There’s also no sound insulation in the inside the top of the bus, so it echos. One thing i really like about this bus though is that is is sooooooo much smoother than IC busses

I love my Thomas! My favourite thing about it is how high I sit, good for short people. I learned how to drive in an IC but my first route came with a Thomas and I immediately knew I liked it better. I think we can all agree the Blue Birds are the worst!

The fuel pedal is supposed to be on the floor, whenever i drive a truck that has the fuel pedal hung (looking at you mack and international) it ends up hurting my ankle. If you think the blind spots in that are bad wait till you drive a semi lol
Ive ridden both, the new IC are better in every aspect over the Thomas busses and almost everything is better than the previous ic busses. My only complaints about the new IC is the seat backs go up way higher so you don't have a good view of the road as a passenger from the 1st row, and the suspension is significantly harder, probably just cause its new tho.

Schools in my country/state actually charter private and public buses. Some schools may own a bus or 2 but that's more for off school activities (swimming lessons etc). No such thing as a "dedicated school bus" like in the USA.
I agree as a 10th grade student that the ic ce's are better but my school district uses mostly Thomas C2's and the problems the seats are uncomfortable and are to close together as my knees are always smashed up against the seat because I'm a tall guy at 6'0 and the district rarely replaces their buses as the drive like older model c2's from like 2005 or 2006.

i, have been driving is the school buses for the 29 year i start when the plane came from europe from home country to the us and personally is i love is the saf-t-liner c2 i drive is the 2007 that does not have the blind thing or whatever is ccalled and my pedals are not attatched to the floor but when i did drive ce i just found is the un comfort able
HS Senior here, student POV. My main, primary bus is an IC CE, and when it's all tuned up its a nice ride, even sitting in the back half seat (enough to play Uno with one other person across from me.) It's mainly just a comfortable feeling; the seats are nicely sized, the window-to-body ratio is nice as well, there's a good decent lot of visibility. I'm aware not all busses are made equal, but ours has climate control. My old bus in Middle School was a Thomas C2, and I'd still prefer the IC CE over the two. The C2 felt too large, the supports between the windows were dummy thicc, and the seats were much, much taller than the CE. And the back half seat doesn't even have a window. This is purely from a comfortability standpoint. Not sure about the mechanical aspect.

The one thing I miss from the old busses are the bottoms on the left side. For me it was easy to memorize where they were all at because it sort of reminds me of playing the piano. But with the Içores I am chasing the buttons on the steering wheel but at least their are lights and easy programmable clock whereas the Blue Birds are operating in third if the lights, useless clock, buttons are all over the place like Içores. But the old busses have a dog house unit holding the motor which you have to manuver over to get in your seat. Ugh
The C2 has better compartmentalization and a sealed windshield. The CE has a set-in windshield which allows more water intrusion into the cabin as well as the possibility of the glass just falling out in the event of body deformation. I enjoy the C2 because of the high-quality manufacturing and the safety that Thomas puts into its design. The CE also is a good bus.
Too new - The bus I owned was a 1988 International Carpenter school bus and man, I LOVED it! Not computerized, like modern day buses! It was about 37ft and had a reliable diesel engine (got the car out of that damn mud hole in the driveway a few times 😂) ! Wish I still had it - had to sell it when I moved (so mad) !

I don't like those either really, I didn't know that they were uncomfortable for (some) drivers, because the rows of the seats were not straight of parallel or whatever, which makes it harder to talk to a friend or someone and when the bus accelerates, you almost fall off the seat and it just kinda gives me OCD, because of the seats
Kinda both cuz in dismissal I take the IC bus and my brother since he was in 4th or 3rd grade he would sometimes take the Thomas c2 but mostly some Thomas buses but Thomas I love it most and I like the IC too.

Flat noses are called Transit / Type D buses, only difference is that the flat noses typically hold more.

I just cataloged a 1987 School Bus for sale. It jist amazes me that buses from the 80's are still being used
