These tutorials are extremely under appreciated … this is useful knowledge on any instrument, not just Polyend. Hope these get the recognition they deserve soon. Thank you!!!
Cheers Ian, Glad you think so. I am a tiny channel so its hard to get the messaging out there with the recommendation system so definitely tell your friends. However I just keep making the good content and people will come :)
@@LordHandosigh, I found this complicated 😌. Only used a Novation circuit before, which is so simple to use & great on the fly. I'd still be using it if some scumbag hadn't stolen it from church. Anyway bought a tracker months ago as the pad contacts on the circuit were getting dirty/not working with normal pressure. This is going to sound awesome, especially the poly sound. Maybe a little too good for church. The young ones are hyped up enough.
I've been using Trackers since the Amiga days and I recently got a Polyend Tracker, and I must say your tutorials on it are absolutely the best around.
Excellent stuff. I was looking for exactly this sort of information --- not how to use the UI, but how to make effective beats with the tracker commands. Looking forward to watching part 2!
Cheers, definitely trying to distill my knowledge of trackers in an easy to follow manner. Still working on the next video trying to not go crazy with melody music theory.
Awesome, just in time! I just got my polyend a few days ago and have been watching all the tutorials. Most of them are pretty samey and I really learned something new from this! Subbed :) Keep the content coming!
Awesome Blair, you are in for some fun i tell you. Make sure you on the latest firmware and get those samples. Still recording the melody vid as the more I go to explain the more i find out that nes music came from a broad set of composers.
Cheers Philphy, I have done more of and overview here th-cam.com/video/ZdUMnV5q9Pk/w-d-xo.html, this video focuses on break beat goodies with the Polyend Tracker.
I hope you will reply, but I am curious about how you format other time signatures. Most beats are in 4/4, and the spaces needed to make a quarter note for example is obvious. But what if I want to write something in 6/8? I don't know if I articulated this properly, but I just don't know how to format time signatures other than 4/4 in a tracker.
Cheers for the question Cav, this is where a bit of math comes in as we can change the resolution of the beat. The tracker's steps are usually set to be just a quarter note (4 steps to a beat). you can adjust the spacing. I''ll need to check in the menus where you can move the lines that is every 4 steps, however if you want the lines to represent 8th notes, set the value to 2 with a 2 step beat resolution or double speed the bpm to get 8th notes with 4 step beat resolution. You see a lot of trackers go at double speed to get more resolution. now to get the 6/8 bars you need to count out the step beat resolution. so with the double speed example you need 4x6 which is 24 steps per bar. keeping 4 bars to a pattern you would end up with 96 steps per pattern. this can be a bit to get started with however i really enjoy playing with odd timings with trackers. you can also use the tempo effect to make complex swing patterns. Hope this helps
Hey! Thanks for these videos. Just working through them now. I wanted to note -- the downloaded sample pack is somewhat different than in the video. The available percussion samples are different, and the Breaks are missing entirely.

This one is for beginner levels for sure.

Cheers buddy, glad they are getting you up to speed. think there has been enough updates for a new video soon.

Glad you enjoyed it Ray!
this is the best tracker tutorial i've seen yet :)

The 5/4 lofi tip is gold! 🙏
Its a handy way of adding swing to trackers. Try other ratios too.

Best Tracker tutorial! Thanks a lot!
Cheers Ivan. Have fun making drums.
Very clear tutorial ! Thanks! I'm considering the tracker more and more
Cheers Johan, Its is a lot of fun, however I am probably not helping your wallet
5:15 I appreciate the tip but adding that recording of rain in post was an especially nice touch.
adding noise loops always adds some spice :). Have fun using it.
Great video. I learned a few things. Thanks
Glad to hear it
Aww yeah.. thank you ever so much! (particularly the blending samples tip!) :D
No worries! Its why I made this series for. Have lots of fun with your tracker :).
This was awesome, thanks for sharing your knowledge. I subbed because of all the tracker videos 🙂
thanks for the sub. there is still more to go.
Great content. Let's start the ride ;)
Thanks for sharing🎉
Any time!
Thanks a lot for your tracker tutorials! So improving my knowledge of this instrument
Happy to hear that. Hope you are having fun with your Tracker.
One of the most informative video ive seen! Thanx a lot
Very cool video and much thanks for the free sample pack! The sounds are dope and will be put to use immediately.
Thank you TeeAbrafo, I hope you make some cool tunes with the samples!

That's the plan. Hope it helps.

Glad you like them! Lots to get through still, however it a lot of fun making these.
Nice
Cheers Polyend
Absolutely love your channel mate...
Any chance you can go deeper into the granular Akai effect?
It is something I would be very interested in...

Cool tricks, thank you for sharing!

So if I spent a little bit of time, I’d be able to create something similar to a drum part found in Tools music?

Cheers, Didn't realised I changed up the sounds. I just copied what is have on my Polyend Tracker and uploaded it to Gum Road. Happy tracking.
thanks man!
No problem :)
Thanks a lot for the video!! Very useful!!
Happy to hear. Hope you are following along with the series.
thanks really useful tutorial
Yeehaaa. that got me thinking...thnx!
Cheers Unrat666, Lots of stuff in this. Gimme about an hour and you will be getting a sound design video.
I've had this thing for a few weeks and I'm like "WHYYYY can't it do an evenly spaced number of slices? WHY?????" then 17:57 happened
Don't you like it when some obscure nugget of information pops up 17:57 into a video and everything just clicks :).
15:46 🙏 😂
Subscriiiiibed!
Thank you Aleksei.
