    I downloaded the crt file and use it on my Kung Fu flash. It works great and you can even set the Kung Fu Flash for c128 mode which allows for the turbo option 2MHz in the game.
    What can I say about EOB that hasn’t already been said? 11/10. Bravo.

    • @AmigaLove
      @AmigaLove  ปีที่แล้ว

      Kung Fu Flash - last I checked - isn't 100% supported on NTSC machines. Are you on NTSC? That would be cool to have another option.
      Someone else told me they use a BackBit. It normally wouldn't work (like the Ultimate) but apparently is you use a special modern PLA replacement, it does. Except - those are completely sold out due to chip shortages so it isn't really an option for me today. Cool way to go about it, though.

(Currently A1K with Starboard or Parceiro, depending, C128D, A3K maxed out and Quadra 700, also maxed out). But in my greedy ideal world I'd also have a C64 station and either my Powerbook 500Mhz or a Win98 station. Or a stock A3K. But those 3 have to get rotated in and out. My Q700 is ever-present as is the A1K, and the other two "do the dance" every few months. But it kills me every time I have to do a swap. 1st world problems...

    • @AmigaLove
      @AmigaLove  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Some of the dudes in Jurassic Park in 1993 had massive dual monitors (21"?). But in the 80s? Honestly now that I think about it I can't think of any instances... Hmm...
      But yeah I guess in 10 years we'll all just wear Vision Pro-like goggles embedded into our eyeballs and lose the monitors for the most part.

  • @pacbilly
    @pacbilly ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I couldn't click like fast enough. I have a 128 but because it's the original model it's a little too bulky, and I mostly just keep my C64 connected. But I do have a couple of 1351s and a 1581 for saves. Now that you have this exact setup, you should grab the C128 version of PETSCII Robots, which allows for the same dual monitor map feature. And then make another video because this was great.

    the devs did a great job. But for those who do not have a C128 or too afraid to dabble in the emulation setup, you can also get a similar experience with Grid Cartographer and Game Link. Works with a few RPG games, like Ishar, Might & Magic, Wizardy, Ultima and Eye of the Beholder: just search here for Grid Gamelink.

      @@AmigaLove This is not a free tool. There might be a trial/demo version, but I have it as I use to create maps with this for different use. I wasn't convinced at first to shell out money, though on his Trello planboard it shows he also wanted to add Amiga support... so, this convinced me to support him. It has been very useful for some of these older games, especially those that do not have a mapping function.

      Shouldn't be a problem. If you're saving directly to the KFF (which someone else told me was working well) I think you're going to be good to go. The C128 upgrade is totally worth it - do the swap!

    • @AmigaLove
      @AmigaLove  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, James! I don't have a SuperCPU 128. I've never been able to source one. But I do indeed have a RAMlink. I only used the RAMlink's cartridge pass-through. The game doesn't like JiffyDOS, by the way, so I think CMD storage options are out - especially since this is a cartridge image. Someone told me the KungFu Flash worked for them. I'd read the KFF wasn't fully supported on NTSC machines, so I never went down that road.

    Ive only played EOTB on the original A500 back in the day and it was a game everyone i knew with an Amiga played even if they were not fans of the genre.

    • @AmigaLove

      100%. Realistically, a game of this size and magnitude wouldn't have ever seen the light of day back in the day. I think the CRT file alone is over 2MB. Most of Europe was running cassettes, and even here in the US my friends and I were all on floppy disks. That would have been a massive stack of disks, and the swapping? LOL
      But... if someone had had the idea of burning the game to cartridge, with floppy disk backups and game loading? Holy crap. I would have begged my mom to get that cartridge, even if it did cost $200 back in the day (or more?). I wouldn't have gotten one, but I would have chased that dream for years until I snagged one. =D

    Which CRT monitor would you suggest for a mixed setup (Amstrad CPC via SCART adapter cable and external PSU, C128DCR and Amiga 1200)?
    I got a 1084S (with SCART RGB) for my Amiga 1000 and love it, but I need a second monitor for upstairs.

    • @AmigaLove
      @AmigaLove  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's an interesting question. I don't live in SCART-land so I'm probably not the best person to ask. But it sounds like you have a very cool collection.
      I'm spoiled: I typically have dedicated monitors for each computer setup. And I usually stick to CRTs that were paired with the machines from back in the day. My 1902A, which I use with the C128Dcr, was recapped and refurbished by a retired C= electrician this past year. So I use that a ton. My C64(s) get the 1702, my A1K et al get a 1080, etc. However my A3000 has an HDMI card in it, so I can pump that out to a 4:3 modern display.
