Supermicro’s Next Generation Super Storage Servers

I’ve recently sat in on Supermicro’s inaugural storage summit which was an online event to check out some of their latest innovations. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed as to what was in their storage portfolio.

is vmware 7 + vsan 7 support nvmeof? any nic adapter or switches required?

Supermicro is a good product. I have experiences to sell this product also visit their manufacturer at Taiwan.
Most x86 server manufacturers don't think about good after sales support. That the challenge. Once they have it. I believe they can be a leader for x86 server.

Thanks for sharing. Often time, support is fronted by those that OEM their products. Would be great if SMC have a larger presence physically in region. Perhaps its a different strategy out here.

@@thecharleschow yes they should be have it. This time is cloud and virtualization era. They (user) don't think a brand product. As long cheap and good product. They will buy it. The next one Supermicro need to thinking is after sales. For example if your SMC server having problems with PSU and need to replace. Are you want to waiting for more than two business days only for wait the PSU replacement unit arrive at your server site. Mean you just hanging at another one PSU 😢 who can guarantee the other PSU can survive until the replacement arrive 😉. But I believe the SMC is a good product. I sell a lot of this server. And this server good compatible VMware also.

Yeah. The hot spares and parts RMA is key. I'm sure they will grow in the region soon...
