    Thanks very much for the helpful info. Do you have a recipe for a warm grey that one could use for clouds?

      I would say, mix from your 3 primaries, and just adjust to add a little more yellow and pink and a little less blue. Cerulean, lemon and rose is pretty safe.

    I'm still not very good mixing color I'm glad i purchased your posters to help me mix different colors together...i even took four pictures on my phone of each poster to take with me when I'm out and about and i want to do a fast painting in car.......the posters are very helpful at home...i wish I could do a flipboard smaller version like a 10×10 version I'm thinking I might see if I can get my daughter to do a copy on computer printer c and then just tape over each picture as my eyes are older ...to much to carry in my purse the big posters...lol...I thought I could just hole punch at top then add it to my sketch book with a string..mikelle art mom✍👩‍🎨🎨

    This is very helpful. I bought 2 travel palettes to fill from my tubes to take on vacation. Each holds 12 half pans so knowing I can mix other colors especially gray is very important to me. Thank you

    I like all the greys. The combination of viridian and opera is quite wonderful in the way it seems to nearly disappear: cool light and granular.

    Hi Michelle. What would you suggest for mixing a neutral, almost cool grey like periwinkle grey? I think leaning the mix towards a cool blue seems to work, so that would mean Prussian Blue and Venetian Red?

    • @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
      @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You could, but remember you will get a lot of granulation with venetian which is basically a version of red oxide. Might be worth experimenting with a scarlet or clear orange if that troubles you.

    I owne just a few of the paints named in the video😉
    But of course the principles apply to other similar colors as well so quite interesting nevertheless. Also I am planning to buy some artist grade paints to supplement my set, and this gives me some good pointers.

    What pink did you use please for the first grey to add with the blue and lemon ?

    • @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
      @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can't remember but it would either have been Quinacridone Rose, Talens Rembrandt or Jackman's Art Materials Quinacridone Magenta, because the first is in my palette all the time and the second I had out for a patreon's video I was filming.

    Would you have a recipe for African Grey?🦜 They don’t taste good 🥴but a recipe for the spectacular array of grays in their plumage is appreciated. I watched your white video and haven’t tried yet but it just may be the trick to that flat look. He’s got a heck of a set of red tail feathers! He’s not as iridescent as Ace. Addy loves your videos and can’t wait for the next on. 🤘 rock on

    • @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
      @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Addy! He is safe as I don't eat meat. Yes flat opaque colour can often be achieved with white. I intend to do more bird painting tutorials, parrots perhaps!

      I used to mix everything, but I got lazy after a while and started buying more colours!

    • @Mr.S65
      @Mr.S65 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the Studio with Michele Webber I’m a beginner and frankly, I find it very hard to mix colors when I’m following instructions to paint something and I’m expected to have colors that I don’t have. I was following the rule of having just two sets of primaries, cool and warm, to learn how to mix secondaries and tertiaries, but such an endeavor proved to be very frustrating. I think triads work very well if you take a course on color theory and paint later. Although, I agree that tweaking colors you already have is very useful too.

    Is Indian red a red oxide?

    • @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
      @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's a red pigment that gets labelled by many names including Indian, Oxide, Venetian, but pigments vary even within the same number. But if you mean can you use it for the red oxide in the video, yes, it is likely to be very similar.
