I've gotta say...this is one of the best videogame adaptations of a tv show I've ever seen. I watched the first season, then got this game and was not disappointed at all, it's fuckin' awesome actually.
without a doubt what I liked the most was how they introduce us and we are part of the story, the end is undoubtedly a 10/10 the most certain thing is that our character returns in season 4.
honestly this is 1 of the better anime games I've played my only problem is it's not a game you can play for long periods of time because it does get repetitive some times and I'm not a fan of the bosses where you have to hit certain spots before being able to go for the neck
Bout this game for my brother a week ago, and hopped on, with only 21 hours of gameplay I beat the story mode and scouts explorations. So I can confirm his statement, this game is uncomfortably addictive🤣🤣Something about speeding 800M in 11 sec is so entertaining

Had to find out more about this game because I walked into a local game store the other day and saw a copy of this going for $300 😱 . What's crazy is that's inflated, but it does regularly go for $200 sealed now.
For fans still asking about AoT2: Final Battle it essentially 2 major story modes the main story mode which is the story mode from AoT2: Vanilla which has you go through the events of Season 1, and Season 2 as a CaC, and then you have a new story mode called Character Episodes which adapts the events of the anime's third season but instead of playing as your CaC you go through the season 3 storyline as the series' core cast of characters, though if you played AoT2: Vanilla before Final Battle then you'll already know why your CaC doesn't show-up during the S3 storyline.
@@kadeloblack4774 It all depends 0n what happens if we get a AoT3 since there is a post credits scene in AoT2: Vanilla showing that CaC does potentially survive, It's been hinted that if we get a Aot3 adapting the events of S4/Final Season part of the main plot would be the return of the CaC either returning as a regular human who is to stubborn to die, or as a Titan Shifter.
And Territory Recovery, which served as a bonus mode for if you wanted to participate in the action yourself (Became a nightmare later in the game though)
I always say this game is great if like repetition sometimes. For being depicted as a very over-the-top, stressful warzone in the show, once you get the hang of the game, it can honestly be a pretty chill game to play on modes like Territory Recovery. Plus, also talking about Territory Recovery, It's great for people who like incrementals in their games. I recently played through the entire story, all scouting missions, and maxed every character's friendship in story mode so I could play Territory Recovery again just for that reason, since you can bump up every characters stats and watch them get stronger, slowly but surely. Still waiting to see Daz outshine Levi when I get his latent skill out of the way
This one is basically the AOT 2 but with the £40 DLC included at the end. Definitely get AOT 2 Final Battle as its the same price as AOT 2. And I've yet to play the first game, but its meant to be basically the same just not as polished

I assume you meant story mode has a hub like area between missions. Do the others as well? I don't like being timed so I hope there are modes where I can just relax and do sidequests/talk to npc's like a normal rpg.
Hub world isn't very big, just a small town bit where you can speak to npcs and such, I think to build your relationships with them. You can also do side missions from the town or continue on to the next story mission. As for being timed if I recall the timers were closer to mario platformer timers, where you don't really have to worry about them as you get plenty of time to do what you need to
Great review! Easy Sub. The mechanics on display in the AOT games are quite impressive, going a long way to adapt the anime in a way that honors its source material. Coincidentally, I'd love to see the developers apply these same mechanics in a realistic version of this universe (abandoning the anime-look & instead embracing the live-action film aesthetic instead.) If this particular gameplay loop existed in a more realistic looking game, I'd need to play it with a padded pamper on the seat of my gaming chair.
wall running is fun in this game, if you're in a city with a lot of long horizontal buildings i would do it, its fast and good for saving gas and its so much fun.
Superman isn't invincible, he can be affected by magic like most beings, he can be injured by people around his power level, he has a literal plot weakness and most of all, you just need to put someone's life in danger and he's in a crisis since he's obsessed with being the most moral, do gooder there is.
I don't understand what people are talking about when they say the frames are bad for the Switch. Only real things wrong are the occasional stuttering, but it happens not often. My biggest gripe is the Titans are weak. I never feel like they actually pose a challenge. Damage sponges maybe. I am currently in Inferno Mode. Only time I lose is when I have to defend Cadets, or when facing the female Titan or when I just space out. I wish the Titans attacked more often, or something. More challenge. I am almost at Eden mode. Two more levels in Inferno Territory Recovery Mode. Then onto Eden mode babbbbyyyy. Hopefully they won't just stand around like limp noodles.

When you buy Final Battle (the stand-alone game version) and you unlock Kenny as a playable character, which modes can you play as him in? (Also, do you have to progress the story far enough to play as him or do you get get him straight away?) 🙌
I got the game last year on PS4 for 30$, got a scratch on it... looked to get another disc online, and they are almost 300$ used, wtf? lol. Fortunately I rubbed it a bit with alcohol, not sure what happened but it works again. So I'll probably keep playing it until it poops on me, then buy the steam version of the game at the rip-off price of 60$ because it never goes on sale, lol. I think I'll just wait for the possible season 4 game in which you play through the whole show as Marley soldiers, lol.

Hello , My comment is like a year later so I totally understand if this question isnt answered . BUT . When I buy Attack on Titan Final Battle does this also include the base game ? Or do I have to buy that first ? Im assuming its a stand alone game and that I would just have to make one purchase which would include the base game + all three seasons correct ?
It depends what you buy. There's AOT 2, AOT 2: FINAL BATTLE and AOT 2: FINAL BATTLE DLC UPGRADE. So yes if you want the 3 seasons it's just one purchase of AOT 2: Final battle, so if you're buying physically buy that, however if you're buying digitally just make sure you're not accidentally buying just the dlc upgrade pack.
Am I the only one that thought we got ripped off for the final battle dlc? I thought it was going to be all of season 3’s content since it’s so expensive. I paid $30 for it on sale and I still think it was a rip off. It’s not even manga accurate and doesn’t show any of the key events that happened in the show

If i remember right story mode is just seasons 1 and 2, so you can play that spoiler free. However the another mode contains season 3 spoilers and recreations. Definitely finish aot season 3 first to be on the safe side or just stick to story mode until you finish it

The gameplay from the first title was 1000 times smoother. In this title it just sucks you never get into the flow to kill 5 Titans in 5 seconds, like in the first game, it's just impossible. :/

If you buy Attack On Titan 2: Final Battle digital then you're getting the full game AoT 2 plus The Final Battle Upgrade Pack, so yeah it includes the Aot 2 Story. As for online, I only saw one other person online but that was on PC. Could possibly be more on ps4. Also I'd advise trying to get the game physical if you're in a position to as it's currently half the price of the digital one, at least where I live at least. Hope that helps
Ok, I’m a little confused So I bought both 2 and final battle but when I try to play final battle it just takes me back to the second game and I’m extremely frustrated and confused on how to play through the third season Little help please?
So I only had the combo pack with them already together, so I'm not sure where the split is, but I believe there isn't a season 3 for your created character, the season 3 content is in the story mission mode section, and it should just be there after the existing missions once you complete them. It should also unlock territory mode which should just be added to the main menu once you've installed final battle. Not sure if that helps?
Purple Streak, I appreciate the immediate reply honest I do But the thing that confuses me most is that when I press on the final battle I icon it just takes me to the 2nd game and when I go to story mode I’m back to my custom character
Yeh the story mode is the first two seasons with your character, I don't think the dlc added anything to the story mode. The season 3 stuff is from the missions option, I think it's the second or third option on the main menu?

I got the two versions of the game (AOT 2 and AOT 2 final battle, don't worry, my parents payed for them as birthday/ christmas presents XD). I wanted the second one because I heard it covered the third season. And I thought (?) it would be with the OC we create (it appears in both versions of the game). I was really disappointed when I understood that the OC story doesn't change from a version to another, because it was the main reason I asked for Final Battle. So I really hope that a new DLC with a updated story (including season 3) for the OC will be released, or a new game that continue that story. I'm sorry for my bad english, I'm not from a englsih country ^^'
@@Trycja97 Well, if you don't have the first version, yes. It have more mods in it that seems interesting, and apparently has corrected some things (maniability and some others). But if you already have the first version and is mostly interested in the OC part, then no. It doesn't add so much for that part, just more levels and some minor things. So it basically depends on if you have AOT 2 or not 😂
Is it just me who hates the fact that you have to play as the character you made up in story mode? Like... I wanna play as the actual characters in story mode! The first game was good for this but it only had story mode for season 1.
Wait I am utterly confused because there are two "different* download for this. One is the AOT 2: Final Battle that costs $60 and one that is AOT 2: Final Battle Upgrade Pack which is $45. So which one should I buy? are both basically the same? And does my original character appears on this one from AOT 2? (btw I have the AOT 2 downloaded). The first one for $60 is both AOT 2 and the DLC Combined, the $45 is JUST the DLC. If you have AOT 2 already then you just need the $45 dlc. I mentioned it at the beginning but yeah unfortunately the dlc on its own is pretty pricey but if you buy it along with the fill game it's not bad
Definitely get AOT 2 final battle if you can, preferably physical. Just make sure you're buying the package deal and not just the dlc if you're buying digital (if it's physical it's the package deal)

The game is mostly seasons 1-2, so it's pretty much the full story. It's done like most games though where smaller details are skipped over but otherwise its the full story

If they're a similar price then get final battle. Aot 2 is the base game, final battle is the dlc pack, aot 2 Final battle is a combination of the two. If you're buying physical then definitely get aot 2 final battle as it'll save you money in the long run

A fair bit into the story mode you'll get an assist attack that let's you Control a titan if you've got a titan in your group like Erin, and I think in the missions at some pt aswell

I actually play co op with my cousin but I've been able to play with people I've found online too, however if you get this game you'll definitely be more invested in the story and all the modes so much content I still paly it and I haven't even completed everything! In AOT final battle, Story mode is season 1 and 2 with a created character and mission mode has season 1-3 with different characters from the show if u remember right.
Oh ok so when I'm done with season 1-2 and i can't use my character anymore i go to character mode and i can play as different characters through the whole season of season 3 rigth?

In aot 2 the majority of the game is played using a created custom character. You can control Eren in mission mode for select missions, and you can control Eren as a Titan during story mode if he's in your team, but that's not very often...

I've never played AOT 1 as it never goes on sale on Steam and its quite expensive for physical, but from what I understand AOT 1 is just a worse version that follows the characters instead of a new character. And the mechanics and controls are less refined. So considering aot 2 retells season 1 with both its story and mission modes I'd say its fair to give aot 1 a miss

Unfortunately as I've only ever played this game as the complete package (AOT2 and the Final Battle DLC Combined) Im not sure. From what I can tell from comments the created character doesn't come back for the DLC, but I don't know how much that helps? Sorry!
I'm torn between either getting the upgrade pack for the NS version since I already own it, and because it's a fantastic game already- or waiting for an Attack on Titan 3 or Attack on Titan: Paradis Lost or whatever they call the inevitable ultimate game that adapts the entire story, from Eren being an edgy bitchy child at the start to Eren being an edgy bitchy child during the end lol SNK works so well as a game, I have to wonder if the world and technology and everything was originally designed to work like a video game, like how Neon Genesis Evangelion was [which still doesn't have a definitive action RPG video game adaption except two almost-good games on PS2 and PSP respectively yet we still get infinite fucking EVA dating sims and mobile games God damn it Japan]

I don't think there's any additional custom character content that isn't in AOT 2 that's in the final battle dlc

Am I the only one that thought we got ripped off for the final battle dlc? I thought it was going to be all of season 3’s content since it’s so expensive. I paid $30 for it on sale and I still think it was a rip off. It’s not even manga accurate and doesn’t show any of the key events that happened in the show

I have a serious question. I haven't finished season 3 of aot yet. Does this game tell the complete story with all the important things I have to know or should I finish season 3 first and then play it? Plz answer asap.
If i remember right story mode is just seasons 1 and 2, so you can play that spoiler free. However the another mode contains season 3 spoilers and recreations. Definitely finish aot season 3 first to be on the safe side or just stick to story mode until you finish it

The gameplay from the first title was 1000 times smoother. In this title it just sucks you never get into the flow to kill 5 Titans in 5 seconds, like in the first game, it's just impossible. :/

If you buy Attack On Titan 2: Final Battle digital then you're getting the full game AoT 2 plus The Final Battle Upgrade Pack, so yeah it includes the Aot 2 Story. As for online, I only saw one other person online but that was on PC. Could possibly be more on ps4. Also I'd advise trying to get the game physical if you're in a position to as it's currently half the price of the digital one, at least where I live at least. Hope that helps

So I bought both 2 and final battle but when I try to play final battle it just takes me back to the second game and I’m extremely frustrated and confused on how to play through the third season

So I only had the combo pack with them already together, so I'm not sure where the split is, but I believe there isn't a season 3 for your created character, the season 3 content is in the story mission mode section, and it should just be there after the existing missions once you complete them. It should also unlock territory mode which should just be added to the main menu once you've installed final battle. Not sure if that helps?

Yeh the story mode is the first two seasons with your character, I don't think the dlc added anything to the story mode. The season 3 stuff is from the missions option, I think it's the second or third option on the main menu?

I got the two versions of the game (AOT 2 and AOT 2 final battle, don't worry, my parents payed for them as birthday/ christmas presents XD). I wanted the second one because I heard it covered the third season. And I thought (?) it would be with the OC we create (it appears in both versions of the game). I was really disappointed when I understood that the OC story doesn't change from a version to another, because it was the main reason I asked for Final Battle.
So I really hope that a new DLC with a updated story (including season 3) for the OC will be released, or a new game that continue that story.

@@Trycja97 Well, if you don't have the first version, yes. It have more mods in it that seems interesting, and apparently has corrected some things (maniability and some others). But if you already have the first version and is mostly interested in the OC part, then no. It doesn't add so much for that part, just more levels and some minor things.
So it basically depends on if you have AOT 2 or not 😂

Wait I am utterly confused because there are two "different* download for this. One is the AOT 2: Final Battle that costs $60 and one that is AOT 2: Final Battle Upgrade Pack which is $45. So which one should I buy? are both basically the same? And does my original character appears on this one from AOT 2? (btw I have the AOT 2 downloaded). The first one for $60 is both AOT 2 and the DLC Combined, the $45 is JUST the DLC. If you have AOT 2 already then you just need the $45 dlc. I mentioned it at the beginning but yeah unfortunately the dlc on its own is pretty pricey but if you buy it along with the fill game it's not bad

Definitely get AOT 2 final battle if you can, preferably physical. Just make sure you're buying the package deal and not just the dlc if you're buying digital (if it's physical it's the package deal)

The game is mostly seasons 1-2, so it's pretty much the full story. It's done like most games though where smaller details are skipped over but otherwise its the full story

If they're a similar price then get final battle. Aot 2 is the base game, final battle is the dlc pack, aot 2 Final battle is a combination of the two. If you're buying physical then definitely get aot 2 final battle as it'll save you money in the long run

A fair bit into the story mode you'll get an assist attack that let's you Control a titan if you've got a titan in your group like Erin, and I think in the missions at some pt aswell

In AOT final battle, Story mode is season 1 and 2 with a created character and mission mode has season 1-3 with different characters from the show if u remember right.
Oh ok so when I'm done with season 1-2 and i can't use my character anymore i go to character mode and i can play as different characters through the whole season of season 3 rigth?

In aot 2 the majority of the game is played using a created custom character. You can control Eren in mission mode for select missions, and you can control Eren as a Titan during story mode if he's in your team, but that's not very often...

I've never played AOT 1 as it never goes on sale on Steam and its quite expensive for physical, but from what I understand AOT 1 is just a worse version that follows the characters instead of a new character. And the mechanics and controls are less refined. So considering aot 2 retells season 1 with both its story and mission modes I'd say its fair to give aot 1 a miss

I finished aot 2 in 2 days and immediately bought aot 2 final battle. I’m just confused as to who you play as in aot 2 final battle. I’ve done research and only found one piece of info that said you play as a new commander? Could you give me more information without any spoilers? If not that’s fine :)
Unfortunately as I've only ever played this game as the complete package (AOT2 and the Final Battle DLC Combined) Im not sure. From what I can tell from comments the created character doesn't come back for the DLC, but I don't know how much that helps? Sorry!

I'm torn between either getting the upgrade pack for the NS version since I already own it, and because it's a fantastic game already- or waiting for an Attack on Titan 3 or Attack on Titan: Paradis Lost or whatever they call the inevitable ultimate game that adapts the entire story, from Eren being an edgy bitchy child at the start to Eren being an edgy bitchy child during the end lol
