the size we use is the 16x20. The reason is...it's a large machines and it allow you to print larger items. The small the machine, the more you're limited in to printing larger items.
The sublimation is mainly for printing items that are not cotton. Such as, mugs, license plates, etc. If the instructions says to set your machine at 180, do so. Which explains the yellow stain, the temperature is too high. Prior to using the machine, please turn the machine on and allow the machine to seat 30 min. before using. This should help. If not, its possible your heat press machine may need to cleaned. You can clean the machine just as you would clean anything that needs to be cleaned.

Hi Ana! Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately not everyone has the same experience, and when you are trying to grow a business, consistent quality results are key. It's not worth the risk of a customer getting a poor quality inkjet transfer shirt and losing their future business when it is just as easy to use screen printed transfers. However inkjet transfers are cheaper and easier to get started right away. They just are not a product to for a sustainable business.
KittyBowtie thatvis thebissue i ran into i could not find them again, but i recently used some that were great, the name brand is Neenah jepro inkjet soft stretch paper, from what i learned they are better by using a heat press, i did it with an iron, but because of uneven press and heat, or to much heat some did not do to well, only a few came out well
Good ideas. I already do custom rhinestone, heat press, silk screening, embroidery and vinyl but was not aware of the custom screen printed heat press transfers. I will check them out and compare price, etc. Thanks!
If I'm not mistaken, I believe the larger models cover the sleeves. If you are concerned about the top or bottom area of the sleeves, my best guess is that it's simply a matter of turning the shirt in the appropriate direction(much like ironing clothes).

Sometimes it takes me 10-14 days to get my shirts back. This is a problem when it comes to doing "one-offs" and short runs. I end of having to turn money away because its never cost effective for me to do 12 shirts for an individual because I have to pay the printers. Your video made me change my thinking completely.

The only thing that I don't like about the HPN 16×24 SIGNITURE SERIES is that it doesn't have a pressure gauge reader so that I know the amount of pressure to be used on an item rather it be medium or hard. I'm very new to this business but in my research I find when buying a press you have to purchase a pretty good one because of the heating of the heating plate ratio and it's overall performance so I'm just praying it's a solid purchase.

The designs are created in various adobe programs. Since you're asking which programs are used to create the designs. I would recommend you hire a graphic artist to create the designs for you. @30760005 I don't use a home printer or buy transfer paper from the store to print on my own. I send out my design to screen printers who'll put the design onto the release paper. These are not regular transfers from the local Wal-Mart. If you opted to go this route, you'd need to essentially setup an entire screen printing shop with all the equipment & supplies if u wanted to do it 100% on your own.

Works well with light colors -- if you use on dark colors, the fabrics aren't as bright and vibrant -- usually appears dull. It works best on polyester tees. If you aren't familiar with designing or using any of the software like photoshop or any of the abode software. I would highly recommend hiring a graphic artist to create the design for you. Learning the software is a huge learning curb and having the knowledge to use the software is like having a skill set within it self. Learning the software isn't something you'll learn over night. It has taken graphic artists years to do what they do.

I made family reunion t-shirts with iron on transfers of our family tree and I have washed them at least 5 times and have seen no difference in the ink, or any transfer of the ink to anything else in the wash. Maybe it is the brand that I used. I bought it at Michaels. Dont remember the brand but it was a 10 pack and made for darker materials

It's just the imprint from the transfers. Bottom line, we highly recommend screen printed transfers. Most importantly, due to the quality and the shirts last longer.
Thanks for the video, I have a Anajet Sprint and a Geo Knight press, going on 2 years in business and was thinking about expanding into some type of screen print paper for the larger jobs. The annoying aspect of digital printing for me is pretreating the shirt for white ink, so this would cut my time down immensely if the price is right, thanks again.

Hi Enesha, There's just no way to get great quality using transfers that will keep you in business. If you want a shirt for tomorrow, and it's for personal use, then an iron transfer may work for you. However, if you want to be in business to make money and to continue making money, it is vital that you offer high quality products to ensure your customers keep coming back and refer you to their friends and family. If you are selling t-shirts that fade or crack after 1 or 2 washes, your customer will not want to return to your business. As a business, unless you have the equipment necessary, next day orders just are not an option for you. It's important to be in business to turn a profit. Don't get hung up on a product or service if it is not going to prove profitable in the long run.
No, it will not provide the same quality as screen printing, but it's the next best thing for those who can not afford to have designs screen printed yet. These are much better than the transfers sold in stores!

Anything above a 16x20 is perfect. You wouldn't want to go any smaller but anything above 16x20 is fine as well.

There's a chance the graphics you're talking about using is trademarked/copyrighted. That's usually the case, but to answer your question, NO.
Does this process work on a fabric that is not 100% cotton? Say, a triblend of cotton, rayon and polyester?

I made family reunion t-shirts with iron on transfers of our family tree and I have washed them at least 5 times and have seen no difference in the ink, or any transfer of the ink to anything else in the wash. Maybe it is the brand that I used. I bought it at Michaels. Dont remember the brand but it was a 10 pack and made for darker materials

It's just the imprint from the transfers. Bottom line, we highly recommend screen printed transfers. Most importantly, due to the quality and the shirts last longer.

Thanks for the video, I have a Anajet Sprint and a Geo Knight press, going on 2 years in business and was thinking about expanding into some type of screen print paper for the larger jobs. The annoying aspect of digital printing for me is pretreating the shirt for white ink, so this would cut my time down immensely if the price is right, thanks again.

There's just no way to get great quality using transfers that will keep you in business. If you want a shirt for tomorrow, and it's for personal use, then an iron transfer may work for you. However, if you want to be in business to make money and to continue making money, it is vital that you offer high quality products to ensure your customers keep coming back and refer you to their friends and family. If you are selling t-shirts that fade or crack after 1 or 2 washes, your customer will not want to return to your business. As a business, unless you have the equipment necessary, next day orders just are not an option for you. It's important to be in business to turn a profit. Don't get hung up on a product or service if it is not going to prove profitable in the long run.
No, it will not provide the same quality as screen printing, but it's the next best thing for those who can not afford to have designs screen printed yet. These are much better than the transfers sold in stores!

heck I never had a problem with iron 9n transfers. made a bunch over the years and heck my mom still has,hers I made like,9 yrs ago in pretty good quality ;)
Looks like transfer prices have gone WAY up since this video. Wondering if a better option might be to print my own transfers using a manual screen printing press using plastisol inks?

When printing the design onto the release paper, is it printed through a normal printer, with normal ink? Or is there special ink that needs to be purchased as well?
That's not something we do. You'll need to find a company that supplies the type of inks you're wanting to use.

I use a different paper, it's called heat trasfer paper for light and dark colors. Which kind of paper do you use? I'm from Brazil, can I buy these papers here? Does it work in cotton t-shirt?

isn't it just a mater of keeping the regular printer ink at a high enough temperature for long enough; if not can you print with plastisol from a home/office printer?
