Looking at hats by themselves the t3 is most appealing with it’s worn look, but have to say the hemp hat looks a lot sharper on you. I may try that one myself as I also have a hard time rocking hats
I purchased my first Tilley last year. It’s the olive green “Outback” style hat. I absolutely love it because it’s practical and stylish. I also like how the brim isn’t too wide. I’m a smaller guy so if the brims are wider I always look a little goofy. I’ve taken that thing hiking, camping, and kayaking and would recommend it to anyone that participates in a lot of outdoor recreational activities. Btw, the hemp made hat looks better IMO.
I think the T3 looked the best on you and have the Indy vibe. I agree with Hike On, that you are more Tilley hat guy rather than cap guy. Definitely more sophisticated with the Tilleys. I like the T3 better because of the washed look and not so structured.
Definitely agree, t3 is the business. Caps are just ok, and I've got plenty of them but the Tilley's ( t3 wanderer and ltm6) and Aussie Akubras ( massive Territory😅 and a Cattleman) get the most use, no more sunburn and skin damage
Hi! I just purchased a T3 Wanderer and it fits quite snug. I'm not sure if upsizing. After time using it do you think it tends to relax or to shrink? My head is 58cm and purchased the 60cm size (7/12). Thanks!
They do shrink a little when washed. Stretch it over your knee, or buy a hat stretcher (I did) I’m a 59 and have several 7 3/8, probably should have gone 7 1/2 tbh. But when stretched all fit fine, but have to do after every wash.
Yes a bit snug maybe but as the Barrie says if you wash it stretch it after or stretch when it's drying. My is good a bit tight but I have 58cm and my head is 57-58 cm
Hi DG. I have the T5 in Cotton Duck, it's been a great hat especially for fishing or Kayaking, keeps the sun off your neck I have used Fjallraven wax in the past to make it more water proof. The 'Wanderer' is good for the forest, snap the brim up and it wont catch on branches so much but like the Hemp one. Thanks for the review and happy birthday. PS. I think you're more of a cap guy!
How much fun must it be editing this video! 😂 "did I really do that?!" I must say that the color of the th5 matches your shirt perfect. Personally I love the functionality and packablity of the t3.
great video. nice to see all the angles of you wearing them..:). my opinion..? i prefer the tilley hats on you. they both look good. the hemp hat looks more proper and the t3 hat looks more casual. ps..don't let other people decide what you should wear. wear what you want....lol thanks for the great video...lol
Hemp hat looks good on you! Ps : I'm laughing thinking about it, a guy trying out hats... By himself in the woods... Talking to himself It's something I might do myself hahaha
They look a little bit tight on you. I know Tilleys are meant to pretty much just be held on with gravity and be a bit loose, but not so loose that they just fall off when you lean forward. It's about air flow apparently. But I'm no expert - I just got mine.
I like the look of some of the tilley hats, i have been using Barmah but their quality control has turned to crap since they moved production to Pakistan, might try the wanderer next.
Hej!
Oh, what a shame that Tilley went cheap on the T3. I have one that I bought 7 years ago, and it’s a completely different story. Mine looks crisp, the brim is stiffer and it almost looks classy. I don’t know why they went with the “swallowed by the elephant” look.
You probably bought the T3 cotton duck hat. This is a T3 wanderer, which is the cotton duck but processed to look already worn. They do it because some people like the "I've been exploring for many, many years already" look. My T3 Cotton ducks came looking nice and crisp.
@@ShivSilverhawk the Tilley website has the T3 duck hat on the Canadian website currently. In gold, navy, dark navy, khaki, olive, natural, burgundy, orange, green, and black. Maybe they’re harder to find if you’re not Canadian? But they’re still making and selling them.
Definitely a Tilley hat type of guy ;)
And I ordered myself a Tilley Wanderer as well.
Yeah for sure... you look much better in either/both Tilleys than you do in the ballcap. Thx for sharing your experience.
TH5 by a country mile. Classy
Ya just gotta have a Tilley….or two or theee. Love my T3 Wanderer!
I have T3 and T5..... My T3 more than 18 years still good condition until now.....tq budy nice video
Nice to hear. Don't use mine so much so they gona last me 100 years hahahaha 😁
Hi DG, you can make the hemp hat flip up on the sides by using the back straps to go over the top of the hat. It still looks really cool.
Thanks, I have tried it out 😉
The wanderer gives more sun protection....but I really like the hemp hat on you. Size..shape and colour of the hemp hat 👍
TH5 hemp hat looks good in you!
Thanks

Thanks . I like both but use the T3 more for know. Hamp hat beter when it's warmer out.
Hey. You actually carry them out well 👍 good looking.
Thanks 🤠

The T3 in the woods, the TH5 for everyday city.
Sun issues are important for me. I would go with the bigger brim. Cheers!
Thanks Tilley hats The best.

Funny yet informative review, thanks! :)
I'd prefer the hemp hat but that's mostly because of the color. Wish it had the snaps.
great review ty
TH5 definately 👍
Wanderer anyday
Great review! Do you still wear either of these hats more than two years on? If so, how have they held up, performed outdoors?
Cheers!
Thanks. I wear the T3 a bit more but prefer caps still. So the hats I have but don't get used that much so they are holding up great.

Nice. Yes it's good to wax them some times to keep them water resistant.
Very good review.

Hi, which one do you find more comfortable in hot weather and day-to-day use. Especially high activity..
I wood say the Hamp hat is a bit more cooler in hot weather.
Full brim looks much better on you. You're not a cap guy.
Thanks I feel more comfortable in cap 😅
I wonder why this product is not coming in the middle east. If you buy it online it's not sure you are buying the original product.
Hi, what is a cm of your head and whats the size of hats you went for? Thanks
I have 57cm and the size 7 1/8 fits perfectly
👍
Good for sun, except there are holes in the top!

Good question for Tilley 🤠

@@theglasskoala3716 that’s correct:)
I would like to buy another one, but they don’t seem to make them anymore.
Thanks for the clarification though!

Hat review with Borat. 🙄😂
This is an example of not really shopping for a hat for yourself, so you ask others to make up your mind for you. like a Puppet on a string.
Always love seeing pretentious comments.
