I am glad I found your lens review. You paid attention on so many details. You don't just tell what you experienced but also show videos and photos. This review is well done. Some days ago I received this sigma lens. Now I know how to use the lens better and what I have to consider while taking photos. Thank you Christopher!
Thanks Christopher for your great lens reviews. You are my first choice for reviews. Your matter of fact honesty and succinct critique of expensive lenses makes decision making easy and comfortable. I now won't be getting either the Tamron 16-300 or the Sigma 18-300; I'll just buy dedicated lenses for different focus ranges. PS. I love the jazz piano in the background.
These lens are really only for summer. The high f stop simply make it to dark for winter's above certain latitudes where the days are short. Then given the need to mark the mm of the lense with the shutter speed plus any crop you're really using it on very bright days.
Another fantastic review! I think the superzoom lenses appeal to beginners at DSLR photography who look for the DSLR equivalent of their last non-DSLR camera. I have a friend who moved from a 35x Canon zoom bridge camera to a DSLR. The reduced capacity comes as something of a shock. When I switched over I ended up with a couple of dreadful zoom lenses as I tried to cover all the bases with as few as I could manage. I don't even know if it is theoretically possible in the science of optics to make a lens that zooms in that far without the visual compromises.
periurban It isn't in my opinion, always comprise unless you are prepared to spend big bucks to get a decent f lens. Even then telephoto zooms just are not as sharp as due to the optical comprimise . The f2.8 800mm lenses are huge , heavy and cost up to 10K and only practical for sports events were you sit one place. For the rest of us unless your a professional , 500mm is probably the most we need , even then you pay 1500 dollars (in my AUD) for the Sigma 50-500mm and you can get thus Sigma 18-300 for less than 700 bucks . Im thinking of ditching my Nikon 18-105 and 55-200mm for the this sigma all in one as Im getting sick of swapping lenses at my girlfriends equestrian events.
I have this lens and use it with my Nikon D5600, and it’s been a great lens, but I notice the auto focusing can trip up a bit around the 135mm range. Around this focal range, it has no problem focusing on closer subjects, but the autofocus just stops completely when trying to focus on more distant subjects. When this happens I have to fiddle with the focusing ring or zoom out a bit to a shorter focal length in order to reach focus. Only then it autofocuses at 135mm. It’s very intermittent and doesn’t happen every single time, but it happens enough where it’s really noticeable. Is there any direct cause for this? Edit: I fiddled around with the lens a bit more and found out that this problem only occurs when using the viewfinder, it focuses no Problem in live view. Now I’m really puzzled on what could be causing it
I think for the zoom range and the use in vacations the image quality is really, really usable. You probably won't look at the images at 100% on 18MP all the time.
I use a 700D with the kit lenses, a EF-S 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 and a EF-S 55 - 250mm f/4-5.6 IS II. in Your opinion would there be a upgrade if I switched to the Sigma 18-300mm f3.5-6.3 DC OS Macro 'C'? Is it worth it?
I think it relies in what you look for in a lens and what kind of photography you enjoy/want to make. Those Canon lenses you have, are ok (the more recent STM lenses are better, since the iq is improved over old lenses and the stm motor is more accurate, and silent), however, if switching lenses is annoying and the iq isn't a problem, you can totally get the sigma instead, just remember you trade some iq for the zoom range.
I am interested in what choices you made 2 years ago, I currently use the 700D with kit lens 3.5-5.6, 55-250 4-5.6 canon stm, 10mm samyang f2.8, 50mm canon f1.8. Looking to upgrade my kit lens, the 18-35 f1.8 art has bad auto focus, sigma 17-50 f2.8 has bad IS, 17-70 f2.8-4 C has bad CA and IQ, and this lens along with the 18-200 has bad IQ, which is to be expected for its lens type. I just don't know where to upgrade right now. ideally a 16-50 f2.8 with great IQ would be ideal, but not the one i mentioned above. I also go on external looks of the lens too. i'm too picky haha.
Great video i have ever seen, mate i have a question please reply me soon as you can, can we fix this sigma 18-300mm macro lens this one which is in your video with canon DSLR EOS D800 CAMERA.
It will be really interesting and helpfull to compare tamron 18 270 vs 16 300 and also with this sigma lense. A comparison of ultimate convinience....!!
Nice in depth review, just what I wanted to hear. I have an old Sigma DC 18-200mm (with a red ring) and I was looking to upgrade it. I absolutely loved the zoom range on the old one, and the image quality is decent as well, but same as with this model the build quality was a bit lackluster. (AF sometimes moved the zoom as well, the AF speed and accuracy were quite poor).
Hi Christopher, I have just looked at your video for the sigma 18-300, i currently have the canon 55- 250 but as a Landscape Photographer and using a Sigma 17-50 mm love the quality and performance of the sigma lens, i like the idea of the additional focal length, what is your opinion on this compared to the canon i have. Hope you can give me your opinion. Thanks Brian
I'd like to see this lens reviewed again using your new testing system. I own a Nikon z6ii & z50. But z lens are rediculously overpriced. I do have the 2 dx kits lenses & the z24-200. But for dx I would like to get a super zoom.
Hi Chris! I am an amateur photographer looking for a ultra wide non-fisheye lens for landscape and street shots. Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 Sigma 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 Samyang 10mm F2.8 / 14mm F2.8 Among these lenses, in your opinion, which has the best image and build quality? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!
Great video! I was about to pickup the Tamron when I bumped into the Sigma. The side by side comparison was very helpful and has thankfully averted a bad purchase. Thanks again for posting this!
Hi Chris; I am going to buy EOS Kiss X7i (body) with a Sigma 18-300mm lens and its close-up lense AML72-01 for 886 for budget around 900 - 950 $. I am based in Japan they are quite cheap here. I will use this for wide range of photography from macro, portraits, landscapes to wildlife. This my first DSLR. What do you think about my selection ?
hey, thanks for the video !! i wanna buy a DSLR, may be canon 700d, i don't want 50mm and 250mm lens that come along with it. instead i want to buy a single separate lens upto 500mm, could you suggest me which lens i should buy ?
+Christopher Frost Photography Thanks for your reply. can you give me a suggestion over canon vs nikon, which brand i should choose based on lenses? which one is better Canon 700d vs nikon D5300?
+Aravind Narayanan I don't really know much about Nikon really. Noth Canon and Nikon are great although I really like Canon lenses. Try a website like dpreview
when this lens is vertical is the lens suppose to creep? i notice it stays locked( at 17 ) when pointed down and absolutely no creep at an angle. is this how the lens is made?
They're totally different lenses. One is a telephoto zoom lens with great image quality. One is a superzoom 'all in one' lens with average image quality
Hi there I am beginner and i am wondering if you could answer my question please. What camera Body would be best suited for the sigma lens in this video. Thank you
Slacker I would try a used version of the mark 2. In the States B&H and Adorama are great placed to get these items from. I don't know what's available in Europe.
I see you are using a half frame Canon 70D for testing this lens. Could you please let me know if this lens works without vignetting on a Canon full frame camera.
Great review! What is your favourite superzoom lens available right now? I want to buy one. This 18-300 and the 16-300 are out of my budget, but i've been considering the new sigma 18-200 c, the sigma 18-250 (newer one), and the tamron 18-270 (pzd one, not the one you reviewed). Thanks!
Christopher Frost Photography Thanks! I think I'll go with the 18-135 IS STM, I heard a lot of great feedback about it. Keep making those awesome videos!
EdenTech Hi, not sure whether you have got the lens yet. If you haven't, this might help. My answer is different from Christ as I would get the Tamron instead Canon. I own the Tamron 18-270 PZD VC lens and I really liked it. It is NOT the lens to replace my 24-70mm & 70-200mm combo, but it gives me a lot of conveniences and weight saving. If you get the canon, you might need to buy a telephoto lens later to get the reach. For me, image quality doesn't really matter that much for travel zoom, because the main point of it is to get the shot you want in a light weight lens. It is unlikely you will ever zoom in 100% to look at your holiday pictures and even more unlikely to use it for professional works. In addition, things like distortion and colour fringes can be fixed easily in software as well.
For similar money get the Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 and Tamron SP 70-300mm VC USD (imho of course). Much better quality lenses. They both featured very highly in you recent budget lens upload.
Hello! Can you help me? .... I want to buy a lens that allows me to have good nature photos, at a long distance. Suggestions with a good relationship quality/price. Thanks
Bit late with this reply admittedly! But, for anyone else currently pondering this issue: I've used both and bearing mind sample variation the difference between them is very small indeed. The Nikon may be slightly sharper across the whole frame but in real world photos printed at up to A3+ the difference is unlikely to be visible. The Sigma is an excellent all in one solution if you need up to 300mm reach. I've tended to use 2 cameras/lenses to cover the 18-300mm range and simply got fed up carrying all the kit and having to switch between cameras. The sigma solved the problem satisfactorily for me. Others may think differently of course. Another commenter, from 7 years ago, referred to the sigma 17-50 and 70-300 VC. Both are good lenses; the 17-50mm is esp sharp in the centre but tends to be softer towards the edges of the frame (I've had two of them and both were similarly sharp). It's big advantage is that it needs a lot less light. The 70-300mm VC is probably not quite as sharp as the new AF-P 70-300mm lenses (I've had both the DX and FX versions, with the FX being the sharper and faster focussing), but again, the sigma 18-300mm isn't far behind in the sharpness and focussing stakes. It's competent all round and a cheaper solution than most two lens combinations. It's current price of £370 or thereabout in the UK is very competitive indeed. Registration with Sigma also means you have 3 years' warranty. Another point made by someone else was that the 18-300mm is only a summer lens because it's F6.3 at it's widest at 300mm. With modern Nikon cameras, from the D7200 on, with their high iso capabilities, that extra one third of a stop of light makes very little difference. Certainly it's better to have more rather than less light, but there will be plenty of days in most winters in the UK when the 18-300mm will do a satisfactory job, and, of course, lower light winter photography provides different types of creative opportunities.
I've seen some test images from it. It is noticeably sharper than the Canon 1.8. But the Canon wins at flaring. petapixel.com/2014/12/27/comparing-optics-40-yongnuo-50mm-f1-8-125-canon-50mm-f1-8-ii/
Christopher Frost Photography. Oh, would it be possible? I am asking because for the Sigma 150-600mm C. After the update been improvments for AF and stabilization as well as some picture improvements.
Thank you Christopher for some very thorough reviews. I have some issues with focal lengths on zoom lenses. Comparing the Sigma 18-300, 3.5-5.6 DC macro with Tamron 70-300, 4-5.6 SP, both set to 300 mm focal length, there is a drastic difference (about a factor of 1.5) in magnification. Have you experienced something similar? Shouldn’t the same focal length give the same magnification? This is not a crop factor issue because the Sigma lens give the same magnification at 18 mm as my Nikkor 18-55 kit lens at 18 mm.
Lens companies are only obliged to put the maximum focal length when focussed to infinity, so at closer focus distances it might have a shorter focal length
Can you please verify this link and let me know if i can go ahead and purchase this for Sony Alpha A6000 mirrorless camera. www.amazon.com/Sigma-18-300mm-F3-5-6-3-Contemporary-Macro/dp/B00NJ9K9J6/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1521002396&sr=8-10&keywords=Sigma+18-300mm+f3.5-6.3+DC+OS+Macro+%27C%27+lens
People need to realize there is always compromise with a zoom lens unless you want to spend $ 6000 on a f 2.8 800mm. Always try and get as close to your subject as possible. I know people who own 500mm lenses and they crawl through bushes and mud to get as close to wildlife as they can. 500mm is just for when its impossible to get closer such as sports events or a bird high up on a tree,.
Recently bought this lens, and i think your review is really comperhensive ! Although the build quality is not that good, the image quality for fast shutter speed is quite exellent, especially the bokeh. Keep up the good review mate, and sorry for my bad english :)))
Christopher Frost Photography Thanks Chris. Obvious truth is the CA is crazy and it's only decently sharp. Moreover, this is an APS-C lens. Then again in this focal range the performance, or lack there of, is not surprising.
Why is everybody calling it lens hood? That doesnt explain what it does. Its a sidelight blind. It is preventing light coming from the side, getting into the lens and creating lensflares. So you could also call it lensflare protector.
I'm having just the opposite experience. I got it to replace my wife's Sigma 18-250 for her Canon T3i. Image quality on my copy has been very good with little CA. IS is better than the previous model and it pairs perfectly with the T3i. I've also tested it on my 77D and the focus system is excellent. I did have to make some minor adjustments with the USB dock as it was slightly front focusing, but overall I really like this lens.

Chris, this one of my favorite channels. I don’t purchase a lens without checking your channel first. 👍🏾
The best review of a lens i have seen so far!
Thank you man, I have waited in the Internet for months. Your review is always enlightening me, man . Keep it up

I wish you had a twin doing reviews on Nikon cameras and lenses. It amazes me how few serious reviews there are on the 18-140mm.
Thanks for making this lens review videos. This is the second lens buying desicion I make with your help 😁

I love your channel, if ever I need a review of a non-oem lens then this is the place to go to.
Even tho it is not the best on the market, it is still a 400€ lens that I bought "used" for a 100€. Can't complain, can't complain at all.
May I ask where you found it?
No "Howdy" this time??? Great video!!! Love your work!
Very extensive review! Great work! Subscribed!!
I think for the zoom range and the use in vacations the image quality is really, really usable. You probably won't look at the images at 100% on 18MP all the time.
Hi Christopher Frost Photography, have you any experience with the Sigma 18-250 f3.5/ 5.6 Macro OS HSM? If so, what is your experience?
I use a 700D with the kit lenses, a EF-S 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 and a EF-S 55 - 250mm f/4-5.6 IS II. in Your opinion would there be a upgrade if I switched to the Sigma 18-300mm f3.5-6.3 DC OS Macro 'C'? Is it worth it?
I think it relies in what you look for in a lens and what kind of photography you enjoy/want to make. I just don't know where to upgrade right now. ideally a 16-50 f2.8 with great IQ would be ideal, but not the one i mentioned above.

i'm too picky haha.

Thx for this review it helped me to make my mind. Channel subscribed!
how does this compare to the tamron 18-270 PZD (B008)?
Hi Christopher. I want to buy a lens like this one, but this video was made years ago. Is there a newer option?
fantastic review. well done.
Hi! Nice video. Could you please make a comparison against the new Tamron 18-400?
I'd like to see this lens reviewed again using your new testing system. I own a Nikon z6ii & z50. But z lens are rediculously overpriced. I do have the 2 dx kits lenses & the z24-200. But for dx I would like to get a super zoom.
So, how would one tell when the Nikon F-mount version will be available?
Great review, Thanks
please help me, if I had to pick just one between this or the sigma 17-70, wich one would be better?
The 17-70 will give better image quality and a brighter aperture. The 18-300, greater zoom range
How do you correct vignetting or the image circle when using a Canon 6D full frame?
+Julie Hale You can't. You just have to crop it out.
Hi Chris when can you get your hand on the new canon 100-400mm mark ii
Hi Chris! I am an amateur photographer looking for a ultra wide non-fisheye lens for landscape and street shots.
Sigma 10-20mm F3.5
Sigma 8-16mm F4.5-5.6
Tokina 11-16mm F2.8
Samyang 10mm F2.8 / 14mm F2.8
Among these lenses, in your opinion, which has the best image and build quality? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!
Why do zoom lenses have a smaller aperture?
Does the Sigma 18-300mm lens have the ability to attach a Sigma teleconverter? Such as the Sigma 2.0x teleconverter?
I don't think so
Hope Sigma make a mirrorless version of this lens!
Could you do the Canon 24-105 3.5-5.6 IS STM?
Will autofocus work in Nikon d5600
Great video! I was about to pickup the Tamron when I bumped into the Sigma. The side by side comparison was very helpful and has thankfully averted a bad purchase. Thanks again for posting this!
Which one have you ended up with? Thanks
+Nalaka Geekiyanage If you're after a superzoom lens, then check out my superzoom lens comparison video for other possibilities :-)
hey, thanks for the video !!
i wanna buy a DSLR, may be canon 700d, i don't want 50mm and 250mm lens that come along with it.
instead i want to buy a single separate lens upto 500mm, could you suggest me which lens i should buy ?
+Aravind Narayanan There is no such lens. The closest thing you can get is the Sigma 50-500 OS HSM
Thanks for your kind reply Christopher Frost :-)
Hope you do review for sigma 150-500mm i like you recommendation and how you evaluate the lens.
when this lens is vertical is the lens suppose to creep? i notice it stays locked( at 17 ) when pointed down and absolutely no creep at an angle. is this how the lens is made?
My copy of the lens seemed to be fine, although often lenses get worse zoom creep over time
How dose this compare to the EF-S 55-250 STM lens as not sure what to get?
They're totally different lenses. One is a telephoto zoom lens with great image quality. One is a superzoom 'all in one' lens with average image quality
Which one is better if compared with Tamron 16-300m
Hi there I am beginner and i am wondering if you could answer my question please. What camera Body would be best suited for the sigma lens in this video.
Thank you
Look online for camera reviews - dpreview is a good place to start
If I use on the 80d, shooting sports, dance
Tamron 16-300 & Sigma18-300
Which is better?
+Ki Wing They'll both be about as bad as each other really!
OMG!So to find a wide-angle telephoto be so difficult
Take a look at my reviews, and you'll find out all about how the lenses perform
Quick question. Is it worth it to buy the 70-200 f2.8L IS 1? Because i really don't want to spend €2000 on the mark 2...
It's up to you. I haven't really tested those lenses, but the 'ii' version is known to be noticeably sharper
Slacker Depends on if your getting paid for your photos or just for personal use. If you get paid, then yes the Mark II is indeed sharper.
Slacker I would try a used version of the mark 2. In the States B&H and Adorama are great placed to get these items from. I don't know what's available in Europe.
Sneaky old Tamron :)))
Good video Chris..
I see you are using a half frame Canon 70D for testing this lens. Could you please let me know if this lens works without vignetting on a Canon full frame camera.
As I mention in this review, it's designed for APS-C cameras, so there will be very heavy vignetting if you use it on full-frame
11:06 What are they doing?!
Their patting the ground to make it seem like it's raining. It can bring up worms sometimes
Thanks!
Out of the less expensive ones you've mentioned, I'd probably go for the Tamron 18-270 PZD. Haven't tested the Sigma 18-250 though
Do you think I should ditch the superzooms and go for a 18-135 IS STM?
EdenTech
Personally I would, it's such a nice lens, and I value image quality over telephoto strength. That's just me, though

It is unlikely you will ever zoom in 100% to look at your holiday pictures and even more unlikely to use it for professional works. In addition, things like distortion and colour fringes can be fixed easily in software as well.
what lens did you use for the first 10sec of this video?
I can't remember exactly but I think it was a Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 at 35mm on a Canon 6D
Which is the best budget wide angle lens for canon m50?
There are loads. The Canon 11-22 is a nice start, so is the manual focus Samyang 12mm f/2
Your vids are always well informed but tell me please, what purpose is the barmy piano serving?
It's background music. It's a bit quieter in my newer videos
Would this work on the Canon SL2/EOS 200D?
Yes. All Canon mount lenses made since 1987 will work on your Canon APS-C digital SLR camera, except EF-M lenses
For similar money get the Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 and Tamron SP 70-300mm VC USD (imho of course).
Much better quality lenses. They both featured very highly in you recent budget lens upload.
What is the price of this lense
Check the internet for prices where you live
Ok
Does it work in a Nikon D3300?
+Saskiardana Andia Leuviska Yes, if you get the Nikon version
Which one should i get? Sigma 18-300 / Tamron 18-270 / Sigma 18-250 / Tamron 16-300 ?
+Atakan Alp Take a look at my superzoom comparison video

Hello! Can you help me? .... I want to buy a lens that allows me to have good nature photos, at a long distance. Suggestions with a good relationship quality/price. Thanks
Sounds like the Tamron 70-300 VC USD might be good for you. Check out my reviews
Hi everyone, do you think this lens is better (sharper) than nikon 18-140mm f3.5-5.6? also in general is it better?
Thanks!
+Vuk Saric I haven't tried any Nikon lenses before
Bit late with this reply admittedly!
Initial response: Yay, a new Christopher Frost lens review!
One instant later: Damn it, an APS-C lens.
Hey us Rebel users need some love too.

Of course. I'm being selfish is all.

And here I am, going "YAY! An APS-C Lens!" lol
Time has passed, but I found a sigma 18-300 for 120€, I believe that’s a beautiful price for this range, even if it isn’t perfect as of today
To for sharing the excellent video.
i want to buy a full time macro lens. Pls suggest me some. thank you
+Rajib Paul Full frame? There are loads of good macros out there. Tamron 90mm f/2.8 is a good start
Is this comparable with the 80d?
Yes
thanks a lot for review
Is it compatible with Canon 800D?
Yes. All Canon mount lenses made since 1987 will work on your Canon APS-C digital SLR camera, except EF-M lenses
Which one you pefer???? Canon 18-200 or Sigma 18-200 or Tamron 16-300 For Canon D1200
Arun Louis Depends what you want. I do a little comparison at the end of this video
please review the yongnuo 50mm 1.8 :)
I keep trying to order one but they never seem to make it from China! Hopefully one day.
Tried eBay? They got one on there for like 37 quid
David Tibbetts
I know, but like I said, they never seem to make it to me from China
Oh okay :( Thanks for replying
I've seen some test images from it. It is noticeably sharper than the Canon 1.8. But the Canon wins at flaring. petapixel.com/2014/12/27/comparing-optics-40-yongnuo-50mm-f1-8-125-canon-50mm-f1-8-ii/
how does it perform on full frame ?
It's not designed for full-frame - you'll get crazy vignetting
thanks for the reply i was just asking because you do get the occasional apsc lens that does reosonably well on full frame too
hello, did you test this lens again after the firmware updates came out for it?
Nope
Christopher Frost Photography. Oh, would it be possible? I am asking because for the Sigma 150-600mm C. After the update been improvments for AF and stabilization as well as some picture improvements.
I don't have the lens anymore, I'm afraid! Hopefully the improvements are good.
I see in the end, thanks!
Thank you, that clarified my confusion.
Dose it work with Sony Alpha A6000?
If you use an adaptor, yes
thank you for the confirmation.
Can you please verify this link and let me know if i can go ahead and purchase this for Sony Alpha A6000 mirrorless camera. www.amazon.com/Sigma-18-300mm-F3-5-6-3-Contemporary-Macro/dp/B00NJ9K9J6/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1521002396&sr=8-10&keywords=Sigma+18-300mm+f3.5-6.3+DC+OS+Macro+%27C%27+lens
That's for Sony SLR mount. You'll still need an adaptor - Sony A mount to Sony E mount. It should work well when you do, though
can i capture a moon photograph in 300mm
How does this stand against Nikon 18-300?
I haven't tested that
People need to realize there is always compromise with a zoom lens unless you want to spend $ 6000 on a f 2.8 800mm. Always try and get as close to your subject as possible. I know people who own 500mm lenses and they crawl through bushes and mud to get as close to wildlife as they can. 500mm is just for when its impossible to get closer such as sports events or a bird high up on a tree,.
This has got to be the sexiest lens I’ve ever seen!
Again, nice review as always. Is this lens is good for shooting crowd, people, and something from the distance? Let's just say I'm a journalist :)
Sure, but the picture quality is not perfect, as you can see
Recently bought this lens, and i think your review is really comperhensive ! Although the build quality is not that good, the image quality for fast shutter speed is quite exellent, especially the bokeh. Keep up the good review mate, and sorry for my bad english :)))
SIGMA... I have the 17-50mm, and the image quality is AMAZING out of my Nikon D7500.
how does it compare to the sigma 18-200mm?
My reviews are standardized. Watch both the videos, and you'll find out
Great review. I will stay as far away from this lens as possible.
Glad I could help you make such a certain decision!
Christopher Frost Photography Thanks Chris. Obvious truth is the CA is crazy and it's only decently sharp. Moreover, this is an APS-C lens. Then again in this focal range the performance, or lack there of, is not surprising.
***** I meant I use full frame. Nothing wrong with APS-C lenses they just vignette horribly if you attach them to 35mms sensors.
harga
Nice and like my friend..
why! WHY! WHY! can't this work on full frame!! merde.
omg too expensive T_T
Are u an english person?
+Atakan Alp Yup
Why is everybody calling it lens hood? That doesnt explain what it does. Its a sidelight blind. It is preventing light coming from the side, getting into the lens and creating lensflares. So you could also call it lensflare protector.
I'll pass on this one.
The music in the background is distracting.

this lens is a piece of junk same as other 'super' zooms
Dear God, this lens is a waste of money. Absolutely epic chromatic aberration + useless image stabilization. Wtf with you Sigma?
I'm having just the opposite experience. I got it to replace my wife's Sigma 18-250 for her Canon T3i. Image quality on my copy has been very good with little CA. IS is better than the previous model and it pairs perfectly with the T3i. I've also tested it on my 77D and the focus system is excellent. I did have to make some minor adjustments with the USB dock as it was slightly front focusing, but overall I really like this lens.
Does this work with the Sony E-mount cameras?
yes with a canon adapter
