    Thanks for all the details. I have a question related to external guest user access and how data protection settings work for External Guest users who are added in AAD? Will the settings get inherited.

    Hey guys, thanks for sharing!
    Security is actually a topic I'm always concerned as a Data Analyst and now a Tech Lead. I recently deployed Power BI Embedded in my company, we use it to show our clients a few reports and metrics. How does this feature work on PBI Embedded?
    I have disabled "export data", but a few people are complaining that I'm blocking some flexibility etc... Is this a "workaround" where only my clients can download the data and not share?

      If you're using secure embedded, sensitivity labels supported there. More info is here: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-security-sensitivity-label-overview#sensitivity-label-persistence-in-embedded-reports-and-dashboards. Using sensitivity labels with encryption settings will apply protection on exported files so only authorized people can open these files.

    Adam and Patrick. I have no words to thank you guys. The work that you do for this community is outstanding!
    I have a report that I was thinking in switch off the extract to Excel function, because of issues with the "Brazilian General Law of Data Protection" 13.709 ( www.planalto.gov.br/ccivil_03/_ato2015-2018/2018/lei/l13709.htm ). This will solve my problem, thank you so much!

      Not sure I understand the question, if you ask about dedicated tool for Power BI security this is currently not on Power BI roadmap. Looking forward Power BI is looking to be better integrated with Microsoft security systems, like M365, MCAS, etc.

      @@antonfritz7112 Thanks for your answer ; to be more precise, at present you can set RLS in PBI Desktop, then set access & profile into PBI .com (Workspace : reader, contributor,...), also you can define governance into the Admin Portal. Do you think all those can be monitored into a Admin workspace/console/platform (as for Teams or Office 365 Admin) ?

    Hi Adam, thanks for this. We do have Data Sensitivity set at our organization. What I am needing a complete picture on is Data Sensitivity + RLS + Workspace roles. I have users that have been in RLS and want to turn on Data Sensitivity but then receive empty reports for some users that had visibility prior to Data Sensitivity. Then I know Roles will impact RLS. How can we best use all three together and correctly?

    Thank you for showcasing the features and setup for Data Labels! I know the focus is on security here, but how do I get the Get Data from Power BI in the Data ribbon!? Is this rolling out gradually or an upgrade I need to take. I'm running on an E5 so I am surprised to not see that feature on my machine.

    Hi Adam, I have a question - We have a confidential sensitivity label that has protection. When I label my excel report with that and try to import that excel data in the PowerBI, it throws an error. whereas I am able to import data from a file labeled with no protection.
    So is that an expected behavior?

  • @Bharath_PBI

    Yes, required Azure protection premium license p1 and P2 plus PBI pro license , just curious to know: when data is residing in power bi pro or premium, why again Azure license?

    • @antonfritz7112
      @antonfritz7112 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Azure Information protection license required for applying labels in Power BI as it required for applying labels outside of Power BI.

    • @Bharath_PBI
      @Bharath_PBI 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@antonfritz7112 Thanks, but can we not get within pbi license without additional $$ ? , users publish data to power bi cloud after much consideration about data security but then when they hear that they need to spend extra bucks then it might be worth looking at running cost comparison with other bi tools. Certain visuals also cost extra, certain features like this cost extra, overall it's not 9.99$ per user per month..

  • @thestormoverkrynn
    @thestormoverkrynn 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do sensitivity labels also affect publish to web? None of the documentation calls this out specifically, so I assume not.
    We'll have a limited number of users who can use publish to web, but to further satisfy our security peeps it would be great to know that applying sensitivity labels impacts their ability to accidentally share the wrong report to the public. Thanks!

    • @antonfritz7112
      @antonfritz7112 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They don't effect publish to web today. Labels to control publish to web is on Power BI roadmap.

    Adam, is there a way as Power BI Admin to know or see every data set or report that has been published to powerbi.com within your tenant? The Admin Console doesn't let you drill into anything and will just give numbers of reports created per person, I'm looking for ways as an Admin to be able to report on all the data-stets and reports that are out there so I can manage everything, see what's being accessed the most and what hasn't been accessed in a long time. Thanks for any info.
