Thanks for the review! I totally agree with you about CTG not including the premium health chips in the game, specially at such price point. But I also understand why they do it. They know most gamers will get the extra stuff and this way, they make more money. Either way, the game is great! Since you are a solo player, I really recommend Hoplomachus Victorum. I like it even more the Remastered.
It has a few advantages over TMB (no need for expansions, better rulebook, more streamlined, quicker to set up). But I just enjoy the TMB system more overall, especially with expansions. I really like the RPG elements and game arc.
Hi! That's a good question. I think Hoplomoachus has a very slight edge over TMB right now for me. I love TMB, and if budget is not a problem, go for it (get the core set plus 2 or 3 gearlocs) but my biggest warning other than the money pit is the fact that the rules aren't very intuitive, it's a bit of an awkward game to learn, but it's excellent and super fun, and if you like RPGs it's a great choice. It takes longer to setup than Hoplo. If it's your first time buying a CTG title I recommend Hoplo Remastered plus premium health chips over TMB.

@@AitorThanks! I've had my eye on Victorum, but I'm weary of having too many campaign games. I've also heard it can be grindy
Great review!
Thank you for watching!
Hoplo AND Breaking Bad. Great taste friend!
Thank you for watching! 🙂
Red poker chips work well too. I know a guy I follow swears by them for health chips.
@@cjpny1455 they do, they might have a different finish
Thanks for the review. as you say the price it's hard to swallow.
have you tried Victorum for comparison as a solo only game?
Thank you for watching! I haven't tried Victorum. I read that it's a bigger commitment because of the campaign aspect, so I chose Remastered instead.
How come this game is not in your top 10 when TMB is? Seems like you like this more.

I probably didn't put it on my top 10 because I don't reach for it that often.
do you prefer this over TMB?
