Very glad to see you putting out content on DMD2 app and the hardware from Thork Racing as well as other tech for adv crowd.

Waiting on the controller to be delivered! But I'm definitely going to do an install video of that and a more comprehensive video of the devices and app after having more time spent using it.

I've been running DMD since 2019 and the carpe iter DMD2 since 2021. It's amazing and by far the best off road navigation system I've ever found for motorcycling.

I agree. It works amazing well and has endless potential. Blows garmin out of the water.

How do gpx files work if you’re offline?

If you have DMD set as Home app how do you turn the app off without shutting off the tablet or doing a force stop?

If you want to be able to turn the app off or not use it to navigate through other apps and programs on the system then I would not set it as home default. I'm not sure a forcestop would even work as it may immediately reopen dmd since it's set to home.

Hey Matt. Been using this to cruise around, plot courses to get to gpx starting points, dropping pins etc. yesterday for the first time I needed to “type in an address” and navigate to…can’t find that feature. Do you know if it exists?

    • @AdvTechMoto

Offline, you can only search POI and saved locations. I guess I've never noticed since I run a sim card in mine, but I think they have it on the list.

@@AdvTechMoto lol…good deal. I’d say that’s about as basic of a feature as it comes 😂. Thank you

You can search the POI Google data base too offline

Hey Matt. I’m having a heck of a time trying to remove the shiny factory applied screen protector on my new tablet. With the anti glare protector and on ADV-Tim’s site it states to remove. Did you find an affective way to carefully remove? Thanks

I'm not sure that all of them have it, but you can kind of bend and apply pressure at the corner of the plastic casing and it should help. I don't think mine came with it.

I didn’t think mine had one either until I looked really closely and used a flashlight. I was able to generate one small little bubble in the plastic at one corner but I’m using way too much force almost feel like I’m gonna break it. I may try the edge of a blade or something along those lines.

@@AdvTechMoto just FYI from ADV-Tim: First, thanks for the reviews, it's greatly appreciated! Second, I won't lie, I have no clue.
Background: My personal T865 is the 1st generation, which did not have the factory screen protector. I also don't run an anti-glare protector on it either - simply haven't needed it in most cases. We (myself and the DMD Team) didn't even know the factory was applying these factory protectors until just last month. We had a few people comment on bubbles in the screen, which we thought was delamination occurring. Once we dug in, we realized the factory was putting on these protectors. This began with the 2nd generation device (denoted by the DMD logo at the top). As you can tell, they did a fantastic job, as they're almost unnoticeable. But as a result, this is where the warning comes in, and it's mostly that, a warning - because doubling up the screen protectors, although won't harm the device, might give adverse effects; things like the screen won't be as bright, as the layering will actually block some of the light emission. And because the anti-glare protector is a glass one, it may not hold up as well with another layer below it.
We've heard from other users that they had to try pretty hard to get theirs off as well. It can be a bit scary, but once it starts to come up, it should peel right off - but I say this only based on hearsay - again, because I haven't removed one myself (yet).
So, apologies I can't give you more in-depth instructions or a specific "how-to"; though I will request one from DMD directly, as it's a question we see enough of they should probably produce one specifically for this.
