Alright, let me say this first. I grew up with Ninjago. I followed it every single season up to 10 without fail, and I absolutely adored it. I never bought the sets- for some reason it never occurred to me that the show was supposed to be a toy commercial- but I still loved watching it all the time on Netflix. It was practically my childhood, up there with Pokemon, Glitter Force, and Young Justice. And then season 11 came out. No matter how much I tried- and I did try, believe me I did- Ninjago never had the same hold on me after that. I'm not quite sure what it was. Maybe the terrible quality of S11. Maybe the awkwardly placed eleven minute segments in a show that wasn't built for them. Maybe I was just finding other things that was able to keep my attention more. Outside of rewatching Lego Elves: Secrets of Elvendale on Netflix, I pretty much fell off the Lego show train. But then one day, my brother came up to me, wildly excited about this show he had been watching on Amazon called 'Lego Monkie Kid.' He told me I HAD to watch it. I agreed, not thinking much of it. When I started it, while I was immediately interested by the 2D animation- and as a huge ATLA fan, was hyped to find out Jack De Sena was in it- I wasn't especially impressed. If anything, MK potential to be the archetypal shonen anime protagonist, with very little depth and way too much energy, worried me. Luckily, my fears were proven wrong when I continued to watch, and found MK to be a delightfully well written character, with a surprising amount of insecurity, ingenuity, and empathy, and the rest of the cast was also fantastic. The plot was engaging- if very fast paced, though this show was built for it unlike Ninjago- the animation was stunning, and it managed to have this true genuineness to it that Ninjago had lacked for a long time. I've tried to get back into Ninjago many times, but each time I remember why I left. It's just not fun anymore. Is Monkie Kid perfect? Absolutely not. Is Ninjago without it's charms even now? I heard Dragons Rising is very good, so I think it has hope. But for now, I think the theme I find myself watching over and over again (man that theme song is catchy- no hate to Weekend Whip, I'm pretty sure the Pirate Whip is still on a playlist somewhere) is Monkie Kid. Monkie kid is'int bad but I like NInjago 100000x times more better. I mean Monkie kid has nice sets and prices but when I see NInjago, you kind of see the memory's of what we all had back then. (for me it was 2018) Like I said Monkie kid is not bad it just that Ninjago was a whole lot to it. And the NInjago sets are cool also.
Also the fact Ninjago has lasted longer. For me Ninjago is better but mostly due to bias but compared the beginning of Ninjago to Monkie Kid and I think Monkie Kid is better in that way.

The downside is that they are limited to specific characters from JTTW but that isn’t necessarily a downside. Regardless it’s episode length someone still finds it interesting to watch, you just need to shut your mind off the precautions and enjoy the show
ninjago was my childhood and its still is. Even tho it kinda gets out of topics sometimes its still great. While on other hand, Lego Monkie Kid had touched my heart. The expressions are better, the character traumas are nice. Its considerable since its 2d animation. It has a great story line and good characters with theories. Ninjago was made years ago. So its normal for it to have so many seasons since we grew up on it. I like to give both a chance. I know I will be never loving them equally since I am used to LNG so it isnt that exciting anymore, considring the fact I have been watching it for 8 years nearly half of my life, LMK has gave a new personality to me.
I've been watching Ninjago since it had 5 seasons and I have now finished watching Dragons Rising part one. I have also finished watching all 4 seasons of Monkie Kid and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Monkie Kid wins by a landslide. Animation is consistently smooth. Every character gets good focus. Amazing and entertaining villains and villain turned heroes that are actually written _correctly_ (I'm looking at you Harumi). A story line that doesn't stray away from it's goal. Character traits that aren't forgotten. And no cringy forced romance. LMK and LNG are basically like Toby Fox and Scott Cawthon. One carefully planned out everything and the planned each character arc, while the other just went with the flow and thought of it as they went and never cared to check the previous lore to see if it checks out with what they're about to write. I will say, that Dragon's Rising is already way better written then all of Ninjago combined. So maybe when Dragons Rising gets more seasons. I'll do an edit comparing those two.
I guess you could say it depends on which show you care about more cause some people say ninjago is better cause they’re more into it or monkie kid is better cause they like that more well here is why I like ninjago and spit monkie kid out like I spit out olives cause I forget I hate them I prefer 3D over 2D, 2D just feels wrong when it should be legos it surprised me when I heard the show was lego I somehow look through the entire lego store and not see a single monkie kid set so what’s with that I admit I HATE HOW EVERY NINJAGO CHARACTER HAS MOMMY OR DADDY ISSUES but I am happy with the fact they make creative stories for each character and their personality Ninjago has a bad history with furry legos like take legends of Chima for example..that didn’t end well. Ninjago was my childhood and is still one of the biggest and most inspirational pieces of fiction in my life alongside Godzilla and Pokemon... Monkie Kid Season 4 ALONE has better writing, storytelling, and action than every single season of Ninjago since season eleven, with the exceptions of Master Of The Mountain and Seabound. The entire show so far eclipses just over HALF of Ninjago's seasons.

Actually, I started as a Ninjago fan, still am. I love the show, but over time, I feel it declined in some bits. Monkie kid has actually overtaken it as my favorite show. It’s very well written and you learn to appreciate the fast pacing of the first season as you grow with the characters. While that may not be the same with everyone, it’s is for me. I will admit that they both have up’s and downs, like as you mentioned the designs, but if it weren’t for Monkie Kid, I would’ve never been introduced to the Mpreg chapters of its original source which is just so funny.

What some people don’t know. Monkie kid sets were pulled from the US. So the only way we can get them in to buy online. I love the Monkie Kid show and sets. Some of the Ninjago sets are boring and over priced. But when you have been in rotation for almost 15 years. You’re gonna have a large fan base. But if you haven’t watched the Lego journey to the east. You need to watch it. It tells the story of how lego created the Monkie kid. Very good story, make you want to be a Monkie Kid fan if your not already. I hope they branch the story out and create new adventures for him. because I know the sets will be amazing.
how can you genuinely say that ninjago is a better show if you barely even watched lego monkie kid? i understand, the first season isn’t the best, but LMK is genuinely such an amazingly done show, you just have to sit down and actually watch it without comparing it to other themes. (not to say you can’t compare it to other themes, but actively comparing it to ninjago while watching it for the first time ruins the experience and the nuance of LMK)
Lego monkie kid is less popular than ninjago because ninjago has had a longer run period and spans two generations technically. While Lego monkie kid only spans one currently, though Lego monkie kid usually has a strong pull on those exposed to it. I had no clue what it was until I started getting clips of it in my recommended, from there I was instantly hooked. I binged the first two seasons on Amazon prime but couldn’t find the third one so I patiently waited for the fourth season. While waiting it was just always in my mind, weather in the back of it or at the for front. In my civics class when I was bored I’d just draw red son doing some dumb shit like making a taco or something like that. I used to watch ninjago but eventually lost interest, when my friend tried getting me back into it I just got bored of it quick. On the other hand I told my other friend who had never heard of it before to watch it and so far he has liked it better than Ninjago. So from experience and pure enjoyment of the show and theme in general, I will have to disagree with the outcome of this video. there are 2 problems with monkie kid, because they are lego store exclusive they never go on sale unlike ninjago which will almost always get around 20% off on amazon which means that ninjago definitely has a better price per part. the second problem is that I just really don't like the color teal
Well the price also comes with how many pieces there are and how complex the set is. Idk bout ninjago but I had recently gotten a Monkie kid set and it had 17packs and 2 instruction books. So understandably the price would ofc skyrocket regarding its details and pieces

I'm terms of sets or series??? Ninjago STOMPS the fact it's original IP, one of Legos ongoing original shows outlasting anything put out alongside it or to replace it. The lore and world building is deep and engaging, the different elements and armies, the realms and various locations, concept's and weapons. Character development and Storylines: S2, S4, S5, S6 despite it's flawed ending, S8, S9 and S10. It fell off for me will the wildbrain era, however MOTM and Seabound are Really good and with this new series Dragon's Rising I think we're in for a treat. Set waves are great and good value reason why it makes up the majority of my collection.
My guy the fact that it's original doesn't make it's suddenly rise above the rest lmk and as many of the other series are in their own way also original but for lmk that's not fully the deal. Monkie kid based itself off of Chinese mythology one needs to either know about or look up to understand all the connections and all the Easter eggs. It's more of a matter of being interesting enough to teach viewers to look things up and learn since the story behind it is a pretty big deal even if not original. The aspect of it being original is that it takes place to a future we don't know yet characters that resemble legends of that mythology it's originality stands in the futuristic takes
As someone who watched ninjago for years and monkie kid recently, it's really hard to tell wich is the better Show. It's not even a fair comparition to Beginn with, because monkie kid only has 4 season while Ninjago has 15. I would say it depends wich season to compare. If I compare MK S1 with N S8, then Ninjago wins, but if I compare MK S2 with N S6, then Monkie Kid wins. Also, HFmasters, I recommend that you continue to watch Monkie Kid. I did the same mistake and only watched Season one, but season 2 is where it started to get pretty interessting. Remember at the end of season one where the one random girl is possesed? Yeah, that's the new female Villain. She is so scary the other villains and the Heros are afraid of her, heck, she is even better than Harumi and I say that as someone who loves Harumi. To be fair Harumi is more complex, but eeeh, just continue to watch Monkie Kid and you will understand what I mean. Can't believe that I needed years to start to watch the Show again and realise how great it is. It's not a question if Monkie Kid or Ninjago are better if you love both equaly. Ninjago can only win for me because of nostalgic reasons, but that is a lame way to look at it

i agree,i totally love ninjago one of my favorites shows,its my childhood but monkie kid its just really good and i think if monkie kid ever have 20 season monkie kid will beat ninjago easily
i only watched the pilot episode from lmk, then i lost interest in the show tbh. i know i shouldn't judge a show from one episode or a pilot (which i didn't btw) but man that episode was just not for me. also the animation is so off ngl, i ain't used to lego being 2d. also i saw better 2d animation in other shows anyway imo the pilot episodes of ninjago were a lot better than the pilot episode of lmk in literally everything. maybe my opinion will change if i continued watching some time in the future
As a ninjago fan I respect the monkie kid fans the only reason I dislike the show is it’s just not what I’m into, I prefer 3d legos then 2d legos and I’ll just say that ninjago has a not so well history with shows that contain animal hybrid mixed legos I watched monkie kids first season and couldn’t go through it all cause it felt wrong for me so I’ll just say in short *Monkie kid is not for me*
That's a little sad, but I respect that. I love both Ninjago S1-10 (I haven't been able to watch anything past the beginning of S11) and Monkie Kid so much. Overall, I find myself more in love with Monkie Kid's story and characters.

I think Ninjago and Monkie Kid both have their pros and cons. Ninjago has become repetitive but so has Monkie Kid in some aspects like the giant mechs. Both themes also are overpriced, and rely on too big pieces sometimes. I think my favorite theme is Chima.

Personally I prefer Monkie kid because I’m a Journey to the West fan, and Mk did a great job capturing the looks and story from it’s source materials. However, ninjago is also a good theme with cool villains designs. And I think Ninjago priced more well, although I prefer Mk builds,MK sets sometimes is still a bit overpriced
Never in a million years. Ninjago is superior in every way. First off Monkie Kid is a Lego store exclusive, which means it never goes on sale. Also in Australia in every city there is one or two Lego stores. Also the Ninjago show is much better. It is more compelling the characters are more creative, better animation and it has a better story. Monkie kid I found to be too hard to watch, the animation was too much I could barely see what was going on, and in regards to the actual show I got bored with it and the story by the end of season 2. Ninjago took time to progress it’s story and give us a good ending for its current storyline, being crystallised (which is a good season). Monkie kid is rushing through its storyline’s and I would be surprised if it ended by season 6-7. The Monkie kid sets are great I will say that, but a problem with them is that too much is going on and they seem more like display Lego than Lego you can play with and display. Ninjago sets are easy to play with, but can also be displayed. So, overall I think Ninjago is the superior Lego theme over Monkie Kid
Well that’s your opinion but don’t forget. Monkie kid has JUST BEGUN spreading availability on streaming platforms. It arrived in the pandemic for gods sake- ofc it would be hard to watch during that time. Besides ninjago has existed for so long- heck I remember watching it 7yrs ago. We can’t say that something is better JUST BECAUSE it has existed longer. It’s like saying that Tom and jerry would be better than any other show, AND THAT WAS MADE IN THE 60s!!
Regarding animation, we talk about 2 different aspects. An animation close to stop motion and a 2d animation. That’s no comparison since there are many animation lovers out there. And during the set prices, debatably the set with the most pieces and details would ofc be overpriced. I don’t have a ninjago set but based on descriptions, it has a rational amount of details and pieces while LMK has over 12packs of pieces and details.
And lastly for the story line. LMK has the limitation of keeping its content close to the Chinese legend. That’s not necessarily bad since it drives the attention of both novel and show fans. Getting excited with the refferences and nitpicking every episode to see what character and Easter egg appears. It’s not bad that it’s not gonna have 10 or 18 seasons. It’s a rational length for an average series. Take example of avatar the last airbender. One of the most famous shows yet it didn’t need 12+ seasons to be great. It length was what the audience needed. In conclusion. We shouldn’t try to find arguments to prove something better but enjoy the differences.
@nsenseixd I think he meant Ninjago paced itself well and didn't rush through things like what Monkie Kid did. Plus, I agree, people give Monkie Kid WAY too much credit. The story is generic and predictable with not much to make it stand out, the characters are boring, the writing kinda sucks, the animation is nice, as well as the art style, though it has the same problem with Rise Of The TMNT in that it likes to quickly crazy, mindless action at you without slowing down and pacing itself well, and has a lot of the same repetitive anime technique references without feeling unique. Also, it's artstyle doesn't feel very lego-like either. The show rather mid at best and mediocre at worst.
Being honest here as a fan of both I’ve watched ninjago since the beginning I’m an og yk but it’s getting slightly repetitive my hopes are high for the new season tho but ninjago was really in it’s peak during season 1 - 10 the newer seasons were just not it (not talking about the Cole and nya season) I don’t really know about the sets since I don’t have a lot but I heard monkie kid is way more expensive if I compare animation monkie kid is definitely better is this even a question lore is debatable since I’m a journey to the west fan I enjoy lego monkie kid more lore wise but ninjago is good at that too if you want to rewatch the shows every time you rewatch monkie kid a new detail pops up you didn’t see before also if you have red jttw (the thing lmk is based off) you will notice things before hand and recognise characters and artefacts better with ninjago if you want to rewatch it it’s good like you can just choose a specific season and binge watch it honestly mk is a better protagonist than Lloyd imo I did love when Kai was a protagonist tho but the writers haven’t done much with his character at this moment not after the early seasons villain wise from monkie kid all the villains did not disappoint so far but in ninjago you have a couple bad ones but ninjago has way more seasons so like Garmadon is one of the best written villains of ninjago and if you compare that to lady bone demon they both can be just as menacing honestly at the moment I think monkie kid is better but before y’all attack me if ninjago was in its prime I would say ninjago is better and to all the toxic ninjago fans there are way too many.. please atleast give Lego monkie kid a chance it’s worth it
I tried getting into Monkey kid but the first season was too fast and the second season was too slow in my opinion. I honestly really tried to get into it, but nothings clicked for me. As I continue to watch Ninjago, I realize it honestly is better in terms of characters and story.
Sorry, but your friend really is useless. Because I've seen the Monkie Kid series, all of it, and it is great. It's actually among the best kids' cartoon series I've ever seen. That it's essentially a glorified toy commercial makes it even better. It's witty, self-conscious, fast. It takes itself serious but not too serious and it has heart. I've not seen much of the Ninjago series, tbh. But that's because I really never got into it. I always find it bland and, frankly, too americanized. So, yes, for me that's another win for Monkie Kid.
I buy both but if I can only have one it would be Monkie kid. The average set is better and the tv show is better imo. I’m also someone who don’t care much for the journey to the west lore.

I don't like Ninjago anymore, I wasn't a fan of Lego sets but I liked the plot, but over time I saw that it was problematic with stuff like sexisim, bad culture representation, cliche trops ("boys who were pink are silly and robot don't have proper emotions so it's fine to laugh at them") and it's plot progresses nothing! Hardly any character growth, hardly any real emotions because some of the stuff the ninja went through, they deserve to be angry, sad and even take a break if they get overwhelmed, but nooo, give them trauma and drama to keep the older audience entertained but no repercussions from any of that, to keep the younger audience just to gain money. And Ninjago has so so much potential to be a good balance between drama and comedy like monkey kid, (and masterpiece at that too! Teaching amazing life lessons like atla and etc) maybe if it got an animated reboot far in the future, it could be beautiful

I know I will be never loving them equally since I am used to LNG so it isnt that exciting anymore, considring the fact I have been watching it for 8 years nearly half of my life, LMK has gave a new personality to me.

I've been watching Ninjago since it had 5 seasons and I have now finished watching Dragons Rising part one. I have also finished watching all 4 seasons of Monkie Kid and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that
Monkie Kid wins by a landslide. Animation is consistently smooth. Every character gets good focus. Amazing and entertaining villains and villain turned heroes that are actually written _correctly_ (I'm looking at you Harumi). A story line that doesn't stray away from it's goal. Character traits that aren't forgotten. And no cringy forced romance.
LMK and LNG are basically like Toby Fox and Scott Cawthon. One carefully planned out everything and the planned each character arc, while the other just went with the flow and thought of it as they went and never cared to check the previous lore to see if it checks out with what they're about to write.
I will say, that Dragon's Rising is already way better written then all of Ninjago combined. So maybe when Dragons Rising gets more seasons. I'll do an edit comparing those two.

Monkie Kid Season 4 ALONE has better writing, storytelling, and action than every single season of Ninjago since season eleven, with the exceptions of Master Of The Mountain and Seabound. The entire show so far eclipses just over HALF of Ninjago's seasons.

Actually, I started as a Ninjago fan, still am. I love the show, but over time, I feel it declined in some bits. Monkie kid has actually overtaken it as my favorite show. It’s very well written and you learn to appreciate the fast pacing of the first season as you grow with the characters. While that may not be the same with everyone, it’s is for me. I will admit that they both have up’s and downs, like as you mentioned the designs, but if it weren’t for Monkie Kid, I would’ve never been introduced to the Mpreg chapters of its original source which is just so funny.

What some people don’t know. Monkie kid sets were pulled from the US. So the only way we can get them in to buy online. I love the Monkie Kid show and sets. Some of the Ninjago sets are boring and over priced. But when you have been in rotation for almost 15 years. You’re gonna have a large fan base. But if you haven’t watched the Lego journey to the east. You need to watch it. It tells the story of how lego created the Monkie kid. Very good story, make you want to be a Monkie Kid fan if your not already. I hope they branch the story out and create new adventures for him. because I know the sets will be amazing.
how can you genuinely say that ninjago is a better show if you barely even watched lego monkie kid? i understand, the first season isn’t the best, but LMK is genuinely such an amazingly done show, you just have to sit down and actually watch it without comparing it to other themes. (not to say you can’t compare it to other themes, but actively comparing it to ninjago while watching it for the first time ruins the experience and the nuance of LMK)
Lego monkie kid is less popular than ninjago because ninjago has had a longer run period and spans two generations technically. While Lego monkie kid only spans one currently, though Lego monkie kid usually has a strong pull on those exposed to it. I had no clue what it was until I started getting clips of it in my recommended, from there I was instantly hooked. I binged the first two seasons on Amazon prime but couldn’t find the third one so I patiently waited for the fourth season. While waiting it was just always in my mind, weather in the back of it or at the for front. In my civics class when I was bored I’d just draw red son doing some dumb shit like making a taco or something like that. I used to watch ninjago but eventually lost interest, when my friend tried getting me back into it I just got bored of it quick. On the other hand I told my other friend who had never heard of it before to watch it and so far he has liked it better than Ninjago. So from experience and pure enjoyment of the show and theme in general, I will have to disagree with the outcome of this video. It’s 11:49PM where I exist so if there are any grammar or spelling mistakes I am sorry I’m just eepy as hell. there are 2 problems with monkie kid, because they are lego store exclusive they never go on sale unlike ninjago which will almost always get around 20% off on amazon which means that ninjago definitely has a better price per part. the second problem is that I just really don't like the color teal

Well the price also comes with how many pieces there are and how complex the set is. Idk bout ninjago but I had recently gotten a Monkie kid set and it had 17packs and 2 instruction books. So understandably the price would ofc skyrocket regarding its details and pieces

Ninjago STOMPS the fact it's original IP, one of Legos ongoing original shows outlasting anything put out alongside it or to replace it. The lore and world building is deep and engaging, the different elements and armies, the realms and various locations, concept's and weapons. Character development and Storylines: S2, S4, S5, S6 despite it's flawed ending, S8, S9 and S10. It fell off for me will the wildbrain era, however MOTM and Seabound are Really good and with this new series Dragon's Rising I think we're in for a treat. Set waves are great and good value reason why it makes up the majority of my collection.
My guy the fact that it's original doesn't make it's suddenly rise above the rest lmk and as many of the other series are in their own way also original but for lmk that's not fully the deal. Monkie kid based itself off of Chinese mythology one needs to either know about or look up to understand all the connections and all the Easter eggs. It's more of a matter of being interesting enough to teach viewers to look things up and learn since the story behind it is a pretty big deal even if not original.
The aspect of it being original is that it takes place to a future we don't know yet characters that resemble legends of that mythology it's originality stands in the futuristic takes

As someone who watched ninjago for years and monkie kid recently, it's really hard to tell wich is the better Show. It's not even a fair comparition to Beginn with, because monkie kid only has 4 season while Ninjago has 15. I would say it depends wich season to compare. If I compare MK S1 with N S8, then Ninjago wins, but if I compare MK S2 with N S6, then Monkie Kid wins.
Also, HFmasters, I recommend that you continue to watch Monkie Kid. I did the same mistake and only watched Season one, but season 2 is where it started to get pretty interessting. Remember at the end of season one where the one random girl is possesed? Yeah, that's the new female Villain. She is so scary the other villains and the Heros are afraid of her, heck, she is even better than Harumi and I say that as someone who loves Harumi. To be fair Harumi is more complex, but eeeh, just continue to watch Monkie Kid and you will understand what I mean. Can't believe that I needed years to start to watch the Show again and realise how great it is.

Honestly in terms of storytelling and action I think Monkie Kid will be better than ninjago when it gets more seasons under its name. This is coming from someone who watched ninjago from the beginning back in 2011 pilot episodes up til now.

That's a little sad, but I respect that. I love both Ninjago S1-10 (I haven't been able to watch anything past the beginning of S11) and Monkie Kid so much. Overall, I find myself more in love with Monkie Kid's story and characters.

I think Ninjago and Monkie Kid both have their pros and cons. Ninjago has become repetitive but so has Monkie Kid in some aspects like the giant mechs. Both themes also are overpriced, and rely on too big pieces sometimes. I think my favorite theme is Chima.

Personally I prefer Monkie kid because I’m a Journey to the West fan, and Mk did a great job capturing the looks and story from it’s source materials. However, ninjago is also a good theme with cool villains designs. And I think Ninjago priced more well, although I prefer Mk builds,MK sets sometimes is still a bit overpriced
Never in a million years. Ninjago is superior in every way. First off Monkie Kid is a Lego store exclusive, which means it never goes on sale. Also in Australia in every city there is one or two Lego stores. Also the Ninjago show is much better. It is more compelling the characters are more creative, better animation and it has a better story. Monkie kid I found to be too hard to watch, the animation was too much I could barely see what was going on, and in regards to the actual show I got bored with it and the story by the end of season 2. Ninjago took time to progress it’s story and give us a good ending for its current storyline, being crystallised (which is a good season). Monkie kid is rushing through its storyline’s and I would be surprised if it ended by season 6-7. The Monkie kid sets are great I will say that, but a problem with them is that too much is going on and they seem more like display Lego than Lego you can play with and display. Ninjago sets are easy to play with, but can also be displayed. So, overall I think Ninjago is the superior Lego theme over Monkie Kid
Well that’s your opinion but don’t forget. Monkie kid has JUST BEGUN spreading availability on streaming platforms. It arrived in the pandemic for gods sake- ofc it would be hard to watch during that time. Besides ninjago has existed for so long- heck I remember watching it 7yrs ago. We can’t say that something is better JUST BECAUSE it has existed longer. It’s like saying that Tom and jerry would be better than any other show, AND THAT WAS MADE IN THE 60s!!
Regarding animation, we talk about 2 different aspects. An animation close to stop motion and a 2d animation. That’s no comparison since there are many animation lovers out there. And during the set prices, debatably the set with the most pieces and details would ofc be overpriced. I don’t have a ninjago set but based on descriptions, it has a rational amount of details and pieces while LMK has over 12packs of pieces and details.
And lastly for the story line. LMK has the limitation of keeping its content close to the Chinese legend. That’s not necessarily bad since it drives the attention of both novel and show fans. Getting excited with the refferences and nitpicking every episode to see what character and Easter egg appears. It’s not bad that it’s not gonna have 10 or 18 seasons. It’s a rational length for an average series. Take example of avatar the last airbender. One of the most famous shows yet it didn’t need 12+ seasons to be great. It length was what the audience needed. In conclusion. We shouldn’t try to find arguments to prove something better but enjoy the differences.
@nsenseixd I think he meant Ninjago paced itself well and didn't rush through things like what Monkie Kid did. Plus, I agree, people give Monkie Kid WAY too much credit. The story is generic and predictable with not much to make it stand out, the characters are boring, the writing kinda sucks, the animation is nice, as well as the art style, though it has the same problem with Rise Of The TMNT in that it likes to quickly crazy, mindless action at you without slowing down and pacing itself well, and has a lot of the same repetitive anime technique references without feeling unique. Also, it's artstyle doesn't feel very lego-like either. The show rather mid at best and mediocre at worst.

Being honest here as a fan of both I’ve watched ninjago since the beginning I’m an og yk but it’s getting slightly repetitive my hopes are high for the new season tho but ninjago was really in it’s peak during season 1 - 10 the newer seasons were just not it (not talking about the Cole and nya season) I don’t really know about the sets since I don’t have a lot but I heard monkie kid is way more expensive if I compare animation monkie kid is definitely better is this even a question lore is debatable since I’m a journey to the west fan I enjoy lego monkie kid more lore wise but ninjago is good at that too if you want to rewatch the shows every time you rewatch monkie kid a new detail pops up you didn’t see before also if you have red jttw (the thing lmk is based off) you will notice things before hand and recognise characters and artefacts better with ninjago if you want to rewatch it it’s good like you can just choose a specific season and binge watch it honestly mk is a better protagonist than Lloyd imo I did love when Kai was a protagonist tho but the writers haven’t done much with his character at this moment not after the early seasons villain wise from monkie kid all the villains did not disappoint so far but in ninjago you have a couple bad ones but ninjago has way more seasons so like Garmadon is one of the best written villains of ninjago and if you compare that to lady bone demon they both can be just as menacing honestly at the moment I think monkie kid is better but before y’all attack me if ninjago was in its prime I would say ninjago is better and to all the toxic ninjago fans there are way too many.. please atleast give Lego monkie kid a chance it’s worth it

Sorry, but your friend really is useless. Because I've seen the Monkie Kid series, all of it, and it is great. It's actually among the best kids' cartoon series I've ever seen. That it's essentially a glorified toy commercial makes it even better. It's witty, self-conscious, fast. It takes itself serious but not too serious and it has heart. I've not seen much of the Ninjago series, tbh. But that's because I really never got into it. I always find it bland and, frankly, too americanized. So, yes, for me that's another win for Monkie Kid.

I don't like Ninjago anymore, I wasn't a fan of Lego sets but I liked the plot, but over time I saw that it was problematic with stuff like sexisim, bad culture representation, cliche trops ("boys who were pink are silly and robot don't have proper emotions so it's fine to laugh at them") and it's plot progresses nothing! Hardly any character growth, hardly any real emotions because some of the stuff the ninja went through, they deserve to be angry, sad and even take a break if they get overwhelmed, but nooo, give them trauma and drama to keep the older audience entertained but no repercussions from any of that, to keep the younger audience just to gain money. And Ninjago has so so much potential to be a good balance between drama and comedy like monkey kid, (and masterpiece at that too! Teaching amazing life lessons like atla and etc) maybe if it got an animated reboot far in the future, it could be beautiful
