'How to be a knucklehead and STILL WIN!'~LOVE it, Chris!!!😂
Me too. That was a great stage. ❤️🔥👊🦋💪🚲
Exceptional Knucklehead 😂
You're gonna ride three times the effort to win as a knucklehead.
Just watched when alaphillipe said to mirco , " I will remember this for the rest of my life" thanking him ❤️
He's now a stage winner in all three tours, chapeau 💪
I love when Ja is on form. 😜🦋👊🔥
😂 Keep your pants on, it’s a flash in the pan. The guys done. WGAF.
@@gabrieljohannson6777 exactly, that is unless everyone’s sick or injured and then he might have one good day and then you get what we’ve seen as of the last few days, nothing. You watch he’s over an hour behind and of course the Sylvanian and the other leaders might let him get away and everybody will be pointing to how magnificent he is again if he happens to pull another one off, as a junior I used to train with Andy Bishop in Tucson Arizona back in the mid 80s and maybe I decided to go into engineering instead of professional racing because even though I was invited to the 7-Eleven Junior Monger team and the OTC, I chose education and as an 18 year-old junior my fastest time for the 40 K was only 52 : 18 so I saw the writing on the wall, but you watch they’ll be people singing his praises when he pulls off a stage when here or there, but as a GC contender, he’s over
When a knucklehead does knucklehead things and wins, this is the best.
100% agreed. We are all sitting on the couch being surprised awe thinking, nope he can’t do it, wait, oh man he did it. I texted my friend and said, when they catch JA he’s in trouble. 😂 😜💪🚲🔥👊🦋💨🦋
Yes . From knuckle head to hero in one fell swoop….. he wasn’t a knucklehead at all. He’s a risk taker. He tries things. We love his courage
Not what the fans wanted. What the fans needed!!
💯 I was yelling for him the last 11k.
Agreed 😂🦋👊👊👊👊👊🦋🦋🦋
Julien’s day with Mirco was LEGENDARY! 🔥One of the most beautiful rides and wins in cycling racing! So thrilled to see him back BRAVO! 👏🏆✨I hope he and Mirco will be friends forever after the inspiring day they shared together. Julien was Mirco’s hero as a kid and in an Italian interview after the stage Mirco said he couldn’t believe the ride he’s just had with his very own hero. Let’s hope we see Mirco win a stage soon. What a beautiful sport.
❤
What a great story, thanks for sharing it.
thats awesome!
wonder if the sport director for mirco is an aliphilpe fan too by not telling mirco to stop working with aliphipe.
“Filipo Ganna going TGV style” is hilarious hahahahaha. European cultural knowledge require to get this one 😎🦋
Made a donation to the Horner Cycling Foundation Chris - you saved me from having to buy a Max subscription to watch the Giro, so I'm paying it forward. 😁👊🦋💸🚲💥
Same here
Where are you watching?
Right here, getting the report from Chris, saves me a lot of time, and $22 for Max. 😁🙌👊🦋🥂🎉😂
discovery?? or is this max in america
For all of his work promoting pro cycling, they should just give Chris rights to use the video footage for the Butterfly Effect, like five minutes or so of his choosing. Plus, there would be the added bonus of being able to see knuckleheads in motion and slow motion, too. 😀
When J.A. went from 100k out. I was thinking what the hell is he going to do today. Well, I guess he was going to win today. And the digs the commentators took at P.L. where priceless!
As you give your analysis, I'm watching the 2010 TDF and watching you lead Lance up the mtn in the first day in the alps, and you popped open a can of coke. Lol. Another great analysis 👏 🤜🤛
Love me a coke and hard bike race. ❤️🦋👊🥤😂
Yesss!! When I saw the stage profile yesterday. I was like "This is Alaphilippe stage" He did it. I forkin love that guy!
We all do. That was a great stage. 😜🦋👊❤️🚲💨
It was like watching Road World Flanders 2021 only the action started much much earlier.
So glad to see both Alaphilippe and Valgren are back on form.
Today was worth the wait, Viva Alaphillipe!
🔥🦋👊
Magnificent win from Julian Alaphilippe and great work from UAE Team Victorious to keep the race leader Pogacar nice and refreshed.
Hahaha UAE Team Victorious
Now, that's the Alaphilippe of old. No teamwork, no tactics, just a crazy attack 100+ kms out with one other nobody rider from another team who did a great job working with him, for some reason. And he wins with panache. The punchy course did favor him, but in recent times he's had trouble converting even in such situations. So bravo to him.
Maestri was thinking. I’m going to be tv all day long and this stage will be remembered for a very long time. Screw it, I’m going with LouLou and I am going to do LuLu things until I no longer can. 😂😜🦋👊💪🚲
Watching the breakaway with Alaphilippe in front, Maestri was a normal human body with a whippet in front of him 😉
😂🦋👊
How great for the sport when one of the good guys wins like this - guts, stamina, sportsmanship.
Magnificent win by Alaphilippe, which seemed improbable when he first made the move, to make up for the disappointments of the last two crash-filled years. Chapeau too to Maestri, who must have known he was unlikely to win, given the steep final climb, yet contributed his fair share of pulling in the two-man breakaway.
Oh yeah, where is Julian been lately, oh that’s right nowhere after this effort at least so far and if he does have a good day it’s only because he’s over an hour behind and the GC contenders let him go. Julian as a grand tour winneris washed up Unless the major contenders are all injured or sick, true or not true?
Agrees with relegation. Agrees with Dan Lloyd. Who are you and what did you do with Chris!😂
Dan must be thinking, yes I made on Chris’ good list. Then by the end of video he’s back on the knucklehead list again. 😂🦋👊
So happy for Julian to overcome his injuries and insults from his boss, who did apologize and is, after all, still paying Julian the big bucks for his starring role on the team. And I have to suspect that perhaps Patrick was fearful that Julian was easing into an emeritus role and needed a swift wake-up call to get back in gear. And whatever, just great to see Julian win again and as a lone wolf no less, wolfpack like that! 😀
I told my chat group, "can't wait to hear Horner's commentary tonight". 🤣🤣 I knew you'd like JA working with Maestri.
We all love some LouLou at his best. 😂❤️🚀👊
JA is not a knucklehead. He's been racing like this since he came into the peloton. This is his style, the only style he has ever known. And it has won him a lot of races in the past, and today it has won him another big one. This is JA being JA, and you cannot call him a knucklehead for that. A knucklehead would be somebody who is doing things that he is not used to doing, and getting ZERO result out of that. That is a knucklehead. But JA's style has gotten him BIG wins in the past.
And just think how many more he could have won if he was using better strategy!
Not exactly. He would win more if he were not a knucklehead. BUT. We would not love him as much as we do. So maybe you are half right. 50/50 whether he makes more money racing like LouLou or if he won more. The world will never know. 😂🦋👊🔥💥🚲
@@ChrisHornerCycling Time and Time again he has fizzled out, but not this day, which makes it all the more pleasing
@@sandydennylives1392 love your moniker - Who knows where the time goes?
@@neilritson7445 Glad you like her too, a rich career indeed, a true Mercx
Robbie is a great sprinter and like all great sprinters he never blames sprinters. Sprinters love to blame their teams, the organizers, their bikes, even their shoes. Sprinters are the best. 🛋️🦋
Exactly 👊🦋😂
When I saw Alaphilippe attack, I rolled my eyes saying “here we go again!”. But I might’ve have underestimated him. This was really a redemption stage for Julian to shut his critics down! I, for sure, have a lot more respect for him now!
Thanks for yet another great stage analysis! 🙏
Well now after stage 15 is over an hour behind and almost a half hour off first place in this stage, he’s great when it comes to a one off, but then again only time will tell during this tour if he wins another one and let’s face it the GC riders might just let him go considering he’s over an hour behind But people who love him will say see he’s on form he just won another stage
Julian Alaphilippe must’ve heard he made Chris’ KnuckleHead list… 😂… he was on fire today… 🍻
not only is he in great shape again, he also raced clever! He needed Maestri to do a duo TT, but early it was clear that Maestri had problems to follow him on the climbs, he had no chance to win the stage. So he let him earn sprint and intergiros on the way to motivate him to work - he created a win-win situation and he won the stage, not following the commands from his DS Bramati, who wanted him to drop back to the group behind. Great race of the Frenchman! Will be interesting for which team he will ride next year...😂
Alaphilippe's contract is through the end of this year...I'd like to see him leave Lefevere in the rear view.
It’s going to get interesting over there 👊🦋
I think he will. JA was not amused about Lefevere's attacks, and after he showed he is on form again he will not agree to ride for less money (as Lefevere wants)
Lefevre has 3 gears on his mouth. Gear 1 fully greased up for a poulain (Evenepoel)
Gear 2 cranking to sharpen riders he wants on edge (Lampaert)
Gear 3 fully blocking for riders he wants to annoy as much as possible
Lefevre has been on gear 3 with Alaphilippe for quite some time. He starts gear 3 to get a rider to sign elsewhere. And he continues gear 3 after the rider signs, for pleasure.
@@fiddleronthebike on form, I guess if you consider one stage as being on form, but then the rest of the stages getting waxed to the tune of close to 30 minutes being on form, OK maybe. Now that he’s over an hour behind and the big boys let him go and if he wins another people will be pointing saying see he’s on form, well I guess he’s on form when you take out the big boys and let him do a little cleanup
@@metallica2500he was not riding for GC, so of course it’s totally fine to be an hour behind the leader. When he went for a stage and it turned out he wouldn’t get it he didn’t power to the finish, would be wasted energy. But that stage was won in style, and he did countless attacks before… not the most intelligent style of riding, but he showed to be back. You WILL SEE
Mirco Maestri is "maestro" of the breakaways. Great ride from him, great collaboration with Alaphilippe and a great stage to watch.
Alaphilippe - congrats with a win and welcome to the Grand Slam club.
p.s. Chris you're as always on top with your commentary!
Today I realized I need to start tuning in earlier 🤣
Tell me about it. I live on the west coast. 😂💤🦋👊
Knucklehead count: 6
Goes to show you can be a knucklehead and a stage winner at the same time.
And normally when we get both during a race it makes for great racing and viewing ❤️👊🦋
Butterfly effect! you are my number one bike race channel!
What a magnificent ride! Great to see the comeback. Top call Chris.👍🚴
👊🚲🔥💨🚲💪🦋
This is definitely a year of long breakaways! Congratulations JA 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
👊🦋
man I was waiting so hard for this one, thanks chris & garett
!
👊🦋🔥
Unreal recap as usual!! Always appreciate your & your boys hard work!
👊🦋🙏
It can't get any better than this , First it was Romain Bardet and now Allaphillippe taking the stage 🎉.
JA is flying 💪🔥👊🦋🚀
Love the commentary. Thanks.
👊🦋
Been looking forward to this!!!😅
👊🦋🦋🦋🦋👀
Loved today's stage - your insight and commentary just confirmed my thoughts as the stage was going. Really love to hear a Pro describe what's going on - great learning and insight. Thanks Chris!
Thanks CJ 👊🦋
Thanks for the video. Allez Phillipe! Also, thanks for shouting out the Eurosport coverage; got to start watching that.
another awesome recap, thank you.
Alright Chris!!! Love your pro show!!!
Today had so much to chat about. Loved it ❤️👊🦋🙏
Thank you, Chris!
The analisys is that good that you can barely notice CH chose the shirt color to camouflage on that wall ... arms flying right and left... head float like is futurama... this show has gone to another level! 😅
Sometimes, I genuinely LOVE this SPORT!!! The rivalries, the far flung efforts, the payoff for the gamble, the amazing results, and the respect earned and given. Great win. Great commentary from Mr Horner. Thanks.
Alaphillipe shout for mirco next coffee n baguette for sure😅Also in the finish he was still "anabolic" and veins popping hydrated. He's in great shape and form
This was one to remember. Sidekick Mirco delivered Julien to the base of the climb and from then on it was a matter of who wanted it the most. Straight from the unbelievable tales of cycling. Bravo Julian, Bravo Mirco.
Amazing Julian Alaphilippe ATTACKS From 126 KILOMETERS and then final climb he averages 450 watts and maxed at 610.
Those are insane numbers yet Julian is only 44 in the GC standings.
He saves his legs on some stages so he can go big on others. 👊🦋🔥
@@ChrisHornerCycling do you think Julian has the ability to win any of the three big tours?
This Alafreep guy has got some legs!
He’ll deteer the best challengers!
He never slowed down. I hope JA is back at his best again. It certainly looked like today. 🙏🦋🔥💪👊
Thanks Chris...and Garrett. Papillon ! and Orla ?
When Allaphillipe went over the line and put his arms up, my 11 year old son says, dad, he's got biceps.... I didn't know cyclists had biceps
BOOYA!
Booya. Hella finding some fitness in the middle of the Giro. 🏆👊🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
He's one of the most dynamic pros to watch race. So good to see Julian Alaphileppe win again.........
C'man maaan, sharpen your stuff up. You're awesome Chris!
The knuckleheads strike back
👊🦋🔥💣💥💪
@chris - we need to get you on Eurosport!
wow!! what a ride
🔥🦋👊🚲💨
JFC, Horner not holding anything back! And I'm here for _all_ of it. 🍻
Poor Robbie. 😅
LOULOU at 14:00
UAE had a fine race day. Not much energy spent with BV pulling GC for much of the time. If load management apples to cycling UAE surely will benefit from it.
Tighten up Robbie! He will love hearing that I am sure! I doubt however we will see a more popular stage winner this year that 'Lou Lou', what a monster ride. Payback is a bigger contract, as well as, well...we all know what!
Julian Alaph-ELITE! Chapeau
Excellent as usual Chris! It's hard to watch other post race commentators after watching TBE!
Brilliant Alaphilippe, just brilliant!
Tomorrow's stage will no doubt be boring, despite the start in Riccione. Bike Hotel Dory, Riccione! The region of Riccione is great for cycling: Via Panoramica, San Marino, San Leo, Carpegna (Monte Carpegna), Urbino and so much more. Hotel Dory occasionally has cycling pros to accompany the groups, I rode with Piotr Ugrumov, but that's 25 years ago!
It's a pity tomorrow's stage only starts in Riccione, and doesn't go through the hinterland.
Julian looking good out there. The organizers have to give the sprinters something I guess. 😜⛰️🦋👊
@@ChrisHornerCycling I also appreciated Quinten Hermans, a cyclocrosser after all. Sprinted with Narvaez, I thought he would get it, but obviously his legs gave up ten meters from the line ...
5th
Glad to see Julian get a W finally. I was thinking Bahrain and maybe Bora were knuckleheads today for pulling UAE.
BV for sure were. Wow. How many stages are they going to pull on the front for. I hope they are all tired so they don’t/can’t ride the front again. 😜🦋👊
LuLu is just a god
Hehehe. Only he can get away with doing this and still be loved. ❤️👊🦋🔥
Impressive win. Incredible to push so much power out of a smaller body type. Id love to hear how these athletes feel when they are attacking and feeling invincible.
Love to watch Alaphilippe, one of my favourites.
This should be good
What stage. So much to talk about today. Julian is back. 💪👊🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
When he went so early i loved hearing Sean Kelly. You could tell he's thinking, not again, while everyone else is excited. 99% of late he's have been right but yesterday....
Still not sure Allaphillipe is back to his best but well done to him
Good to see Loulou win if anything because when healthy he can give pogi/wout/remco/mathieu trouble in one day races. He did get help from that #165 fella from Contador's team but he was too big for that climb with 11km to go. Narvaez is turning into a dangerous guy this Giro and I would give him a nod for the most aggressive rider so far.
Right. Only top rider that’s been miss for two seasons. I hope this means he’s back at his best again 🤞🦋👊🚀
Happy to see Julian in great form again.
I love this man… he has the most boring annoying voice.. but damn I am addicted to listening to him every night… he made lots of sense and his commentary was just spot on!! Keep on knucklehead-ing Chris… 👍
At last Alaphillipe show something!
Is that a last Houray! Remember
Sagan 4 years back!? Rest of Sagans
Stort was Silence. Impressive analyze
From Chris again, rumors goes that
Chris also wearing even higher Stillet-
Toes than Orla. Milan win for next
Stage, hoping for 3 place for Tobias
Lund.😜🔝❤️
I love JA’s wreckless aggressive style - it reminds me a bit of alexandre vinokourov’s “caution to wind eff it all” mentality - it isn’t always smart but fortune favors the bold and I find that kind of racing very entertaining. I always have respect for riders who always think they can win regardless of what it going on
Love it 🔥👊🦋❤️
🐛when a knucklehead finally win a stage after 1year and a half .merci julian for the show,130 km attack and win ,shut people mouth for a bit ! bravo. the french on the attack !good defense from pinky, they ban poggy purple short wao !!merci chris. njoygiro 🦋
Wonderul to see people come back after a major setback! Whats the Worlds course like?
Always cool to see a rider fight back. 👊🦋🔥
What is TGV style ? 09:01
TGV is the French high speed train.
@@mikedittsche Yep , Train à Grande Vitesse, TGV
🚂🇫🇷💨👊🦋💪☝️
I am a bit disappointed that you didn't call Robbie a knuckhead, but Bahrain was on the front again. I hope Patrick handed Julian a bottle and gave him some encouragement on the way through today .
Sprinters always blame someone else. 😂🦋👊
Bonzi!!! 🚵🏼👍🏻💯
Full kamikaze JA 👊🦋🔥
I like Robbie, got a nice few quips
Julian AlaTheFreak - the KnuckleHero!!!!
Results are everything. If you win the stage, you are exempt from knucklehead status by default.
If everyone’s a knucklehead, someone still has to win the stage 🤔
A win does not equal good tactics 🦋🦋
Think Robbie was talking from the point of view of a Sprinter, Merlier drifted to the right which used to be thought as ok but as Michael Matthews knows, it's no longer ok. I think it was poor riding. I hope Philipsen will be judged in the same way at the Tour. Lou Lou was crazy but his USP is doing things in a spectacular way, Housewife's favourite etc. Has he been riding himself in with these crazy attacks?? If so, YIKES!
Lulu..!
❤️🦋👊
Chris "the prophet" horner😂. Man you just knew allaphillippe will win something big again. I think you had like 3 or more Videos that he got it. We needed this kind of stage in this boring week 2.
Homeboy JA is the shit!
👊🦋🔥💪
It's good to see Alaphilippe back at his winning ways.
This video is kind of funny after you made a video saying Alaphilippe is a dumb for doing these kind of things
Wouldn’t it be funny if Chris has an ACTUAL Chesterfield?
Next: do Magnus Cort. He need some bashing mojo.
You can tell when Alaphillipe thinks he might win - he stops going back to the team car every few minutes |-)
Either that or the team keep the car a long way back on purpose!
JA still the best finish line celebration in pro cycling!
He goes big that’s for sure. 👊🦋💪
@@ChrisHornerCycling I will have to practice it for my next cycling victory! Lol!
Thank you Chris and Garrett for all your time and work on the show
👊🦋🔥
ALLAHPHILLIPE IS BACK BABY!
Seems his boss's motivational tactics worked...
Or it's a big middle finger to his boss...
I don’t think it has do with Patrick. I just think JA hasn’t crashed in awhile so we are finally seeing a fully healthy JA. 🤔🤞🦋👊💪
@@ChrisHornerCycling Agree. He had diamonds in his legs. It certainly was a beautiful win.
@@joelronningen9930 Yup... forgot to add an emoji after original comment (desktop).
Alaphilippe finally got it. He deserved this victory
I think you should watch the Eurosport coverage in French or Italian, so you don’t have to listen to the cr*p most of the English speakers spout… it is not good for your blood pressure!!🙃
Horner is GCN bs buster
Julian doesn't know how to win without beeing a knuckle head.
