I wish the 1970s were still here. This song reminds me of my oldest brother, Melvin. Whenever I hear this song, I can still see him washing & waxing his 1975 Ford Mercury in the front yard. The 8-track tape player in his car would be blasting "The Stylistics," "Earth, Wind & Fire," and "The Ohio Players." Rest in peace, Melvin.

Barbara I agree with you 100 percent! I grew up with this music, dance to it, brought their songs back it came in cassettes and vinyl records. Russell Thompkins Jr. to me has one of the best falsetto voice ever. Giving the late Harry Ray, the late AL Goodman and Billy Brown from the original group the Moments a run for their money, also Philip Bailey, the lead singer for many, many with Earth Wind and Fire as well. This kind of music sadly doesn't come around anymore! God how I miss this kind of music and those days! Ciao, Frank.

This was my wedding song my husband sang to me in 1987. My favorite song. He just passed away and I still listen to this beautiful favorite song ,remembering all the good times. I will always remember this was our song.
It's 2023. My 5 yr old grand daughter came to me and sung " keep growing strong keep growing strong." I asked her where did you to get that from? She remembered me playing this song. 😂😂
I'm 58 and still listening in 2022! I don't know where the time went but this song still makes me feel like it did in the 70s God bless all of you listening!!!
We lived two blocks away from my school. In the fall of 71 I'd run home everyday for lunch. I could smell my moms cooking as soon as I reached our porch. As I entered I could hear the stylistics coming through the radio on the kitchen table.
I'm 62 and growing up in the 70s with all this wonderful music. God this stuff is the real deal . Hate the rubbish that is out now . . Great memories every time I hear this song .
That’s wonderful! Being a Caribbean man, I’m sure he knows that the co-writer, composer & arranger of this song, Thom Bell, is from Jamaica. Respect to you & yours. 👊🏽🙏🏽
I attended a private boarding school … with only 150 students, the school was struggling a bit financially. One year, I was in Grade 10, the headmaster accepted several scholarship students from inner city neighborhoods (Watts, Compton, Oakland, Berkeley) as I believe he received government matching funds to host these students. Musically and culturally it was an education for me, a suburban white kid. As a result I heard The Stylistics, The O’Jays, The Spinners, Curtis Mayfield, Joe Tex, etc. for the first time … amazing! 🙂🤜🏼🤛🏾
One word: timeless....to elaborate; poetry, vibrating the ether in the air, to produce, such a beautiful melody that will always stimulate the memory.....
Always bringing this music back and listening to this. It makes you realize how privileged and blessed we were to for those good old times, always brings back good memories
This song reminds me when I was on Okinawa with the Marines. It reminds me of a girl I was madly in love with. I did write to her while I was still on Okinawa. I got a letter back, but no return address. Well that's life. I never met her face to face. I guess she was like everyone else in those days, hated Military personell especially Marines. Very true. Never to be repeated
I am 19 and I agree with you. The more years go by, the more I find myself gravitating to music from the 70s and 80s.
