Comic Hat Movie I watch despite knowing nothing about his show, Is shockingly better the entire doug trilogy. For example joe in his character's lore has force lightning in his reviews, never uses it in kickassia when it would be helpful if he used it. Meanwhile in Comic Hat movie he uses it often to fight because Comic Hat cared enough to put that in.

Given that I have also never heard of this movie outside this group, are we sure that Dan hasn't just somehow manifested a memetic cognitohazard that should be contained before it spreads and causes irreparable damage to mankind?
You know what this means though: You've got to do Linkara and Movie Suits movies....

It's crazy how much better the later episodes of Board James are at showing James' movie making prowess than his theatrical movie is.
Not by a lot, though: that multiverse thing is so convoluted and unnecessary... the AVGN/Board James twist was cool when I was a teen but it's really very uninspired.
How does this compare to the Arby and the Chief movie

I knew nothing about this movie before this discussion other than one trailer for it 10 years ago, I thought this movie was about The Nerd trying to find the E.T. landfill pit to review the game, not misogyny.

I watched the movie with the commentary and I definitely agree that there's barely a plot after the 30 minute mark, the Nerd's friends are cardboard, and about half of the movie could stand to be cut, but overall I don't think it warranted such a lashing in the scores. Rolfe should definitely make another movie though, I think a second attempt would be a lot stronger.
Rolfe should deliver the perks that he owns the backers of the 2014 movie first... if you visited its crowdfunding site you'll see a lot of complaints from 8, 9 years ago.
The falling woman disappearing from that shot was a reference to a scene from TMNT 3 with a similar effect that James complained about when he reviewed it. He did it ironically so it's okay.
I'm going to say the unpopular opinion in this comment section: I didn't think the movie was that bad. Yeah this movie wasn't great, but there were so many things in this movie that I thought was funny for the wrong reasons. This honestly felt like a breath of fresh air compared to most modern movies today. This movie is so bad it's hilarious. I find it poetic that a character who reviews shitty video games, would end up starring in an equally shitty movie.

No, it's not. James used the money that his fans contributed to purposely trying to do a "so bad it's good" type of cult classic like Ed Wood's movies but got it all wrong...
Ed never tried to do a bad movie, he was trying to do the best he could with what he had and the theme he wanted. James did a vanity project having nothing to do with AVGN: you can slap any other character in his place and the movie will remain the same... he duped his fans.
I remember when I first watched that sandwich nonsense trip and trying to cope that it made sense regarding AVGN and was funny... it didn't and it was not.
@@redacted2275 don't get me wrong, I do think this is a bad movie. I'm probably never going to watch that movie ever again. This is definitely a movie that will just get worse the more times you view it. Quick side note: who voiced the alien in the AVGN movie? Cuz for some reason he sounds like Gerald from Hey Arnold to me.

This was bad, but in some way I still found enjoyment in it. I just choose to ignore the stuff with the other two characters.
I had this on DVD, then forgot it in another state with my ex. I remember enjoying it a lot with how corny and charmingly dumb it was.
