I only wish I had a basement...it would be so convenient. I use the master bedroom on the second floor as a studio and sleep in one of the smaller ones.
Well, you may have noticed that the 3D model is way simplified from the real one, largely because, as I illustrated, it's all that was needed to make the point. I didn't really spend much time on it.
Really liked this video. As a film hobbiest this is inspiring to me to not shut down my visions and ideas. I'm finding over the last 10 years good films and rich ideas are coming from people like you and not Hollywood. Thanks for sharing these insights! Look forward to seeing this finished.
It is actually completed, barring any fixes I may yet have to do, but I think that's all done. Now it's just finding a home for it. It'll sink like a stone if I just upload it here.
In fact, it IS finished...I'm not sure what to do with it at this point. We're trying to get it into a couple of small, horror and thriller-oriented festivals to try and get some eyes on it. I guess we'll see how that works out.
I'm definitely interested in watching the film too but I'll gladly wait until it's made the rounds. Good luck to you and all who worked on the film as well.
All who worked on the film are me and my wife, basically, along with the cast. There was no crew; the cast just pitched in and helped move lights occasionally.
"it seemed like a good idea at the time... BUT IT FAILED" its been what 20 years since that behind the scene short? and I still use this when I fuck shit up
I don't want to make anyone feel old (that would just mean I'm old too) but I think that Ozone Commandos sneak preview video is closer to 30 years old than 20. Wow.
Very excited for the movie and for part 3! I'm getting strong Ghost Story and The House of the Devil vibes from this! Also, at 18:47 the dub fells *just* like Suspiria or other Argento movies with the English dub. Intentional or not, I love it!
Ghost Story and House of the Devil were both inspirations for this, and I definitely took some lighting cues from Suspiria as well, but I don't know what you mean by "dub." That's her voice coming out of her mouth, recorded at the time, not later.
I was referring to the lip sync, I thought it was dubbed in post because to me audio and video didn't quite match in that part. It reminded me of when characters spoke in Suspiria and their audio didn't match either, made it feel even more dreamlike. Not a critique in any way, the movie looks really good! Really hope everything regarding distribution works out great!
I had started to wonder if the effort to make that gag had been worth it, other than for the sake of our composer, who played Johnny Truant in that section.
Hopefully that won't be more than another week at most. It would be nice to actually get this bloody film distributed somehow, but that's being its own private nightmare.
Somehow missed this vid when it first went up; started watching it today, with much delight--and, when the bit about rearrangements to the came around, mentally made a of Leaves joke in my own head just MILLISECONDS before you made the *exact* same observation in the video! :D That...that felt nice :) Glad to see your newest stuff on here!

Looking forward to see part 3 of this series. And I wish you good luck getting eyes on your movie! 👍
I love the vibe of the background/studio you’re in when you make these videos. Makes me think of a cool basement I want to hang out in.

@@Corn_Pone_Flicks Well, either way, you've got great taste in aesthetic!
Interesting look behind the scenes! Its cool you did a 3D model of a cool childhood model you made!!

Enjoyed watching this and will lookout for more behind the scenes and the process of making, in the pre, in and post

Shockingly, it's been almost thirty years. We made that in 1995.

Wow.

Great work, and sense of absurdity. Reality doesn't like to cooperate-ever. The House of Leaves reference was NOT lost on me. All best to you!

I am more excited for part 3 than any actual film that's currently out. Thanks
I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing, but thanks for the vote of confidence.
@@Corn_Pone_Flicks Its a great thing, 5 stars :)

I'm glad someone got that joke...it was starting to feel like a waste of time. Maybe I overestimate how much the average citizen reads.

Sounds like a recipe for high blood pressure 😅
Well, I've got that anyway, so I figured, "Why not?"
