Lunduke is a bit of an oddball lately. Doesn't mean some of his points are not valid imho. So: a director who's not stepping out within the first month (even with just a blanket statement) is not the one guiding any ship whatsoever. The issue in the background I find even more 'worrying': we (the FOSS community) have to learn the lesson that. also in our little paradise' there's not such a thing as a free lunch. People need to get paid for what they are doing, infra isn't free anymore, running a business isn't that easy etc. And e expect our software (and support! and development!) to be and remain free. This is daydreaming that's not sustainable at all. Btw, i can follow your reasoning on the 'values' of Gnome being worthwhile, but I also see Lunduke's point that they (right now) don't contribute to saving the foundation.
