1:22 there is austenitic stainless steel 316L that more serious companies offer too. It not only has reduced carbon, but the main advantage of it is that it adds 3% molybdenum which helps against corrosion, which for some reason not many people mention.

Have you looked at the ProVia windows? The corner drive system is also nice to help with the seal of the window as over time you see the top corner doesn't seem to seal and that system helps to alleviate that.

Hi. I have a 70 inch wide by 56 inch high space. I wanted to know if I can get a double casement for this? That would make each window 35 inches wide. Is there a risk or a con to this? I didn't want to do a triple casement as I want more glass?

If yo have an open window at night, the bugs accumulate on the screen and when you close the window you trap the bugs inside your home between the window and screen.

Did not think about the security aspect, I can see how they could be pried open

I thought about some but the additional con that made me decide against them was the lack of screen. If you open the window your going to get bugs, mosquitoes flying in your house.

The casement window can come with an inside screen so when you crank open the window you have the screen blocking out the bugs.

Like Jeremy said, the screen is on the inside of the window.

I think they're good for tall apartment buildings

I’m thinking con - no ac in window & wind & rain

I use a portable AC. The inserts don't fit casement windows, but I got a corrugated plastic sheet from the hardware store (or an acrylic sheet would work, too), and cut out the part where the hose insert would fit. Then, it's a matter of securing the sheet to the window frame. I used white duct tape and everything was fine last summer.

What about a sudden, strong gust of wind? I've heard that some casement windows have broken off the hinges. Has anyone heard of this happening?

Hi Sashine, to this point I have never had a customer experience this, but I suppose a gust strong enough with a casement window open far enough, and the wind gusting in the right direction could pose a risk, but that would take some gust!

@@americanwindowconcepts5510 Thanks. I am careful if the wind is strong, and I will semi-close the window. I live on the 11th floor and the breeze does make the windows move a bit. Have a good day.

We get most weeks 30 mpg gusts or higher so I’m thinking no

Casement windows are only good for service company because they create tons of repair jobs. If I am building a new house, I will stay away from it.
