For your first time welding I think you did an admirable job it, keep practicing, you’ll get better everyday. Nice job on both ace head and handle, thanks for the video, enjoyed watching.
@@terryrogers1025 Thank you for the kind words, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I'll be sure to keep practicing the welding as I hope to make use of it in future projects!
From information I have gathered, when you need to weld up a crack, you should file or grind a trough in the metal before you weld, to get a stronger repair.
I appreciate the suggestion! That was my first time welding so I only had a general idea of what to do. If I encounter a similar situation with cracks on another project I'll give the filing a shot! :)
Very nice! A tip for welding is to just practice on scrap metal and slow your movements way down imagine the welder is a pen and you are writing something neatly, that is a good speed to start with. Thicker metal is easier to weld on if you’re going to weld something like thin sheet metal you need to be faster but that takes lots of practice
Thank you, I am glad you appreciated the project. Also, be assured that I intend to find real pieces that are actually in need of restoration, I also don't like fake aging practices.
Thank you! And really? I appreciate the suggestion and I'll try it out next time I do an axe restoration. As for Bulgarian Cats, they do have names, and mine happens to be Tiberius :)
@grimbo73 Well, it's a funny story, I grew up and lived in Prince Edward County almost my entire life, but have recently moved overseas, so it is in fact a genuine PEC shirt that I procured myself from the county t-shirt company.
@grimbo73 It's a remarkably small world isn't it! Crazy the kind of connections we can have with random people. Also, thank you sincerely for subscribing I really appreciate it.
Thank you very much! Unfortunately, I don't quite have a workshop, I just have a small outdoor space with a small roof covering, but I hope to build a proper workshop someday!
You have a valid question for sure! There are 3 main reasons I've elected to do things in this way. 1. To decrease the amount of time I spend grinding and sanding, also decreasing wear and tear of my grinding discs. 2. To reach some areas that are particularly difficult to get to with the grinder or dremel. 3. To provide an interesting and varied viewing experience for the viewers that is not just 15 minutes of the same process. However it is certainly possible to spend more time purely grinding and skip that particular step. Thank you for your curiosity, I hope this helps answer you concerns :)
Hello! Welcome to the channel! From my understanding, the cat without its tail isn't the "official symbol" of the city. However, it's a prominent part a yearly festival held in Gabrovo!

Very well done! That looks like an axe that will last the ages now!
I sure hope it does!
Excellent work. Looks like a viking style axe. Love it.

@@ArcheonRestoration yes sir. I am a blacksmith and I make a lot of bearded axes and I love those old ones. You did a great job on it 👍
Just totally Loved it🙌🏻🙌🏻

You did a great job. The original owner would be proud to use that AX. From USA

Don't get discouraged when you see negative reviews just continue and show them wrong
Turned out nice. Drilling a hole at the base of the wedge slot prevents shaft splits as the handle ages. Do Bulgarian cats have names? A subscriber.

Thought the same thing!
Internet law says that now you have shown us your cat you must tell us his name. Nice job with the axe.
Oooop you got me there, in accordance with the laws of the land, his name is "Tiberius." Otherwise I'm glad you enjoyed the project!
That looks amazing! How well does it cut?
It cuts quite well now! I'll be sure to take it with me next time I fell a tree.
Mozna bylo na ostrzu grawer😊😊❤
I hope to learn how to do engravings in the future! Or get a laser etching machine to create some really interesting designs!
that is a battle axe from the wikings . . .
ok...this is odd. Where did you get that shirt? Prince Edward County is a 20 minute drive from my place and where I'm from.

I honestly feel all videos need to have a Cat break, thanks for the video.
I agree, and I'm glad you enjoyed!
I am amazed by the work you are puting and the end results!! You have a talent! So did you build a workshop just for the restorations?

The old house had a TV dish?🙄
Surprisingly yes! It must have been abandoned within the last 20 years.
Szybciej wypiaskować 😅😢😂
As I'm refining my video editting skills I'm getting better at not including too much of one type of footage or speeding up things like sanding :)

I did not know this, if I do another axe or similarly mounted tool in the future I'll give this method a try to see if it is a better solution 👍
Boring video
To each his own. Unnecessary comment.
Did you miss the cat footage? A star was borne!
