My homeboys...the pride of East LA...Lobos always put on a great show...they can play ANYTHING and do it soo well...blues,rock,punk,country,tex mex,soul,classic rock.......they've sold nearly 8 million records and have won 3 Grammys....they've been rocking since 1973 & still going strong...their 23rd album comes out in 3 months....
I love this band so much, seen them a bunch of times. And it wasn't til right now that I thought "that intro sounds a lot like the start of Costello's cover of What's So Funny About Peace Love and Understanding". I mean, G to C happens in a lot of songs, but I know they sorta existed in an extended orbit, and they even covered "Uncomplicated" on a latter EP.
Keep exploring their catalogue. Los Lobos is one of the most eclectic bands I have ever heard. They keep evolving and absorbing more musical styles into their repertoire -- without losing track of their own roots. They specialize in pleasantly surprising people who have them pigeon-holed before they hear even one note due to the Spanish-sounding name.
Go See these Master Musicians Live if Possible. Just saw them 2x March 2022 and travelling 4-23- 2022 to see them again. 🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼 Rockers at Heart. 🎸🎸🎸3 Amazing Guitarists and very tight Band.
I know it's more than a year later than the date on your video, but I just have to ask you to check out more of this band if you haven't by now! Will the wolf survive is great, La Pistola y El Corazon! The neighborhood is a personal favorite of mine. Be still! Mariachi in english! The guitarron and however they recorded it is some awesome bass tone! The whole album is great! Emily! One time one night! The neighborhood! I think, based on your reaction, that you'll become a big fan of this band if you haven't already.
Hey Kristin! Just started watching your takes on the videos and love em!! The guy introducing Los Lobos is, that the crowd was booing (😆), was Alan Hunter. He was one of the original MTV VJ's when MTV first started up. A lot of people probably booed him. Lol.

I have heard this song played right before John Kay & Steppenwolf came onstage, great idea for them to use this song for that!
