Right, so let me get this straight. You play this song every day yet your 40 year old daughter has never heard it before? So you only started playing it every day after she turned 40? I call BS.
If you were that old when you first heard it, how long did it take you to figure out that Alan Williams was miming Paul DaVinci ? None of the Rubettes except for John were even in the studio when Paul DaVinci recorded this number one version.

I'm generally not a fan of glam-rock, but this song has a very beautiful ethereal quality to it.
Absolutely beautiful, no denying it.
Meaning you are a fan of glam-rock now...😄
@@javodone Yea, I guess so. =)
This was and still is one kickass song. That guy just has one incredible range!!! 😉
NOT Alan, he did not sing this song!
It was Paul Da Vinci
He is miming, paul da vinci is the voice of sugar baby love
Paul Da Vinci sung the falsetto parts. Alan sung the lead.
As others have mentioned, Paul Da Vinci sung this but was under contract to another band and couldn't join The Rubettes. He still performs. John Richardson on drums is my brother in law (ex)
Grandiose ! Nostalgie quand tu nous tiens... J'adorais ce groupe ❤❤❤
recording, arrangement, melody, performance are just perfect. Love 70-ties
Makes you want to get up and dance, such a happy bouncy song , fantastic, thank you for sharing Shirley h Darlington 😘🌹😘🌹😘👍🎵☮️✋

Quels souvenirs !
My sixteen.
The voice …amazing !
@@michelbiernat9943 Not Alans voice
Incredible, just amazing how this tune reflects the feeling of an era: The sunny days!
Spot on 👌👍😎
Absolutely it's a musical time machine.
juste en rêve !
Wow - still excellent in 2022 - Great song, great band - legends !!!! The audio on this video is HD quality - well done.
J'adore
this bad boy would still fill the dance floors yet...
Este universul frumos al copilariei mele !
This takes me back
This never gets old!
Just brilliant . you can't beat the good 70's
I always loved this song.
Memories of my mother chain smoking as I did gymnastics in the sitting room...
And after seeing Breakfast at Pluto
My love has doubled
❤️❤️
Love to all you positive buggers out there
It was also the intro song to the end of the century Ramones film that's how I was introduced
slingsby86 also the intro song to Muriels wedding
This is so over the top..... But it goes so long that it makes it somewhat... beautiful.
I was 21when this song was released, absolutely fell in love with the song and the Rubettes.I play it every day,my daughter who is 40 now had never listened to it, but when she heard it she said she'd never heard anyone sing like this. She absolutely loves this song, just like her mum.Like me she says it just makes you feel so good
Right, so let me get this straight. You play this song every day yet your 40 year old daughter has never heard it before? So you only started playing it every day after she turned 40? I call BS.
@@fezhat7096 Why have you only just decided to make a comment, after a year.More to the point, I don't have to explain to you,why she hadn't heard it.
If you were that old when you first heard it, how long did it take you to figure out that Alan Williams was miming Paul DaVinci ? None of the Rubettes except for John were even in the studio when Paul DaVinci recorded this number one version.
Bylo mi 13 let, když jsem ji poprvé slyšela, a okamžitě jsem si ji oblíbila. I dnes po tolika letech si ji ráda poslechnu. Jsem ráda že jsem ji našla. 💓💓
I really wish this song and the Rubettes had had more success on this side of the Atlantic. Truly, one of the best rock and roll songs ever, yet unjustly under-rated.
You have good taste! 🤗
Listen to some of their later songs....Great be the nation, Come on Over
It didn't work because Do Wop had went out of style. It was revived by Sha Na Na later. DaVinci should have made a video for MTV. It would have been a hit in the 80s. Alan never sang a note on this song.
Ma jeunesse avec toutes ces musiques des années 70, un vrai régal
Um clássico dos anos 70. Lembro-me da minha adolescência. Oh, tempo bom!!!🌹Beautiful music from the seventies. I miss those times.
The 70s. Wow. What a decade of music.
I miss 70s.
moi très régulièrement, toute mon adolescence, les voir à la télévision était un must !
POP can't get any better than this....
Sure but pop is a derivative of rock and roll
