Spot on. This is not as easy to find in the US market lately and I bought a sample of this and fell in love. Just received my first 100ml bottle in the post today and I couldn't be happier and find your analysis totally spot on.
Great review! I just picked this fragrance up and on my skin, it's an absolute beast! Definitely going to be my cool weather fragrance for years to come!
I love this fragrance so much, i agree projection could be better but it's such a great scent and it does last forever on your skin but it does sit close like mentioned. It's definitely more of a mature scent, my nephew told me i smelled like an old man lol, i told him he just wasn't mature enough to appreciate it. I like it better than gucci intense oud & TF oud wood, but TF tobacco oud is amazing and also Creed royal oud but those aren't fragrances i can afford to wear everyday, this 1 is however and it's truly a beautiful scent, humbling and comfortable.
Pretty much spot on. Having tried both I actually prefer the Oud Noir to the Oud Wood. While I like the Tom Ford, there was a slight harshness to it which took awhile to mellow out. The Versace is very similar but a much smoother and more wearable scent (not to mention about $300 cheaper).
Great review! Just ordered a sample of this and am excited to try it! I’m a fan of Versace pour homme so I figured this would be a good way to try an Oud fragrance.
Great review! Quite versatile, European oud in acceptable price. Very nice fragrance. The most sophisticaed, and rich smell fragrance from Versace (I love classic Pour Homme in the summer, but it's different story.) I've been meaning to buy for a long time, finally I picked a bottle this year, and I'm very satisfied.
@@stuartgeorge2324 they recycle batch codes every ten years so your bottle is probably 1999 maybe 2009. Does it have the old silver paper sticker label or the new clear one?
@@stuartgeorge2324 did a little more research. It is probably from 2009 as 1999 would have been version ii. There are two Italian versions as well. One made by P&G and the other by Euroitalia. Euroitalia is better.
Thanks man for the great review. I've been borderline wondering if this would be worth trying, but how you specified age and how it's an intro into oud frangrances, then that's more than a green light for me to give it a crack 👌
My #2 from the brand behind the original Versace Man! And they share a bit a similarity as well. Wish I had a bottle of Versus Uomo though. Seems that the golden days of designer perfumery are long past. Or perhaps I'm just a Dreamer? 🤭
I’m debating getting this for Christmas. I haven’t been able to find this ANYWHERE and trust me, I’ve looked lol. It’s between this, Safari by Ralph Lauren, or Polo Green.
Cheers Patrick. I got this bottle on offer from Notino a couple of weeks ago. I really like the polo green also but I’d say this one smells the most current out them 3 but polo green is the best performer. 👍

@@Wojtaz77 Hey John. Thanks for the reply. I’ve actually looked at it on fragrancex, I was meaning that I can’t find this in any stores in order to sample it and simply not do a blind buy.
I have three bottles of the old purple bottle. I haven’t tried the oud nior yet but will soon. Love the original. From the open to the dry down is an experience as the fragrance continues to change.
Just bought "oud wood" by tom ford. Have owned "oud noir" for the entire fall and winter. Paid 23 bucks for a travel twist vial for the tom ford, and I am pissed. Almost the same frigging DNA and scent.. basically paid top notch for a scent I had, and was basically better. Side note, oud noir will always be in my rotation.
Thats why I dont buy private lines or niche its a rip off and seriously in Australia everything is more expensive the only niche one ive liked is Initio Oud For greatness, but again i want to be smelt but not 50mtrs away and think im rocking it when people are dropping like flies around me, this fragrance is perfectly done, don't be a sissy sprayer, I hit the trigger about 15 times on all fragrances except the ones I know I don't need to like Sauvage Elixir but this is quality I have about 100 2 ml testers of all different niche fragrances and hakf of them ive tried last like 2 hours , so there are many hidden gems in the designer fragrance world.

How is the performance of the Versace oud noir ? Would you say its better than tom fords oud wood?

Nice. I just got a 4th backup bottle of the Italian made DG Pour Homme for about 60 dollars for 125ml (1995) and another 75ml (1994) for 18 bucks.
Also have two backup bottle of the Original Versace Man in the purple bottle. Same DNA as this one.
