My dad died 12 hours ago, my last memory is a FaceTime call. He was 91, spent the last few weeks in bed. My dad and I actually climbed the hills and trees, he was a great hiker and climber. Thank you for being my dad , you were a witness of my life. Yesterday he started his last hike and reached the stars after midnight. He reached the end of the rainbow.

I am 77 years old and this song has been in my head since hearing it way back 1974. Makes me think of the good times my wife of 52 years had in Wichita Falls, Texas. She passed away, sadly, in January 2022. I miss her dearly.

March 31 and up to now skies were full of clouds, plenty of rain has fallen.
And this week the skies opened up to show the sun again.
And then, all of a sudden this song played on the radio.
It really breaks my heart, like i am sure it does yours.

My dad asked me to play this at his funeral, he passed away age 52 and I was 12 at the time now I’m 17 and sat in his garden crying listening to this. I wish I spent more time with him I miss him so much
My family Doesn't do Wakes, we do Celebrations of Life. We send our loved ones off with songs, dancing, good food and booze. My Dad who loved Motown, 60's rock and Pink Flloyd, we sent him off with great songs and all danced!!!

Terry Jacks (the guy that wrote and sang Seasons in the Sun) lives in my small home town. He doesn't have a massive mansion or a fleet of Bentleys, but he never has to work, goes on lots of vacations, has a nice waterfront home, a nice boat, and lives a pretty normal existence. The best part is that he almost never gets recognized. It is the perfect mix of fame and fortune IMO.

Oh man, i teared up when I read your post. I lost my older brother a couple of months ago. I'm okay most of the time, but sometimes I miss him like crazy.
My sister passed last week. This was the first song that came to our heads when we were selecting songs for our play list. We dressed her in 70s clothes and placed a crown of flowers on her head. She was beautiful.

my momma made it with tender loving care (tlc and the special ingredient is love. and sometimes it is tough love and it took me my whole life of 66 years to figure that out. and i have to include my father too. he was my best friend because i was his first son and i was his only dutch born son. he trusted me until his first dutch born evil statanistic daughter broke us apart. somehow i got drafted to take my pappa for his last lap on earth. i took him for his last trip for chemo to treat a blood disorder. it was i day i can never forget and it is now over 10 years ago and i saw it in his hands as he had a case of not being able the hold anything in his very big hands. i called it a case of dropsieys. i mentioned it to the nurses and it was ignored. i was his son but my ex sister flunkey fonce (my dad's favorite words and yvonne was loving nickname funnica and the best that i could say was fonce. when i looked fonce it was something dark like dark shadows and she loved barnabus collins and formed an alternate universe and my parents bonus love child that i helped in picking her name in 1964 was maryann. she could use mary as a first name and ann as the middle name or maryann as her first name and no middle name. but everyone calls her maryann. and worst of all she feels deprived of a middle name. i like to think that she would never earn an appropriate double middle name other than monkee lay (or laid) as she fooled around with a now known pedophile in the old neighborhood. i somehow ended up with my dad outside the court room. and i had to raise my hand against my father and maybe that was the trust he had in me. and i will accept that today. i must have had a double edged sword. i knew it was a sin to raise my hand against my father but if he had taken his conscripted royal dutch military training to strand that suma of a beach. my dad would be in jail for killing that somofa beach for screwing my ex sister as a underaged consenting minor. killing that flunkey for justice only gets dad thrown in jail with no way out but a really really great escape. i guess i choice the best i could and that i could do. keep my dad out of jail or break the first christian commandment honor thy father and mother. god i promise to do a better job in my next 60 years if you grant me forgiveness of breaking the first commandment and preventing my dad from breaking the sixth commandment thy shall not kill ( even if i wanted to kill something).

I was holding her hand when she took her last breath. Today, I am 75 and I have often wondered- when did I get old? It was so slow but yet so fast.
We listened to this song back in our youth but didn’t think much of it_--- until ( listened to it today. What memories it brought back to me.

I am 57 this year and after 50 the years fly by I have seen some great people pass over of all ages - most of them fantastic and many did not make 60. You never know what can happen but I will say this I lived my life to the full following my heart I exhausted the subject in every area you can imagine - but life does not end here - Jesus Christ revealed himself to me powerfully in a hotel room in my mid twenties when I wasn’t really even looking for him he just cornered me - Room 211 of the Comfort inn in Orlando Florida in the 90s - I knew then that God existed and he wants us to live with him forever. - so it’s not over - if your heart is open he will come. When Seasons in the Sun came out I can remember listening to it over and over. I was a teenager and I am now 64 years old. My brother passed away in 1972 from alcoholism. A month before he passed away his daughter, Michele, passed away at the age of seven from leukemia. This song so touched me. After his daughter passed away he no longer wanted to live and chose to drink and gave up on life. I can remember crying over and over as I listened to it and I still do.

My grandfather died yesterday morning. I seen him laying on the floor next to his bed. That image will haunt me forever. I loved him so much. He was more of a dad to me than my actual dad. He was the kindest, most loving, and honorable man I have ever known. Love you so much grandpa! It's a strange thing to think that I will never see or talk to you again. I will cherish your memory for the rest of my life!

Without a doubt--I am now 58 years old and I remember listening to this when I was a teenager--it still sends chills down my spine. I also listen to this when I think of my Dad who passed in 1982 and my Mom in 1996 and my wife in 2017. Here I sit in my kitchen, in the house that I grew up in and listening to this song is bringing tears to my eyes. I am so grateful for this music.

Burying a child isn't the easiest thing in the world. I wouldn't wish this heartbreak on my worst enemy. I remember that day he died, i stood in the backyard praying the paramedics would revive him, all i could think of was this song and the birds were singing. He loved this song since he was 9. Parents shouldn't bury their children, it's out of order. I lost a 17-year-old son and am grateful for the 17 years but of course wish he had more. He had joined the Army Reserve a month before and when I told him he couldn't stay at a friend's house he said, "Mom, I'm in the Army. You know I'll be going to boot camp soon." So I decided to let him go. I hugged him and said, "Alright. Go ahead. Behave yourself and I love you." Whenever I find myself getting depressed, I do something outside or do something for someone else. Like, celebrate something with another family member, cook brownies for the teenagers across the street, bring some veggies to an elderly neighbor, or call my elderly aunt to check on her. Sometimes, when I let my mind go too far, I daydream about what he would have been (he was enrolling in nursing school at Baylor), if he'd have kids of his own, what he would be doing.....but that's a terrible mental path. I have to shake myself out of it or I'll end up in bed for days. Hoping that you find a bit of happiness here on earth.
