin History
    The history of FHI and its companies starts with the Nakajima Aircraft Laboratory, which was Founded in 1917. Airplane engines led to smaller-displacement powerplants (such as motorboat engines).
    In the mid-1950s, a group of companies formed FHI. Its innovative capabilities led to the manufacture of Japan's first jet engine called the "JO-1."
    The Robin brand first appeared in 1956 with the first of its general-purpose, air-cooled, gasoline engines. Capabilities and capacity grew, and by 1978, one million "EY 18" four-cycle engines had been produced. In 1989, the "EC 10" two-cycle engine reached the one-million-unit threshold.
    FHI opened the Saitama Plant in 1993, and its annual production rate for Robin engines is approximately one million units.
    Quality by Design
    Another similarity between Subaru Automotive and Subaru Robin is their insistence on quality products. Development and manufacturing teams meet on a regular basis to exchange information to help improve quality. They take into account test results and customer comments to help make improvements.
    During the manufacturing process, every engine is tested for performance and quality manufacturing.
    As a result, the full range of approximately 2,000 Subaru Robin engines continually evolves to be more environmentally friendly and quieter.
    Another process used by Subaru Robin that's similar to Subaru Automotive is its recycling of shipping containers and parts. Shipping crates and frames along with packaging materials are reused or recycled.
    Subaru Robin America
    Although engines are not manufactured at Robin America headquarters in Lake Zurich, Illinois, as many as 30,000 units are stored in the facility. Also, the building has a year's supply of parts for engines that are in the field.
    Subaru Robin and Subaru Automotive use separate distribution channels in the United States. But, across the board, Subaru Robin and Subaru Automotive exhibit similar characteristics: quality, innovation, technology, environmental responsibility, and responsiveness to the customer.

    Dude, with what you spend in gasoline to wash parts, you could probably get a good parts washer and an ultrasonic cleaner. I love your videos😁👍

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually plan to acquire an ultrasonic cleaner for cleaning the small parts. Thank you for the great comment!

    was surprised you did not have to offer up a body part or first offspring to get that fuel. love your work and please keep it up. think you might need some more caffeine, for that good wake up jolt you really need to try death wish coffee. it has enough caffeine to keep a battalion of marines awake for a week. we in Canada really enjoy your work and please keep it up

    Three issues come to mind watching your video(s). First, did you get that gasoline from the emergency reserve supplies? Second, Sandblasting is a great way to remove rust and paint, until you have to blast for hours and hours with hard to remove old finishes on some parts. Been there done that. And Third, watching you put the hardware in the plastic jug and shaking it tells me you need to switch to decaf and soon too... lol All joking aside, you are truly doing a great job refurbishing this engine. That is the way I like refurbish things as well. Thumbs Up for sure...

      Hahahaha those are some serious points there! Sometimes I have to burn off the old paint and oil off the metal parts to sandblast, they can be REALLY stubborn. Thank you for the great comment haha!

    Probably a dumb question but is powder coat a no-no on exhaust?

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The exhaust burns the coating over time. Special high heat paint must be used.

  • @robertmailhos8159
    @robertmailhos8159 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How would powder coating work on the muffler just a thought

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will look great, but in time it will burn off and start to rust again. I use special high heat paint for the mufflers.

      @@AJRestoration okay thanks for the info on that matter I like you use paint made for high temp stuff such as muffler s 👍

    Dude, with the price of gasoline these days (and it's only going up), it might help your wallet to switch to a more affordable degreaser. 🙂

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Even with the insane gasoline prices, it's still the best degreaser out there, unfortunately.
