San Juan Airport: The Reason I LOVE Saturdays!

Spotting video @ Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (TJSJ/SJU)! Spotting in 4/24/21, this features yet another Saturday that was packed with a whole lot of aircraft worth getting a shot of! I'm talking about a full spotting day that includes a wide variety of aircraft from military/federal visitors to the domestic heavies and even to the international widebodies visiting SJU.
Some honorable mentions include: a US Air Force C-32 on a fuel stop on its way to South America, a British Airways B777-200ER on some cargo charter flights (like Virgin Atlantic is also doing), and the catch of the day being a LATAM B777-300ER on its first visit to SJU as a charter flight! It was hard to believe that this was all recorded on a single Saturday. So I hope you enjoy this video! & don't forget to comment, rate & subscribe!

I never thought I would see a British Airways jet in San Juan.
BA used to fly regularly in the 90s..but I feel the same way as you about the LATAM one lol!
When I lived in San Juan, the major carriers were Eastern, Transcaribean and Pan Am. On Saturdays PRANG woke the city up at 6:00 am with F104 Starfighters on full afterburner. The first 747 flights were by Pan Am. They had just added a bunch of new gates but they could not teach high for the 747. Deplaning and luggage was done in shed and took about an hour.. We would park at the end of the run and the 747 would in final approach, that was a thrill. Another unique experience was a guy walking through the airport with a mountain lion a leash.
That was in the late sixties.
I miss this planes in airport: US Airways, Airtran, Iberia, American Eagle, Liat AND More.....

I miss the big planes, It is already too rare to find Boeing 777-300 and Boeing 787, I also miss the airlines of British airways, Latam, and Condor, All that is already very difficult to find in SJU or disappeared completely.

That 757 with the tail number 09001 is the most interesting for me....
USAF Special Operations transport, used for clandestine ops delivery, they fly a lot from NJ and seeing how there was a C-17 there earlier, my guess is that the C-17 dropped off some VIPs and the 757 came in to pick em up back home, or anything along those lines.

So is the airport used for training missions? USAF 3126 did it take off & land for air time?Tres bon movement '21!!
Ft. Buchanan is only a few minute drive from there and there is also a small base attached to the airport, my biggest guess is that its used as a staging for any clandestine ops done in South America.

Si, Ya es demasiado raro encontrar 777-300 en puerto rico, O podriamos decir que solo vienen en ocasiones especiales.
