Your undying bond with Stinglash reminded me of how I used to love Siege. Always brought that boy to every battle no matter how hard it got. I like how despite having Leonidas, who’s a cool and badass bakugan all on his own, you’re free to choose what bakugan IS your partner. God I miss this game, so much nostalgia.
It also helps that Siege doesn't fall off nearly as hard compared to Stinglash and can even be carried to the endgame (Which is pretty good Considering not every Attribute has access to a Reaper or Laserman for some reason).

As a WR holder and a mod for the Bagkugan Speedrunning Community, I’m sad you didn’t even mention Battle Trainer for the DS. It’s the only game you can pet your bakugan and the tutorial gets interrupted because Dan GETS SHOT INTO SPACE
So, fun fact about the multiplayer of Battle Brawlers. You can interfere with other the player's shots like you can in the story mode. It is just as awful and relationship destroying as you would think. Plus, if I remember correctly, you can play as your endgame character and bring fully upgraded Omega Leonidas to battle against the preset un-upgraded Bakugan of the other playable characters.
Happy to report that the first iteration of Bakugan was huge in central Europe too, as me and my fellow Hungarian children also begged our parents for them. I had one that I was convinced was some variant of Hydranoid (Darkus Gang 4 Life), but I later found out was actually Hades, a robot doppelganger of Alpha Hydranoid, which makes him even cooler! And then the spring in him broke and I've never felt happiness since. It has been my life's mission to find one again, preferably at a charity shop or something, rather than buying one online for an extortionate price, if I find him in person, then it's meant to be, it's fate! Love the video, good job as always Jack! Glad to see we're both Darkus enjoyers.

4 reboots ? I know of the original series, I know of the reboot from 2017 I think it was (and had visited view toy stores with it's toys still shelfwarming). And the last I had heard of it was probadly a year or two ago, where they relised view remakes of the original figurines with modern sculpting.

@dedalionarts6077 the og is classic to me, I remember the volcano set that had a DVD on it (thankfully on TH-cam for all its cheese) the first reboot was fun, 3 seasons, neat idea. Stuff got a little confusing but it had Sam reigal so it was fun. The 2012 I think was the closest to the original idea with a kick ass theme song. Hard to find but I liked the episodes I saw, the 2019 reboot though? Ehhh feels like a big departure with fire suddenly being a main character and the mc gormitti looking very barebones basic. Just doesn't have the same charm as the original.
The entire thing with trying to get an early game Bakugan like Stinglash as far as you can in the game kinda reminded me of my recent playthrough of the game where I tried doing the same thing but with Serpenoid. I think I actually managed to get though the entire game with it I believe, but good job on making as far as you did with stinglash.
Edit: holy shit bakuproject is great Sometimes when i sleep I dream I'm either in or playing a Bakugan battle brawlers video game sequel with even crazier stages, more in depth minigames, and a hell of a lot more characters and bakugan. Then I wake up pissed that the game doesn't actually exist

Ah, Bakugan, the nostalgia I have for this series runs deep. I remember ordering a Darkus Metalfencer online and being excited everyday to for to show up. Game-wise though, I’ve only got experience with the DS version of Defenders of the Core, the game that made me realize that Bakugan and Yugioh have the same six elemental attributes due to its weakness hexagon. 13:41 Holy crap, Cimo jumpscare. Oh dear, they turned Bakugan into a weird hybrid of Beyblades and Skylanders Swap Force? Talk about a downgrade. 49:59 …WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN!?
Huh, 12 minutes into a Bakugan video, and I'm surprised there's no mention of - 12:58 YEAAAAHHHHH, BABY! 13:44 And a wild Cimoooooooo reference appears? Now I just feel somewhat spoiled. On a side note, I remember how either my brother or I (can't remember too well which) found a bunch of Bakugan stuff at Goodwill, which included a giant Haos Bakugan and a big, metal, Draganoid-painted sphere, that opened up to store various Bakugan, which it was almost filled with, along with almost a full set of trap pieces for a Maxus Draganoid, which my brother already had a full set of. We never actually played the game, but it was still considered an awesome find by us.

I can't overstate how much I loved it to unhealthy levels but I'm gonna try: • Alice and Shun were my favourite human characters and I decided to grow my hair out and, later on, help out at my girlfriend's parents' café cuz I wanted to be more like them -- I'm 23, i have not had my hair cut since I was 8, i've spent 10 years as the café's helper and I have no problems with not being paid for it • My nana (who was always a bit... kooky) gave me my Nintendo DS one Christmas morning; my first game wrapped with it was the Bakugan game cuz even she knew how much I was into it. • Preyas is my religious deity, and I take all his words deadly seriously • i can name every single bakugan in existence, including the ones in the japanese reboot • I have a literal wooden crate filled with all of my Bakugan and I vowed at 12 years old to take with me to my grave so I will never part with them (and that is still my dying wish) AND SO I WILL DIE WITH MORE BALLS THAN ANYONE • You can't say you quote things insufferably often cuz I've had legitimately lost friends over my obsession with this franchise • My headcanons would make conspiracy theorists concerned about my mental state I could go on for like an hour but I can't now cuz I'm running those underground Bakugan brawling rings that were in the commercials (no you can't come, it's for diehard Battle Brawlers only)

Watching the gameplay brought me the biggest wave of joy and nostalgia I have felt in a while. Needless to say I am now $8 poorer and need to set up my Wii.
Watching this made me realize I was basically playing the game on hard mode as a kid. I never changed my team or bought new cards or upgraded my Bakugan because I didn't know how. I'm genuinely surprised I made it to the end of the game like that
Woo! I loved Bakugan as a kid! And yeah, I fully agree with you when you say that the actual game was secondary to the marbles themselves. I would often bring some of them on the school bus to show others (which sadly led to my 1100G Razenoid breaking), and I even had several of the special figures: Maxus Helios, both Dharak and Dragonoid Colossus, a few deka bakugan, one or two of the anime-transforming ones, and even Mechtavius and Dragonoid Destroyer. But sadly, I was semi-forced to give most of my collection to my neighbor’s grand-nephew. However, I still have Mechtavius Destroyer and (hopefully somewhere) Maxus Helios, so my childhood isn’t completely gone. But with that being said, I admittedly never got into the reboot series; either of them. One episode of the show, and I didn’t click with the new tone, and I didn’t see as much appeal in the new marbles. Though I will admit that I’m somewhat interested in the combiner figures, even though they’re most likely out of print by this point. As for the rest of the month, I’m pretty excited for it. I’m not really into Beyblade as much, but the shows are interesting. With Chaotic, though, I’ll drop everything else once that episode drops!

5:00 through 5:19 - Yeah that sums up why I even collected them myself, not even religiously either. They were basically off brand Mini-cons that looked just as robotic and cool as my actual Transformers. Used to have a metal room lamp and just stuck all the Bakugan I had on, they were fun. Still got all my Bakugan but sadly not the lamp.
Darn, I remember having the DS port of this game, and for honestly no good reason seeing how much of a prick everyone was to my character at the start it genuinely made me just stop wanting to play the game and made me stop caring about Bakugan after laying down weekly allowance after weekly allowance, like that's impressive character writing. Also as someone who had to do the power battles without a stylus I can confirm the Xbox version is the definitive one.

@@bumblesmcfumbles I know what you mean. But I played Haos once, and boy did Battle Items were key to my strategy for beating Battle Axe Vladitor, and having the Bronze card that reset Ability Cards at the end of a Battle, so I would Spam my G boosters and hoping for a shake battle level 3.
I also think we need to add LBX to this series because its basically just cool lil gundams, the 3DS Game is like Armored Core, and IN THE ANIME, THEY SEND CHILDREN TO SPACE WITH GIANT VERSIONS OF THESE TOYS TO FIGHT ALIENS

Glad to see you enjoyed the game for the most part! I had the ds version and honestly love it way more than Wii. It feels more pick up and play in its nature with less to focus on outside the battles. Also the mini games are kinda fun with the stylish. And the music is still a boop on the ds. Also the g powers are vastly different with even the lowest serpenoid getting to 440 g power at max. So the tragic stinglash situation never happened especially since stinglash is unlocked much later in the game. So it has a higher overall power!
Most of my experience with Bakugan was the anime and the Battle Brawlers game. I remember playing it a lot, and it's soundtrack was actually pretty good.

I had a whole comment planned about how I loved collecting Bakugan, how Sirenoid was my first Bakugan, how I rented the PS3 game and won a tiny plaque from a contest I didn't even know was happening... But then the Fusion Crew bit gave us the abomination that is CrustyLizard, and now I don't know what's real anymore.
They were also Boroks brain masks, or Rakshi's slugs (and yes, I forgot how those things were named). And let's not forget the kanoka discs, or the spinners for the Metronui sets.
I remember Bakugon. I never knew anyone who played the game but I liked collecting them more anyways. I also remember really wanting a Sirenoid and never finding one in the right attribute

My most significant memory of bakugan was when one of my cousins had collected several of them for their home. Including the 7-1 dragon combiner toy i thought was the coolest thing ever growing up.
Bakugan, Beyblade, and Chaotix... the three pieces of my childhood that wasn't Pokemon. My nostalgia knows no bounds. Edit: Battle Brawlers was a game I sought to complete 100%, and I almost did. I even had a cheat code book to get locked Bakugan. This was one of the games of my childhood of all time. 7/10 from me.
Brings back good memories, loves the first anime and even had the ds game. Lost kntrest after they stopped being purley spherical because id discovered mtg in my teenage years. I remember having a blast on the DS version of this. I also remember not having to deal with the annoying arenas as I believe they’re almost entirely just reskins of the tutorial arena due to the DS’s limited hardware. It helped alot

I know of the original series, I know of the reboot from 2017 I think it was (and had visited view toy stores with it's toys still shelfwarming). And the last I had heard of it was probadly a year or two ago, where they relised view remakes of the original figurines with modern sculpting.

I’ve been trying to remember the name of that series for so long! The commercials for the earlier versions have been in my head for a while now (mainly the first with Gheos and Noctis, and the second with Barbatos and Carapax), but I couldn’t remember the name. I’m thankful for the help.

@dedalionarts6077 the og is classic to me, I remember the volcano set that had a DVD on it (thankfully on TH-cam for all its cheese) the first reboot was fun, 3 seasons, neat idea. Stuff got a little confusing but it had Sam reigal so it was fun. The 2012 I think was the closest to the original idea with a kick ass theme song. Hard to find but I liked the episodes I saw, the 2019 reboot though? Ehhh feels like a big departure with fire suddenly being a main character and the mc gormitti looking very barebones basic. Just doesn't have the same charm as the original.
The entire thing with trying to get an early game Bakugan like Stinglash as far as you can in the game kinda reminded me of my recent playthrough of the game where I tried doing the same thing but with Serpenoid. I think I actually managed to get though the entire game with it I believe, but good job on making as far as you did with stinglash.

Sometimes when i sleep I dream I'm either in or playing a Bakugan battle brawlers video game sequel with even crazier stages, more in depth minigames, and a hell of a lot more characters and bakugan.
Then I wake up pissed that the game doesn't actually exist

During fights with antagonists if the brawlers lost their bakugan would outright be dragged to the doom dimension (literally hell for bakugan.)

Ah, Bakugan, the nostalgia I have for this series runs deep. I remember ordering a Darkus Metalfencer online and being excited everyday to for to show up. Game-wise though, I’ve only got experience with the DS version of Defenders of the Core, the game that made me realize that Bakugan and Yugioh have the same six elemental attributes due to its weakness hexagon.

On a side note, I remember how either my brother or I (can't remember too well which) found a bunch of Bakugan stuff at Goodwill, which included a giant Haos Bakugan and a big, metal, Draganoid-painted sphere, that opened up to store various Bakugan, which it was almost filled with, along with almost a full set of trap pieces for a Maxus Draganoid, which my brother already had a full set of. We never actually played the game, but it was still considered an awesome find by us.

This show was my everything growing up. I can't overstate how much I loved it to unhealthy levels but I'm gonna try:
• Alice and Shun were my favourite human characters and I decided to grow my hair out and, later on, help out at my girlfriend's parents' café cuz I wanted to be more like them -- I'm 23, i have not had my hair cut since I was 8, i've spent 10 years as the café's helper and I have no problems with not being paid for it
• My nana (who was always a bit... kooky) gave me my Nintendo DS one Christmas morning; my first game wrapped with it was the Bakugan game cuz even she knew how much I was into it.
• Preyas is my religious deity, and I take all his words deadly seriously
• i can name every single bakugan in existence, including the ones in the japanese reboot
• I have a literal wooden crate filled with all of my Bakugan and I vowed at 12 years old to take with me to my grave so I will never part with them (and that is still my dying wish) AND SO I WILL DIE WITH MORE BALLS THAN ANYONE
• You can't say you quote things insufferably often cuz I've had legitimately lost friends over my obsession with this franchise
• My headcanons would make conspiracy theorists concerned about my mental state
I could go on for like an hour but I can't now cuz I'm running those underground Bakugan brawling rings that were in the commercials (no you can't come, it's for diehard Battle Brawlers only)
Watched 85+ videos on this channel, and with each one I've thought "Yeah, fine content & all, but when the HELL is he going to make a Stinglash video?" Took a while, but I'm happy to see the star of the show make an appearance.

Watching the gameplay brought me the biggest wave of joy and nostalgia I have felt in a while. Needless to say I am now $8 poorer and need to set up my Wii.
Watching this made me realize I was basically playing the game on hard mode as a kid. I never changed my team or bought new cards or upgraded my Bakugan because I didn't know how. I'm genuinely surprised I made it to the end of the game like that

Woo! I loved Bakugan as a kid! And yeah, I fully agree with you when you say that the actual game was secondary to the marbles themselves. I would often bring some of them on the school bus to show others (which sadly led to my 1100G Razenoid breaking), and I even had several of the special figures: Maxus Helios, both Dharak and Dragonoid Colossus, a few deka bakugan, one or two of the anime-transforming ones, and even Mechtavius and Dragonoid Destroyer. But sadly, I was semi-forced to give most of my collection to my neighbor’s grand-nephew. However, I still have Mechtavius Destroyer and (hopefully somewhere) Maxus Helios, so my childhood isn’t completely gone.
But with that being said, I admittedly never got into the reboot series; either of them. One episode of the show, and I didn’t click with the new tone, and I didn’t see as much appeal in the new marbles. Though I will admit that I’m somewhat interested in the combiner figures, even though they’re most likely out of print by this point.
As for the rest of the month, I’m pretty excited for it. I’m not really into Beyblade as much, but the shows are interesting. With Chaotic, though, I’ll drop everything else once that episode drops!

5:00 through 5:19 - Yeah that sums up why I even collected them myself, not even religiously either. They were basically off brand Mini-cons that looked just as robotic and cool as my actual Transformers. Used to have a metal room lamp and just stuck all the Bakugan I had on, they were fun. Still got all my Bakugan but sadly not the lamp.

Darn, I remember having the DS port of this game, and for honestly no good reason seeing how much of a prick everyone was to my character at the start it genuinely made me just stop wanting to play the game and made me stop caring about Bakugan after laying down weekly allowance after weekly allowance, like that's impressive character writing.
Also as someone who had to do the power battles without a stylus I can confirm the Xbox version is the definitive one.

@@bumblesmcfumbles I know what you mean. But I played Haos once, and boy did Battle Items were key to my strategy for beating Battle Axe Vladitor, and having the Bronze card that reset Ability Cards at the end of a Battle, so I would Spam my G boosters and hoping for a shake battle level 3.
I also think we need to add LBX to this series because its basically just cool lil gundams, the 3DS Game is like Armored Core, and IN THE ANIME, THEY SEND CHILDREN TO SPACE WITH GIANT VERSIONS OF THESE TOYS TO FIGHT ALIENS

Glad to see you enjoyed the game for the most part! I had the ds version and honestly love it way more than Wii. It feels more pick up and play in its nature with less to focus on outside the battles. Also the mini games are kinda fun with the stylish. And the music is still a boop on the ds. Also the g powers are vastly different with even the lowest serpenoid getting to 440 g power at max. So the tragic stinglash situation never happened especially since stinglash is unlocked much later in the game. So it has a higher overall power!

I remember when I was younger I went my best friends house, I was like 6 and he was very proud of his bakugan collection but I ignored everything he said because he had Skylanders and I was cool so I wanted to play Skylanders, then when I left I noticed a shelf full of marbles that turned into dragons, I stole a red one and never looked back, I assumed he didn't notice until the next time I saw him he blanked me, it's over a decade later and he still hasn't said a word to me and you know what? I regret nothing it was really cool it turned into a DRAGON

Aw cmon Bionicle wasn’t just a collectable gimmic,. The closest it had were the masks you could collect.
They were also Boroks brain masks, or Rakshi's slugs (and yes, I forgot how those things were named). And let's not forget the kanoka discs, or the spinners for the Metronui sets.
I mean you kinda collected the sets you wanted based on appearances and how you wanted to mash them together to make a super bionicle

I never really got into the Bakugon cartoon, but I got Bakugon Battle Brawlers with my Wii for Christmas and I absolutely loved it
1:09 He listed off Ninjago as one of the things cashing in on the success of pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh. When it first started out he would be right, but Ninjago has grown to be so much more since then.

My most significant memory of bakugan was when one of my cousins had collected several of them for their home. Including the 7-1 dragon combiner toy i thought was the coolest thing ever growing up.

Edit: Battle Brawlers was a game I sought to complete 100%, and I almost did. I even had a cheat code book to get locked Bakugan. This was one of the games of my childhood of all time. 7/10 from me.
Brings back good memories, loves the first anime and even had the ds game. Lost kntrest after they stopped being purley spherical because id discovered mtg in my teenage years. But man, it was a great watch, brought back so many memories. I still have my favourites in a little tin on my shelf. Great video
I remember having a blast on the DS version of this. I also remember not having to deal with the annoying arenas as I believe they’re almost entirely just reskins of the tutorial arena due to the DS’s limited hardware. It helped alot
