it's almost the same as the DUAL CS 460 except the tonearm and the platter.The plastic sub -platter and the lateral levers speak for themselves . Thorens sells for 1600 e and Dual for 600 e !!!!!!!
I wonder - I have the Thorens 103a which, remove the platter it looks identical, more of a mod ' furniture' style visually.... like the 240-2. they say the 103 is an upgrade over 240, who knows.... very MAJOR point - the cheesy tiny 4 wires that go to back of cartridge, the clips themselves are ultra cheap & don't even have insulating tubes to provide additional durability / strength. funny thing - Thorens doesn't use the standard SME / technics design with a replaceable H'shell that costs about $25. including wires. the Thorens part, $75. IF , IF ya can find it.
the stereo magazine ' hi fi news' (England ) is the only one I know that actually does technical tests on T' tables. 'Stereophile' in U.S. does on amps & spks but not T'tables. google - they tested the 148 in May '21.
