Interesting how Diamond window tiles, or really the game itself, only registers a state change when that tile touches a gas or liquid tile. Why wouldn’t the steel tile below it register the temp? Rocket doors are an enigma.
Would be funny to build a rocket that had Sporechids in some mechanism that dumbed the Zombie Spores outside the rocket like a biological weapon system.
Francis, if you design your rocket like that, you don't really need a pump for CO2 removal. Use a mechanical airlock there instead. Gas element sensor right above it, whenever it sees carbon dioxide it opens and the vacuum under the door will do the trick. Occasionally, when you need to allow a dupe to pass through, you can just open it manually and sacrifice some oxygen. That way, you can save the gas output for another purpose, and the CO2 removal won't get stagnant when the rocket lands. Also, you have 4 oxygen pumps. Why waste so much space? You only need 2 for the atmosuits, and just let the electrolyzers to release oxygen to the rocket naturally.
I also suggested the mechanized airlock, but there is no need for a sensor. Each time they go to grab food, it will automatically let the CO2 out. He still needs 3 pumps for the atmosuits unless most of the duplicants stay inside. Assuming that each dupe will be inside for 4 hrs per day, they will still need 1.267kg/s supplied to the atmosuits.
something odd i learned is that if you sweep command at yellow alert it will harbor the same attention to the dupes as a 1 priority sweep command just changes the order in which it is dumped in however if you make the storage place where the sweep command is to go to a yellow alert it will happen very fast
26:15 just make 4 shedules. Everyone in the same horizontal row will get on the same shedule. Every horizontal row gets a different shedule, where no slee shedule starts or ends while another group is on sleep shedule. Done. should manage the bumping
Just a tipp: if you can exchange the wind tunnel and the kitchen, the wind tunnel will push CO2 to the top. With proper walling you don't have to have 2 mini-pumps. Give it a try!
I think you can fit in the grill in the bottom right corner if you really try. Also, you should need only 1 sensor/vent to vent CO2 from the mini gas pumps, its just wasting space having 2
*@Francis John* 5:15 Make the "catch basin" 2 blocks wide (or 3 blocks?), around the diamond tile, instead of a 1x1. In that way the mass will be halved (or thirded) so it can be mopped up. 7:58 Ah, excellent :D
When liquids hit freezing point in bottles they form natural tiles. You can use that on the liquid carbon to create refined carbon natural tiles. Then use an automatic dispenser to shove more (cold) refined carbon into the tile to bring it up to the required mass.
That rec-building would need a room below it, though, as it requires gases to pull from. Seem to remember it can be used to move CO2 around, though I haven't used that building in quite a while, so migh have been patched somehow, or me just misremembering
Instead of the mini gas pump in the lower right, you could just have a mechanized airlock there. Each time the duplicants get something to eat, it will let all the CO2 out into the vacuum. You will lose a bit of O2, but not much.
If you can live with 3? tiles of open space on top in one place, you can squeeze in some solar panels to make up the deficit from a loss of a steam turbine. :)

@@yaemz123 A normal vent could be overpressurized in that position, depending on where he puts his oxygen supply vents. His oxygen is pretty tight for 16 dupes, so I don't think it will probably be easier to pipe it to another room to use a high pressure vent.
@@zarquan3144 Yes, the vents will overpressurize. They are supposed to. He's putting 16 dupes into the rocket. That means he needs 1.6kg/sec of oxygen. It's intentional.
@@yaemz123 That's not the problem. The problem I see is that when that vent overpressurizes, he will be pumping oxygen in to space. That's wasted oxygen and I'm not sure how often that will happen.
@@zarquan3144 Oh, I see what you mean. Elsewhere in the comments, and also in a save file I submitted, I suggested he do away with the co2 venting entirely. If a vent is placed at locations of the mini gas pumps instead, with a valve restricting oxygen output around to 50g, it will overwrite all the co2, and a bypass line at the valve to outgas to another normal vent will allow for self-regulating of gas pressures by way of overpressurization of the vents so oxygen never runs much above 2kg/tile.
Hey, I think if you stagger their sleep schedules and manually assign beds, you can make sure that only one dupe is sleeping in a stack of beds at one time. They need maybe 2 blocks each, so you're talking about 8 blocks of time in total, maybe 12 if you want to make sure. Seems like an easy solution to ensure that they're not disturbed during sleep.
I'm not much of an ONI person, I have a little experience, but I just want to point out that if the dupes get enough rads from space (their beds are right below 1 tile of plastic) they'll get radiation vomiting and they could very easily break the liquid lock. Your solution for in-case they need to "relieve themselves" I would agree is sufficient, but I'm more worried about the rads. But maybe the plastic blocks enough, idk :/
A duplicant can flush away 100 rads per lavatory trip. The barracks is getting 80 rads per cycle, so they wouldn't get sick even staying there all the time, provided they go to the bathroom at least once a cycle.
My bad then, thanks for letting me know! (Also, that just means if they're gonna break the liquid lock due to lack of lavatory, they're gonna get radiation vomiting too lol)@@yaemz123

in next update (its on beta branch currently) they made changes what is and isnt industrial machinery. And high pressure vent is one of them sadly. BUT conveyor loader isnt anymore. Idk about mini pumps tho.
If you put the carpet tile under your pump with the liquid lock, then they get soggy tickled tosies. Also, fun fact. Carpet tiles cannot melt, no matter what they are made of. You could also save some space by simply letting your o2 generation flow directly into your rocket, no need to wall it in.
The background tiles behind the steam turbines is making me nervous XD. If any gas gets in that area it's gonna transfer a lot of heat and be slow to dissipate.
Looks like you're going to need a path to whatever you put in that giant vacuum in the middle. What if you removed the door to the barracks, put a door to the barracks next to the beach beds, and put a nature reserve in the path to the beach beds. I'll admit, some dupes' sleep may suffer. But this way you'd have to travel through a nature reserve (and beach) when getting out of bed. And you should be able to remove some ladder segments.
Hi Francis, I see a flaw in your system, the air supply for your suit station, each pair of pumps can only support 5 station and since you have 16, you need at least 3 pairs.
Could you schedule the 16 Duplicants sleep, such that they wake up in groups of fours. One group for each column of beds? (maybe offset a bit to give the bathroom a chance?) Just to avoid disturbed sleep.
@@ShadowWolfTJC I guess I wasn't considering loud sleepers, just the way walking on the ladders disturbs the beds. Basically, if only one ladder is used during a shift then the other sleepers so go undisturbed. I do see what you mean about loud sleepers though, basically let them sleep when adjacent beds are empty. That does seem a bit more challenging to configure but solve additional issues. My idea might be easier to setup but not impact this specific issue. I presume there is a period where multiple groups of dupes will be in the bedroom. Though I guess you could put all the loud sleepers into their own group that sleeps on the other side of the schedule from the rest of the dupes. 🤔 Then fall back to the other dupe groups using a minimal set of ladders per group, like I initially proposed.
You could put auto sweepers in the great hall to pick up any dropped food, in the new update they made it so auto sweepers don't count a industrial machinery
Yes, one tile above it in the center. Otherwise it will pump the air into that tile and make it disappear. Not an issue with infinite supply of air, though.
Why not have the mesh tiles drop any liquid right on top of the food supply? It will instantly freeze to polluted ice and the radiation would kill germs plus deep freeze.
Why put two gas sensor/high pressure vents? Why not just use one of each on the line after the two waste gas lines merge? You'd need to reroute the gas pipes a bit but it would save two more tiles.
Or do away with them entirely. Tap into the main oxygen lines with a valve to let 50g pass through and put a vent at the bottom right corner of the kitchen and the great hall area. The gas overwrite bug will destroy the co2. Saves power, saves vent piping.
Instead of using the Move To button on a duplicant you could also use the Show Navigation button. For me it's more thorough. I can see where s/he should NOT access to lol Also with the amount of Hydra SPOMS i've built - your priming will not be an issue with your final build. O2 always exits left. H always exists to the top. The only time that messes up is if you don't build that corner tile to the right and above the spawn point.
it's hard to come up with new ideas to play with, I mean, this is already the "ultra casual" playthrough, the only thing one could use to spice it up would be some kind of game-altering mods, which FJ I have not really seen using in ONI. Maybe... But first, let's go with Rimworld :D
A rocket that can hold a large number of people, can travel for thousands of years (or cycles) and has tons of entertainment and food? This is not ONI anymore this sounds more like the plot of WALL·E. In this regard I would say you should leave a single Sweepy on the map to stay accurate to the story.
Presumably, the only way they will have an accident is if there is a problem with the water supply. If there is a problem with one toilet, there will probably be a problem with all the toilets.
Why do you even need pumps for oxygen distribution? The whole top layer will be pressurised, so you can just let it flow freely. That saves a lot of space
You can destroy small amounts of carbon dioxide with vents that pump out oxygen on top of them. I've used this system to keep my entire base completely carbon dioxide free. The pressure can go above what a regular vent can pressurize, but i just had all my vents in places that destroy carbon dioxide and never got any issue with it. A good place for the vents are in intersections of walls. Imagine a cross, made out of walls, with the center block removed and the tile above an below it being made out of an airflow tile. The vent is placed in the center and everytime carbon dioxide passes by it, it is immediately destroyed. It also works with flatulent dupes by destroying the natural gas. You could counter the risk of over pressurizing the base with a gas pump somewhere and a sensor to start it up when you need to reduce the pressure and just make the output being the main-line in the ventilation that gives the oxygen to the base, with freshly produced oxygen being fed through a bridge onto that tube.
If he uses a valve set to pass only 50g at a time, the vent overwriting the co2 with oxygen won't cause a big pressure problem. Just run a line past the valve to another output vent in the top of the room to keep normal pressures. The dupes need 1.6 kg/sec, and the electrolyzers output 1.776kg/sec, and the double gas pipe can drop at most 2kg/sec, so using 2 metered vents for co2 overwrite and 2 more vents for normal output up to overpressure levels will create a self-regulating pressure at around 2kg/tile.
Pretty sure vacci charges are limited, you can only get them randomly from scrubbing clean found artifacts. At best you would get 15 or 20 total uses, half of the 8 crew rocket already have divers lung.
Try dropping pee on the Naptha. It won't break, since naptha is heavier. I remember you doing crazy looking locks on the water planet, holding it all back. That wasn't even with heavier liquid IIRC, just pee.
I see a tip this week to destroy diamond tiles instead mealting, surround with insulated and pass ice by rails, when ice melt the game try put steam in place and just destroy the tile, but some times the tile bug with zero absolute and stop melting ice, them will need some additional tricks. But was insteresiting the ideal of empty bottom and melting them xD

Hi Francis, I see a flaw in your system, the air supply for your suit station, each pair of pumps can only support 5 station and since you have 16, you need at least 3 pairs.
Wow! I like your oni so much! Hope for new series!
Could you schedule the 16 Duplicants sleep, such that they wake up in groups of fours. One group for each column of beds? (maybe offset a bit to give the bathroom a chance?)
Just to avoid disturbed sleep.
Were you imagining a setup for any given shift like this for example (to help deal with loud sleepers perhaps)?

I guess I wasn't considering loud sleepers, just the way walking on the ladders disturbs the beds.
Maybe fit in a national park in that area?
The obvious use of the bottom-right corner is putting the shove voles there, right?
You could put auto sweepers in the great hall to pick up any dropped food, in the new update they made it so auto sweepers don't count a industrial machinery
Auto sweepers were never industrial machinery. It is the conveyor loaders that are.
17:55 can't you just store that H2 and don't wory about it venting in to space just can't you cram it in to small space
just saying, there's just enough space for another nuclear reactor...
Sorry it took so long to get here, but can't that door below the food let out steam from the reactor room?
Doesn't the vertical wind tunnel require space on top and bottom for the air flow ?
Yes, one tile above it in the center. Otherwise it will pump the air into that tile and make it disappear. Not an issue with infinite supply of air, though.
Why not have the mesh tiles drop any liquid right on top of the food supply? It will instantly freeze to polluted ice and the radiation would kill germs plus deep freeze.
Try and fit a power control station John.
If you stagger the sleeping schedule will that stop the dupes from waking each other up when they climb the bunk beds?
If the duplicants are going into the tear, do you even need more than 1 atmos suit dock? They won't ever leave
He's just roleplaying as if they might live there 1000 cycles and land on a new place to call home.
Can you move the two electrolyzers one tile to the left and let the oxygen form both escape through the middle column? or it won't work?
Why put two gas sensor/high pressure vents? Why not just use one of each on the line after the two waste gas lines merge? You'd need to reroute the gas pipes a bit but it would save two more tiles.
Or do away with them entirely. Tap into the main oxygen lines with a valve to let 50g pass through and put a vent at the bottom right corner of the kitchen and the great hall area. The gas overwrite bug will destroy the co2. Saves power, saves vent piping.
Instead of using the Move To button on a duplicant you could also use the Show Navigation button. For me it's more thorough. I can see where s/he should NOT access to lol
Also with the amount of Hydra SPOMS i've built - your priming will not be an issue with your final build. O2 always exits left. H always exists to the top. The only time that messes up is if you don't build that corner tile to the right and above the spawn point.
Did you not watch the part of the video where he tested it and showed that is not true?
I would love to try and develop a rocket module but i don't have the spaced out DLC.
A tip for melting the window tiles use liquid resuare
Fantastic!
@FJ, will there be more ONI series after this one?
To be honest Iwould love to see ONI as permament slot.
it's hard to come up with new ideas to play with, I mean, this is already the "ultra casual" playthrough, the only thing one could use to spice it up would be some kind of game-altering mods, which FJ I have not really seen using in ONI. Maybe... But first, let's go with Rimworld :D
@@jmatya Rimworld ok-ish but its kinda boring, i enjoy ONI but i only like rimworld but iwould never play it myself.
A rocket that can hold a large number of people, can travel for thousands of years (or cycles) and has tons of entertainment and food? This is not ONI anymore this sounds more like the plot of WALL·E. In this regard I would say you should leave a single Sweepy on the map to stay accurate to the story.
next challenge, melting the bottle and cork :)
Wait, is airflow tile infinite storage working again? I thought they patched it so they take pressure damage now
You're really pushing for calling the 'Sixteen' Chapel.
For the glory of Aku, right?
The upper part of the Windtunnel should be free, otherwise air is going to get compressed and your Dups get poped ears.
Also, don't you need open space below the wind tunnel?
Why not put one additional latrine in the bottom right corner and eliminate the pee tile catchers?
Presumably, the only way they will have an accident is if there is a problem with the water supply. If there is a problem with one toilet, there will probably be a problem with all the toilets.
Why do you even need pumps for oxygen distribution? The whole top layer will be pressurised, so you can just let it flow freely. That saves a lot of space
He needs a minimum of 3 just for the atmosuits.
Why not use radbolt generators oppose to refined carbon tiles? They don't even need to be powered to block radiation.
Randbolt generators don't stop radiation last I checked. Same with joint plates they don't stop all the rads either.
Should have been moving the Uranium prior to save/reload to prevent heat transfer.
You could just have turned that atmosuit waypoint off, no need to fill it.
how to remove darkness arounf moduler ??

@@yaemz123 That's even better. It saves a bit of space as well since there's no need for a gas pump with that setup.
You used the wrong door type for the access point to the reactor. It's leaking steam!
No it isn't. He has a naptha liquid lock there. The steam is a visual effect of the turbine below.
Did you just put the pee drainage next to food storage?
why dont you mass collect vacci charges? if you force 16 dupes with deep divers lung you can modify o2 production majorly
Pretty sure vacci charges are limited, you can only get them randomly from scrubbing clean found artifacts. At best you would get 15 or 20 total uses, half of the 8 crew rocket already have divers lung.
You need to start using mods to spice up your plays and make them better. Lots of mods give you more things to work with and do.
Try dropping pee on the Naptha. It won't break, since naptha is heavier.
I remember you doing crazy looking locks on the water planet, holding it all back. That wasn't even with heavier liquid IIRC, just pee.
The problem is it blocks the pump.
@@cheetored20 good point. Hard to clean up too
I see a tip this week to destroy diamond tiles instead mealting, surround with insulated and pass ice by rails, when ice melt the game try put steam in place and just destroy the tile, but some times the tile bug with zero absolute and stop melting ice, them will need some additional tricks. But was insteresiting the ideal of empty bottom and melting them xD
